You definitely inspire us especially in backgrounds, after I found your channel I became more interested in learning how to draw backgrounds and I'm making progress 🙏💗
edit: GUYS I GET IT SHES NOT RLLY 10 U CAN CHILL NOW so nobody gonna comment on how soph is only TEN YEARS OLD?? Soph if youre reading this, thats seriously impressive. You should be so proud of yourself- your art is so aesthetically pleasing, and the way you dressed the characters of genshin impact is making my heart go brrrrr But yea, thats crazy and now im scared
I’ve been hitting some majorrrr art block recently, so this video helped to inspire me a lot!! I just have no clue what I’m doing style-wise and my art is looking messier by the minute, but Ik with practice and hard work I’ll be able to draw with more confidence and solidity like these guys! Thanks Sam for the inspiration 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Oh hey! Thanks for including my 12 year grind of improvement! I sometimes feel I haven't improved much at all since so many people around me improve so much faster. Thanks for reminding me, and all the other art babies, that hard work always pays off - even if it takes over a decade
It was just new years a bit less than an hour ago in my country, and this year i really want to practice my art skills. Thank you for helping me with that, and happy new year everyone!
@@FrejaWso I don’t mean to come off as rude, but how do u know? R u also in the server? [im too lazy to scroll back thru the vid and find ur username] Edit: so it’s been several days and I finally found this comment to edit it. DW I read the desc
It depends on the quality if u work hard, finding what your art needs and you fix it, learn more anatomy maybe THEN you can improve bcuz no one has born talented.
My friend sent me this when I was telling her that I was about to give up on art. I wasn’t confident with my style or character design, and many people had made fun of my art before. A lot of my other friends were also so much better than me. I was so insecure about my drawings that I wanted to give up. This was a motivational boost that showed me that if I kept going, I could be as good as those other amazing artists. Now I’m ready to pick up my pencil and start again. Thank you!
I literally started sketching just in November and in just a month’s time I’ve progressed so much. It really comes down to taking the time and doing daily exercises. I appreciate your advice! Much love Sam! ✍️💯🙏
I don’t want to sound cocky but I’m very proud of my improvement over the past year, especially in realism. It’s actually crazy how much I’ve grown in my art, and tbh I’m really proud of myself!
I was trying to do art while watching, but I can’t work with background noise. Like, not even music! Then I will just sing XD Haha, nice to see that people are different!
I’m so glad I come across your channel. Your voice is sooo relaxing and your statement “you need to know the rules before you break them.” I’m not really a digital artist as I’m still focusing and learning to draw well in the traditional so I can learn anatomy and proportions the correct(?) way. Thank you so much I already like your channel. Thank you for being such an inspiration!
I started watching your videos about 2 months ago and tbh you inspire me so much. Whenever I question my choice in pursuing art as a career I watch your videos and calm my mind down. Thank you for all of your efforts and kindness, I hope you will have even more success in your journey I'm sorry if my English is bad
Thank you Sam for giving us a voice. Millions of artists and artworks are out there and not being seen, criticized, appreciated and now here I can find inspiration through others work and see where I too have fallen short on structure, colours, lighting, anatomy and so much more. Happy New Year to you and to all🎉🎊🎇🎆
Beginner artist here these artworks are. AMAZING, seeing the improvement of others inspires me to keep going with my art journey Also guys read the description soph isn’t actually 10 lmao
9:16 I genuinely want them to explain how they improved that much in 3 months. I don't believe it's physically possible, and im not even saying that because I'm someone who draws stickmen and acts like art is impossible.. damn.
As a aspiring writer that tried art and decided that I’m lazy AF and can’t focus on one thing this inspires me to write entire stories about these pieces (won’t cuz already writing one and don’t want to have a big work load)
casually drawing, watching the video, and chilling. "soph, is only 10 years old." i stopped the video, stared at the screen for a moment, replayed that part, and started wondering my life choices. i went down to the comments, and they told me to read the desc 😂 i mean what was i doing when i was 10? playing tag/stuck in the mud and binging anime- and soph even if ur not actually 10 ur still amazing i love ur art its so aesthetic i love the clothes you dressed xiao and venti into and the qinxin and cecilia that are tangled together its really beautiful (and the speed you improve at scares me) keep it up : D
This video was really inspiring. I haven't opened my sketchbook in a month because I was writing exams. Finishing my third year of my law degree completely drained me. I was really hoping to improve my art skills while on holiday but I'm just so.. tired.. of life in general lol. Before you turned art into a career, did you experience times when you didn't draw for a long while and couldn't get yourself to just do it no matter how much you wanted to? The longer I spend away from my sketchbook, the more guilt I feel...
The differences in the art is incredible and looks so good! Especially for some of the ones that are only a year apart!! Also, I cant help but say that at 11:51 that looks like commander erwin from attack on titan lol idk if it is but I love it 😄
OMG, THIS TAUGHT ME SOOO MCUHHHHH!!!! Tbh, It''s really nice to see how people improve, and the before/after shots kinda tell me what I should improve on too, because FYI, basically every face I draw looks like the before shots... It's bout the grind tho, and I've got the drive, I've got the power, I stay hungry, I devo- ... I was born this way...
3:09 “You need to know your enemy’s before you destroy them” OMG! THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE! You need to knew what the humans body looks like before you begin to create your own style!!! Best piece of advise I think I’ve ever heard!
help i fell for the soph being 10 thing and was half jealous half amazed because having that skills as a 10 year old is very good (part of what made me believe it because i had a friend who was a year younger than me and at the time i was 12 and oml their art.....) but also im only 3 years older yet i still cannot draw full body pictures 😻 soph's skills are still very good though and honestly even though they are older than me im still feeling inspired enough to actually complete a drawing and learn, both of which are things i don't do edit: quick disclaimer: anyone at any age can be inspiring, it's just that at first i was like "oh frick they're so much younger than me and they can do so much maybe i should actually try instead of giving up" and then when i realized they're actual age i was like "oh most 16 year olds draw like that but yk what. it's still amazing and inspiring so im still gonna try to get better". ok anyways this comment is getting too long if you read this have a great day
I used to be more comfortable with the idea of being patient for my art to improve over time, and I had actually began to like it even, but recently my dad is always talking about how he wants my career to go a certain way, and where he can see me after university, and it feels like I all of a sudden have to be this phenomenal artist or something, which has put a lot of pressure on me.. This video helped remind me that I just have to focus on improving, but also to enjoy doing so. Thank you ♡
Thank you Sam and all the patrons for this video! I have been quite demotivated lately and after seeing this I feel super inspired to draw ! Thank you for all your videos they help me a lot to improve my art ! Happy New Year 2022 ! :D
You emanate cool teacher vibe, I feel that kids would love learning from you! Which is a bit weird complement from a former teacher ♥️ I don’t do art, but I’m here for that vibe and all the knowledge you share.
I love this dude. I mean like he's so inspiring and kind. People like him are the reason I do what I like and be confident about it. Watching him is now the reason I do digital art. Thank you so much Sam!
(Sorry for this comment being so long. And excuse my English) Why would you stop traditional? Digital art is just another medium, just like graphite and markers are different! If you prefer digital, GO ON, but no one is gonna tell you what to do! Sam is AWEEEESOME, but just cuz he likes digital more than traditional doesn’t mean it’s automatically better! It’s just about choosing between all those digital effects, tricks, adjustments and all that stuff, of the feel of different papers and brushes, and just the discovery of new supplies! And if you don’t want to chose (and just do both) YOU DO YOU! Personally, I’ll always be a traditional artist, but sometimes do digital. (Mostly because of strong screen restrictions at home and the feel of Copic markers...) You don’t have to fully choose, and put the other away, if you don’t really want to! We have years left (hopefully (ok, that was a little dark)), so we have time to find out exactly who we are! I have a goal to do more digital, but I also wanna discover more traditional media the upcoming year. Haha, imma stop writing now! My hands hurt...
@@timurdobrianskyi179 oh okay :) I have a lot of pencils and different colors in literally any art supply! It did cost a lot of money, and I’m suuuuper broke now, haha XD And if your case is lack of the right supplies, digital is definitely the cheaper (and maybe even better in your case) option :) Happy new year! Hope you achieve your goals!
When watching this video it's making sad, because I stopped drawing one year before the end of high school (stressed, fear of not graduate) and now it's been like 2 years, I bought an tablet graphic this year tested it, doing an octopus for my first drawing on it, I loved it. Then I stopped drawing again for god know what reason 😅 maybe stress again, and used used her to take note/lesson at university, but this video is the kind of things that make me remember why I love drawing 😁 I will start to draw again, thank you
happy new year idol Sam I'm really inspired about your art, I always watched your tutorials video and gives me learning keep up idol Sam , wishing i would be like you >i'm always keep practicing and the always thing u said ,only just used 10 layers and that's enough ,>your'e right it work
Dude you’ve helped me a lot during this late December. I just got into drawing and you’ve helped keep my habit of dropping something after a few weeks away.
So this is my third video of you that I watch. Just found you on RU-vid. I like your voice, I like your face and I like your jokes. Your commentary does make me insecure since I just started out and I can’t even draw a box .🤣 But I’m definitely coming back to your channel!☺️
5:12 i'm only 12 and my art is similar to hers- thats one hell of a confidence boost right there-- i never rlly thought my art was that good- i still cant draw backgrounds but im getting there
Going to keep watching this video hoping it will inspire me more to actually learn art, did head sketches once and became burnt out and stopped because of college responsibility for whole year! Wishing this year is different in my case since I never had a drawing experience/background when I was younger (I'm 23 right now)
This is one of the first videos I've watched of yours, and I truly think it's amazing how you have inspired so many people I'm definitely subscribing to your channel, keep up the great work.
Anyone knows zoph's (11:32) instagran handle or something? Her art is gorgeous lol I don't know if I missed it..otherwise I think Sam could tell them to also include their socials so we can find them, who agrees? Btw great video as always Sam! I don't often comment lol
I started drawing one month ago, and absolutely love it! I've progressed to the point where everything looks like barely legible crap😅. The only thing I'm good at is TCCC, but I really want to draw well!
