That is SOOO freaking cool! I knew you could make adjustments to blocks on the Helix itself. But I never knew you could use the Exp pedal to make those adjustments! Thanks!!!
the Helix so so complex and feature packed NO ONE except the desgners knows how to use all he stuff it can do :) You're basically set for 7-10 years of guitar goodness for sure
@@SteveSterlacci I was reading that you can do this with an HX Stomp also. Steve, can you investigate and make a video? Even a #shorts type video? This would change the game for people considering a Stomp that are on the fence about which modeler to get.
Pedal Edit Mode is great! I use High and Low Cut EQ at the end of the chain in case I need a quick room tweak, so Pedal Edit pays off there. The other major use is dialing delays and reverbs in on Thursday rehearsals as the sound man saves the board mix for the Sunday services.
Use pedal edit to adjust gain reverb and delay mixes. If it sounds to washy in a tiny room, or in the mix with a second guitarist. Also volume changes during sound check.
Pedal Edit mode on the Helix Floor is phenomenal! I have enjoyed using it since introduced to quickly hands free evaluate Block Parameters and Selections! The Expression Pedal makes it a really easy to sweep the full range of any parameter quickly. This is especially helpful for those parameters which otherwise involve excessive spinning of the rotary encoder. Although Pedal Edit mode is not supported on the HX Stomp, recently I discovered that Pedal Edit Mode is supported on the Stomp XL, with or without an external expression pedal! Albeit more fsw presses are required to navigate and access deeper page parameters.
@@SteveSterlacci Please let me know if you find Pedal Edit Mode on the XL - without an Expression Pedal - to be cumbersome. Or rather still very effective. I have a Stomp which I use w/o an expression pedal. Also have a Floor. I'm considering a XL, but would not be using an outboard Expression Pedal. I could simply use my full featured Helix Floor. I look forward to your hands on feedback about Pedal Edit Mode on the XL.
good to see you again fellow SS :P I dont use pedal edit mode as Im just a hobbyist and usually have it on my desk or bed hooked up to a laptop to edit the tones on the PC or using my hands. I dont play in a band or live so ... but yes its a great feature to have for those that do stand and need to tweak. good stuff as always. Kepp it up SS
I use it frequently during rehearsal and during a gig. I’m playing through HX Effects but it’s the same idea for the most part less the expression pedal
Usually have the exp 1 and 2 assigned to wha and volume so the pedal edit mode allow me to use the pedal live with any other effect/parameter as gain, feedback and mix on delay reverbs etc
I've mostly used it in rehersal when something needed a change in midst of a song. If I have tweaked or created a new preset at home and haven't yet tried it out in a band setting.

@@SteveSterlacci I redid my pedal chain today and two Helix. All my classic "analog" effects> into a helix LT out the 1/4 inch left> into the AUX on my Helix Floor. Making tweaks to my existing main presets this came in really handy. Before I had all my effects going into send/ return one on the LT and had the LT chained to my Helix Floor. Stuff changed obviously. This method beats leaning over the Helix and twisting knobs or mousing around the computer monitor.
@@sjsphotog yeah, most likely will get a floor or LT for my next piece of gear. Only had the PodGO for just under a year. I bought it purely for testing out what kind of tones I want/like. Didn't want to keep shelling out money for amp heads, cabs and pedals. Couldn't go wrong for the price.
Its a neo CB recto something. I forget the pack. I just used an IR so i can match the amps to the same cabinet in HX and Quad Cortex. I may build this preset into something worth sharing!
I've actually blocked mine with hard foam. I don't want to accidentally step on it in a live situation. I don't want my focus redirected if possible when it's gig time ;-)
@@SteveSterlacci Yes :-) I have done the same with the preset up/down switches, because I'm too clumsy with my feet, I wish there was a little more space between the switches,or, you could move the position of the up/down switches. It may come with a future update, I'm hoping ;-)
Hey George! I have to say, not really. Helix is much more gig friendly. But the capture feature is fantastic. With some much needed updating, it can be a real contender
@@SteveSterlacci glad to hear that! I was worried, I just bought the LT in June, and that it was now outpaced! I have to say, once you get the hang of it, it’s so easy to use. I stayed away from things like the helix because it was not intuitive to use- this is amazing!!!
Last night at a gig in a packed venue I tried to adjust the amp model settings on the fly and I must have rolled the knob or something and I lost all my settings to that amp model. 8 snapshots. I accidentally rolled it to a roland jazz chorus. Really messed up my night. Luckily there was only about six songs left.
They don't need to yet. They just rebuilt the whole engine in a free update and still compete at the highest level of modelers. Next gen will blow it all away IMO
I think one of the greatest features of the Helix is that Line 6 has added features etc with free firmware updates rather than constantly releasing new hardware. It's nice to buy the hardware once and have it for so many years.
