Steph is a top 10 player of all time, fully based upon pure skill. LaMelo has good skills but his size and athleticism are most of his game. He might make a few All Star games but he will never be on even Jason Kidd's tier.
@@anthonyjackson4675 there are a lot of players in the history of basketball, so its understandable (even if i dont agree), but if he says steph is not the greatest shooter thats just cope
@@Th1sIsMyLegacy He didn't say he was, he said Steph Curry's career was going the same way with ankle issues to the point where he was almost traded to the Bucks and then ended up signing which turned out to be one of the most undervalued contracts in the history of the league but he managed to turn it around and become the player we see today.
He's had the injury since his rookie year. He missed the start of his first season with the Lakers getting cortizone injections in his knee. IDK if I've ever heard of a player under 30 getting a cortizone injection. His time with the Lakers had multiple games missed due to his knee injury. I hope that he looks into stem cell treatment. Joe Rogan had it done on his shoulder and it completely fixed it. I am not a DR, but at this point Lonzo should consider any option.
Not only that, but if you take a look at their personal histories you find out that they had very rudimentary workouts they’d do as kids that cause an unnecessary amount of strain on your body. Things like running up/down hills with weights. That stuff kills your joints. Couple that with the amount of mileage from playing basketball ever since they were kids and it’s no wonder they’re having lower body issues.
@@ronaldomikethey can train all they want but the damage to their bodies is already done. They have played and trained all year round for their entire childhood their bodies never got a chance to recover. This is what happens when kids play and train one sport all year round we’re starting to see in in baseball too pitchers are tearing their arm ligaments so much younger now.
@@DeadAir21 if students are playing 3 different sports a year that just means they're learning 3 different things. it's better if they just focus on one sport so that they can get better at that particular sport. all this "cross-training" is trash.
@@mamster233 its like crop rotations give thre body a chance to recover the joints that arent be utilzied as heavliy with out lossing out on general athletic preformance. its why lebron and jordan were healthly for so long even though played since childhood. jordan had baseball and they both also played had football.
Last month (March '24), "After playing only two games [in Mexico] Ball left the team due to a ligament injury in his left ankle". So yeah, also an ankle injury.
I don't wanna criticize Lavar. I think he's a great dad despite his flaws. That being said, I think something with the way they trained growing up could be to blame. I saw a research somewhere that says injuries have been more common because players have been demanding all of their body from early ages. If that's true, I can't help but imagine the Ball Brothers where some of who demanded the most. It's a shame, really and I hope that they can bounce back. As natural as it may be, it's hard to see someone "fail" cause they worked too hard
i was gonna comment something similar because this is becoming an issue among european footballers as well. like you said the age at which they start AAU/travel is becoming younger and younger; and the training is becoming more demanding. so by the time they leave college they’ve basically had an NBA career before they even enter the league.
It's the year round basketball. You should have your kids play multiple sports as it helps keep them active but not over using the same body parts and putting the same stress over and over
Dylandoesbasketball made a whole video about this exactly in relation to Lonzo and Lavar. Was Lavar a loving dad? Yes. Should he have slowly ramped up his kids athletic training and weight lifting alongside trained coaches and professionals instead of trying to do it all and take the credit? Yes again. The AAU schedule is brutal and picking just one sport to wear down your body instead of several to balance your growth and reduce injury due to repetition. But recording his kids working out with poor form for hours and even on Christmas without strength or conditioning coaches is just asking for trouble.
@@4ktkaram395Well being real is lonzo will most likely never be able to play again if he does then not as good LaMelo will be injury prone and will most likely end his career or put a dent in his potential.
lingering ankle and knee injuries in 2 brothers...it's either genetics or perhaps the way these guys were brought up. Lavar certainly uses unconventional means to train and teach basketball. Both brothers came up with such unusual jump shot forms...and that's definitely a Lavar Ball issue. Not knowing how they trained...I can only imagine that they were taught the wrong things...
All those urkie jerkie moves. Them stop go, twist aint made for human body. That's why strength and mobility is important. Hurting your ankle with out no contact is crazy wild
Yeah, except worse scoring, shooting, playmaking etc. Lonzo is a mid tier starter on a solid team, Halliburton is a top 15 player in the world. Lonzo doesn't come close to top 50 these days.
Lavar Ball thought it would be a good idea to train both Lonzo and LaMelo when children with advanced drills, with a heavy load designed for adults, even though their bone structures were nowhere near ready for it. This comes at a price;
Yah getting two sons into the nba as top 3 picks is TOTAL mismanagement. How do I mismanage my kids like that? Injuries happen dude. Lamenting lavar as a bad father is insane and just plane hating.
I know literally nothing so my opinion isn't worth anything, but in my opinion it was bad training routines from a young age + terrible footwear + not learning how to minimize injury
@@JadenJPDB He hasn't been in a game since January 14, 2022. I feel bad for Lonzo, but a 2 year recovery time is not something that should give anyone any confidence in his return.
@@RazielXSR Well they said he will be back next season but it's his final chance to show what he is capable of if that all crumbles it's a sad ending for Zo.
I know why these two brothers have injured so much it’s not just LaVarr’s fault but it’s AAU’s fault for having their bodies mistreated that way I hate AAU
@@Terminator-ht3sx because I seen a short video about AAU has done bad job for making everyone less tired in such a stupid way and also AAU Basketball likes mistreating players before NBA this is wrong
The main reason for Lonzo’s knee injury isnt about the shoes but the fact re didnt repair his meniscus after he tore it the first time. He decided to rehab without surgery and playing such a high movement game like basketball with torn meniscus in the knee was a horrible decision that should’ve never been taken.
If you watch any clips of them working out at their house that will tell you everything you need to know. Their awkward techniques may have them cooked beyond repair. I honestly believe in both of them to bounce back but it has to be a healthy season next year.
The reason they suck is those ridiculous ball brand shoes, if they instead partnered with well established brands they would get a real quality shoe that wouldn't injure them They have the tools, talented and confident enough to compete but that ridiculous ball brand messed them up
I think they were both overworked as kids by their dad, but I do believe lonzo will come back though as a shadow of his former self and I think lamelo has a chance to be great if he can get a team around him and change a couple things about his playing style
How is he to blame ? They were relatively healthy when they were training with Lavar, they made it to the league and deviated from what got them there and started wearing the wrong shoes, taking a different training regime and now they getting hurt, Lavar said it best and I hate to say it but he’s right yet again
@@okcthunder0872 He might not be off base on that Levar is to blame. Lonzo's knee's were bad coming into his rookie year. IDK if it's the shoes, or the training, but it's been an issue for a long time.
@@okcthunder0872deviated from what got them there? How when the organizations that drafted them have certified trainers, coaches, medical staff, all things Lavar never gave his kids as he ran them into the ground. Once they got to the NBA grind their bodies were mismanaged and not built for that level of competition due to the awful conditioning of their old man and his insistence they were those shitty shoes
@@okcthunder0872 The wrong shoes were Lavar's. The bad workout forms that were taught to Lonzo still continued despite having world class trainers and physical therapists in LA. Lavar also made his sons social media sensations having them play more games than a child should causing the wear and tear to carry over into the nba
Lamelo is more on the court than lonzo 😂 Lamelo just has like ankle issues but the hornets are a rebuilding team that has young players and misfits unlike the bulls which they have more expectations 😂 I hope lonzo can play next season because lonzo is a great player with good passing and defense to boot
I love the ball brothers but genetics are fucking horrible how all they lower ligaments and feet always cooked bro. Lavar really produced 3 good basketball players who all got plagued by injury every sinlge one of em
Actually, he just signed in Mexico around a month ago or two and only played 1 game due to instantly getting a season endund injury over there…. So uhhhhh
I'm sorry🤔are we going to pretend like these shoes that the NBA players wear are from special fabric and plastic made by Scientists and not in a chinese Sweat-shop😂😂😂
@@WillsonT011 Lonzo himself had said the crap shoe were blowing up after on quarter of basketball...and Lavar was peddling hard trying to get $495 a pair. Seems like it was more about the money and not enough about the quality.
It's funny because even LaMelo and the Hornets won a game to the Celtics this season. But even then, it's so hard to sustain a helpful NBA career when injuries catch up to athletes in the worst way possible
They are multi millionaire brothers under the age of thirty, world renowned athletes and world wide celebrities and there is a small chance of them making it back to the NBA to play or at least commentate on the games. So no, not unfortunate on them .
Well, no, if one of them injures shoulder and one injures foot, it might be unfortunate, both Ball brothers got lower body injurys, there's obviously a common factor, it's most likely due to the fact they train on cement floor a lot during youth. This subject got bring up a lot back about the time Lonzo was to get drafted, and now, it's almost a sure conclusion.
Interesting trivia: American based players usually have significantly weaker ankles than Europeans, because in America you walk a lot more with your shoes on, even inside. Most Europeans never wear shoes inside, so their ankles are stronger naturally, when there is no support from the shoes.
Lavar is a great dad but he fucked up everywhere else, shoes don’t have ankle support for basketball shoes😂, their deadlift form is terrible too I seen those vids and the prices are just like why?
What's crazy is, the fact lamelo was trying to get by Killian Hayes shows, Killian Hayes should have never got drafted. He was Bust and ruined lamelo's full potential with trying to cross him up
The body isn't really able to heal a meniscus injury, that's why they now grow it in a lab for you and you get a transplant. Sadly, it does not only take 6 weeks to fully recover from. There are minor tears that don't do much damage and then there's Lonzos long abuse from his shoes makes a lot of sense.
or the bulls are paying the price of their two 3-peats. they never had a great point guard back then either. When D. Rose got drafted he automatically became the best PG the franchise ever had, and that includes Jay Williams.
Come on now. 27-13 is a pretty good start but lots of average teams have good stretches and then fade. Lonzo getting hurt was just a coincidence. Thinking he's the difference between being a sub .500 team and a top 3 in a conference level team are a bit laughable. He had worked himself into being a decent player but not irreplaceable.
