Just wanted to say thanks for all you do to keep our Chinatowns alive. Boston Chinatown doesn't get the love it deserves. Really appreciate you taking the time to visit and shine a spotlight on some great places. Next time you come back, would definitely recommend hitting up some Taiwanese spots. Taiwan cafe is a personal fave.
We are group of families from NJ and Houston. Went in Taiwan Cafe with great expectation, came out with disappointment. Please take that Taiwan from their name, nothing we ordered can said authentic Taiwanese dishes.
Chinatown in Boston doesn’t deserve any love at all .. I have been working in the forty for years and Chinatown is full of disgusting unsanitary people and also restaurants .. Bostonians should all come together and get rid of Chinatown and everybody who lives in it
Born and raised in the Boston area. Chinatown has really evolved. Kept up with the times. Very proud of the new gen entrepreneurs. They just need to figure out the parking situation. Been impossible to find parking for decades.
Born and raised in Boston when they decided to remove the metered parking spots from Kneeland and Washington streets that ruined the areas businesses. A must eat restaurant is Hong King Eatery at 79 Harrison ave. The bbq pork is insanely delicious.
Ayyyy that was me in all black across the street at 24:00 I was wondering who the fuck was shouting at drivers. Then I realized it was the Fung Bros and asked for a picture. These guys were chill af. Hope yall had a nice time here, better be rooting for the Celtics next time you come back tho hahahahaha
Boston thought its not that big compared to NYC I have had the best versions of every cuisine there... indian , ramen, chinese, nigerian food. Boston knows whatsup theres alot of good food
Thanks Fung Bros for highlighting the food and people from Boston's Chinatown. I'm originally from the 626 where the level of Asian food is obviously unparalleled, but you gotta respect the history and how long this community has persevered on the east coast. Wish I could've run into you guys on the street. Long time subscriber and love your channel.
@@ramirom1434 very close to Savin Hill on the Red line. Walk down to dot ave and it is a block away, very worth the trip! Best Bahn Mi, food and drinks
I've walked by Double Chin hundreds of times but never gone inside. That's about to change! Thank you for doing this vid, a love Chinatown. It's a very overlooked and underrated part of Boston.
OH MY GOSH THANK YOU!!! I work one street over from Chinatown and I love their food, but I always feel like I'm missing the "hidden gems" I had to subscribe. Thank you for making this video!!!
Boston is incredibly diverse. People dont know it because of the movies that only show one type of boston, and because people only visit downtown and college neighborhoods. Boston and the surrounding area has every type of neighborhood you could think of.
That banh mi sold me to go to Boston foreal. I really liked Naq hanging out with y’all. He was so honest and educated! Everything y’all ate looked insanely good! Rest In Peace, Ken 🙏🏼
I live in Boston, and I’m so grateful for this video! Out of the places I’ve tried from this video, I can say they definitely deserve to be on this list! So now I know I NEED to go to the places I haven’t tried.
If you are in Boston, whether it is living or visiting, you have got to be in Chinatown. It is so underrated and I pray to god all the gentrification and cost of living stuff doesn't make it collapse because it is amazing. You can walk in to any restaurant and get great food for a reasonable price.
Great video. I have a suggestion how about interviewing influential members of the Asian community. Serious but light engaging interviews. Like how we as asian americans make an impact in our world and community. Positivity and inspirational ideas and stories for the young Asian Americans. You could interview the mayor or local assembly members or congressional topics for a congressmen since you're mother is a lawyer she could help you. The Asian American foundation is doing wonders now. Maybe you can interview a board member or 2 in a serious setting. Have a more political voice and stance for your communities. Thank you very much. Hope you like this suggestion.
i was hoping to find a commented like this! we've got some serious asian flavor raising in the political and societal landscaping of "boss-town" and folk need to know
You might have to revoke Mr. Vietnam's title cuz he completely mispronounced the banh mi's spot name 😭 he could have just asked the owner how to pronounce it properly... Otherwise, props for showcasing Boston's Chinatown 👍
Only been to Boston a few times, but Penang was a favorite recommended by my in laws. Ate there 3x and were never disappointed. Boston Chinatown is full of surprises, love from the 6ix.
Boston is really underrated, between Boston, Cambridge and Dorchester we have some of the best food in the US from Korean food to Vietnamese to Chinese and everything in between. 617
Do a round 2 including greater boston/Dorchester. Anh Hong, Ba Le, Chinatown Cafe, Kaze, GG/peach farm, maybe some Allston spots. Damn can i take u guys around next time, I got some bomb diggity in mind for you..
I'm from Dorchester, but i never really got the chance to check out any spots in China town. I really been missing out my whole life! Appreciate the video and the content
@Tiffani Delarosa Yeah, My first investment with Mr Anthony Dylan earned me profit of over $25,530 US dollars, and ever since then he has been delivering
Flushing in NYC (as well as Sunset Park in Brooklyn), while popular among locals and foodies, always get overshadowed by their most famous sibling in Manhattan. Honestly, Flushing kills when it comes to the food scene, and just authenticity / environment. I know you've done it already, but it deserves way more attention than Manhattan's. Literally no one ever talks about Monterey Park / Rosemead / Alhambra outside of L.A. Monterey Park has one of the highest concentrations of Chinese people and businesses in the area, but everyone always focuses on L.A.'s more underwhelming / small Chinatown in Downtown. You should cover it.
YALL ARE THE BEST! THANK YOU! Who paid you to say such nice things about Boston?!? I've been watching you guys for years and can't believe you came to Boston and showed me so many cool spots!
Whoa! What blast you 2 are! I have to listen real close as you talk fast like my kids do... did you mention Seattle growing up? I am in PNWEst lifer, and in my 70's old man..... but WAIT! I can understand your chinese ! ... Cantonese like in Chinatown Vancouver! too cool and great to see new gen still kickin it for Chinatowns:) All the BEST to both of you, family and friends! Cheers Bros ! :)
I have been to all of these Restaurant. These guys are not lying some of the best food I’ve ever eaten and they’re not shy to tell you what your secret is. #HappyInBoston
Both Boston and Philly Chinatowns have some great eats, some are better than NYC including Chinese and Southeast Asian eats (Indonesian, Malaysian, Thai/Lao/Cambodian, Vietnamese, etc). Double Chin is a no for me, their fusion dishes are bizarre and not good flavor combinations like mapo tofu nachos and scallion pancake pizza. It's more like a train wreck of east meets west.
i grew up in Boston and also lived in Los Angeles California, now living in South Carolina. traveled all over the world and i believe that Boston has the best Chinese food. i can't find bake char Siu bao and dark lobster sauce, with or without lobster except in Boston. Kowloon Restaurant.
Good Stuff .. Yes you can say it .. Boston have the BEST Asian food that NY!! Dude I love Chinese, Thai, Malaysia food!! So I'll subscribe to your channel!
I love Boston Chinatown lots of great memories and great food back in the 1980's my friends rented the entire top floor of a building (art studio) Chinatown it has it's own style. My friends and I were art school students and had so much fun and met lots of friendly shop and restaurant owners . Dim sum on Sunday with a case of beer under the table good times
Shout out to shining a light on Boston's old combat zone lol!! This is exactly what all these businesses need right now bcuz the gentrification is real most of the Black and Hispanic neighborhoods have been so gentriFRIED in bike lane riding ass colonizer oil that they're slowly phasing out the culture and the lineages of various nationalities. Chinatown is one of the few neighborhoods that is still holding on to its heritage and culture in spite of developers throwing duffle bags of money. #bostonstrong #takeakneeforKneeland #savebostonculture #supportminoritybusiness
Next time y'all come around should check out Coreanos in Allston. Best Korean fusion around and be sure to try their Coreanos bowl as well as their soy garlic chicken.
Boston's Chinatown has always been a hit or miss for me. I'd love to try more of it, but I can't get over the state of many of the buildings there. I don't want to give names, but I went to a restaurant there once that had a leaking ceiling (on the bottom floor) and the restaurant above it had rats. I wish the city would help with the upkeep of these buildings because so many of the restaurants here are innovative af.
This is why Chinatown is the stop I'm always getting off at when I hop on the orange line. Shout out to Windsor Dim Sum Cafe, 101 Bakery and Ho Yuen Bakery!
I highly recommend gourmet dumpling house & shabu zen if u guys ever do this again! haven’t been to boston in a while but as someone who used to live there it was nice seeing some spots i used to frequent!
Gotta go to Peach Farm next time and have their ginger and scallion lobsters! New Saigon Sandwich was opened for a very long time and had the best banh mi's since they make their own mayo but looks like they closed and Banh Mi Huong Que took over now.
I live in the Boston suburbs and love going to Chinatown for dinner. Gourmet Dumplings house is one of our go to places. And we love going to one of the hot pot places Liuyishou on Kneeland St
yasss supporting the local Chinatown spots! loving it! definitely check out the Egg Puff Lady, Tora Japanese Restaurant, and Sweet Waffles & Boba next time! ;)
Next time Fung Bros come to Boston, go to Malden, Dorchester, and Quincy! They also have good amount of Asian populations and restaurants. And meet my dad and me please! We can have a Fung feast together lol
