I went to Medellín in January and it truly was one of the best trips I’ve been on. I’m watching this video because I missed and you showed it so beautifully. There’s so much to see in that wonderful city.
Wow…Camino 13 is amazing in its own way. I must be stuck in the past as I thought it was still a very dangerous place to visit. Their energy is almost infectious. Thanks
We're so glad to hear that the energy was noticeable in the video. The whole community just felt so alive! It was a really incredible place to visit. We left their feeling so hopeful and positive, it was really neat!
Medellin, Colombia 🇨🇴 The most underrated and is now one of the best cities to visit in South America, I love my country Colombia, Thanks for visiting, greetings from USA 🇺🇸 🙏🇨🇴✌️❤️
It looks awesome, how much green is around the city, I have never thought Colombia was this green and colorful. And people seems very kind and happy :)
Yes! We are so in love with how green Colombia is! It's just gorgeous isn't it? We really, really love this country and are so impressed by all that it has to offer tourists 😊
MEDELLIN since November 2022 is a SMART TOURIST DESTINATION and THE NEW YORK TIMES included Medellin among the best 52 destinations in the world in 2023, welcome.
Medallin seems like a very interesting city to visit! The facts you mentioned made me curious on how such huge societal change was possible, and led me into a bit of a rabbit hole. It seemed like the city had/has some amazing leaders. This was particularly interesting to me: "its homicide rate has decreased by 95% and extreme poverty by 66%, thanks in part to a string of innovative mayors who laid out plans to integrate the poorest and most violent hillside neighborhoods into the city center in the valley below. Medellín is now considered safer than the US cities of Baltimore, St. Louis, Detroit and New Orleans, which appear in the CCSPJP's top 50 list." South America was never at that top of my travelling list except for Peru, but your videos are really changing that :)
Hey thanks so much for you're comment. To be honest it's so motivating to hear you say that you learned something from our VLOG 😊 We believe traveling is a great way to learn new things about different cultures and people and we try our best to share that so it's very encouraging to read comments like this 😌 We appreciate you and want you to know we'll keep on sharing the best of the cultures we meet and places that we visit!
Hola, thanks for the reccos on the 2 guided tour companies. I'll def do the Comuna 13 and football tours. Escaping Toronto late October, flying to Bogota and returning to Canada in April, probably. 🙂 Maybe we'll cross paths.
Oh that is amazing! We are sure you will love it in Medellin, not to mention the rest of the country! Colombia is spectacular. Have you been before or is this your first trip? Either way it sounds like you have an awesome adventure coming up!
@@nicoleandmico This will be my second time. My first time was, well, let's just say, pre internet. 🤣🤣 Yes, they had airplanes back then. They were made of stone and very uncomfortable. 😉
Fun facts. Medellin is officially the #1 city in quality of life in Colombia, Medellin is the only venue in Latin America for the fourth industrial revolution, it is also the only city in Latin America to win a WORLD CITY PRIZE which is the Nobel prize for world urbanism, in July 2022 "TIMEOUT" declared Medellin as the third best city in the world to visit, in August 2022 the WORLD TRAVEL AWARDS awarded Medellin as EMERGING LEADING DESTINATION OF SOUTH AMERICA 2022, and on September 14, 2022 Colombian migration announced that Medellin already dethroned Cartagena in international tourists.
Wow that is amazing!! we can totally see why. We absolutely loved the city, it is among our top places in all of South America for sure. The vibe that the whole city gives off is just infectious!
You guys are my new favorite travel vloggers. One thing I thought could have been added in this vlog is some safety tips for foreigners visiting Medellin for the first time
What 😱! You guys were here and I didn't know that till just now. I'm Colombian 🇨🇴 American 🇺🇸, born and raised the US 🇺🇸 but both my mom and dad are Colombian. What did you think 🤔 of Medellin? I'm currently in Envigado which is next door to Medellin. I'll be moving to India 🇮🇳 next year. Colombia 🇨🇴 is Cool 😎 but that beautiful, Spiritual land is Incredible India 😍. I was there in 2019 and fell in love 💕 with the country, the people, the veg food and spirituality. Gotta love 😍 India. Jai Hind 🇮🇳🙏🏻🥰!
We have VERY basic Spanish and we did just fine! We knew some phrases and understood people in typical situations (e.g. restaurants, cafes, etc). Although knowing Spanish is a great asset, we traveled for 7 months with no issues and we even only learned the basics after 4 months of travel. I would say you should know a few phrases and have Google Translate handy (with Spanish downloaded) and you should be good to go :)
vengan a México aki ay fiestas todo el año pero septiembre es fecha importante nuestra independencia les aseguro que no se arrepentirán diciembre los esperamos con los brazos abiertos 🙏🤗❤️
Not us! Bandeja paisa is still one of my (Mico) fave foods. It's actually very similar to some filipino foods si maybe that's why haha and who doesn't like arepas? They're delicious
