I think a big reason that they were not overcome with trauma is because the deaths did not involve spilling blood everywhere. Those people just dropped dead from no visible wounds. They might as well be sleeping, eternally >_

Kinda a correction: Tomochika is more concerned for the people who will go after them than themselves. I mean she tried to convince them to not fight but they didn't listen. During the mecha scene, she just only ask Yogiri on why he didn't just kill them already which, Yogiri respond that the atk wasn't directly at them.

You can definitely see why he was in a facility in the first episode opening. The only one who can really handle him is his Asaka-san who sadly is in another world. But she certainly taught him well enough about morals that he isn't just killing everyone left and right. The world order definitely is in need of an overturning, but who will die in the processs?

What made me think is the fact, that the spirit and the Robot, that both are "supernatural" immediately understand his power, and the ghost knows, that he could erase her. Also the Robot says he wouldn't bring something as dangerous as him to his world, this together with the fact that he kills people with resistance to instant death magic, makes me think he's not using instant death magic. I really have no clue but, I think the way this is going, it might be revealed, that the sages accidentally isekaied the grim reaper from "our" world into theirs, right in the moment he was "disguising" as a highschooler. My fav thing is that Dannoura is actually not an annoying female char even though she latches on to him. But she's self aware that he's the only reason she's alive so far. That's why I can't wait for her to finish her training with the new sci-fi, transforming panties weapon lol.

I think the best way to describe this series is like a bunch of drunk college students piling up stuff on the one guy that passed out. You are not waiting for seriousness, just for the moment when the show begins. Basically, for me, this story boils down to waiting for the moment someone gives Takato a reason. Like the guy fighting the robot. He told Dannoura his reason not to kill him. And that MoFo just goes and gives him one not two seconds later. Hence why watching him drop like a fly on Raid is so damn hilarious. As is watching everyone puzzling over the aftermath of Takato's matter-of-fact executions. Knowing what kind of stuff he ends up killing down the line, and the waves such Death Note moments create... I'm just so eager to see it happen. 10/10 will recommend this comedy. Together with Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic and Villainess Lv99, great comedy anime. PD: My only complain is Mokomoko's voice. It's a bit... grating.

I truly like this show. Like you said it's a parody of the iskeai genre and the many titles that have had the OP iskeai protagonist who goes on a grand adventure to kill the demon lord and collect girls like post stamps as they all bicker for their love. While there are no girls (yet) and it's not a demon lord (although the Sage who brought them here can be considered one since all the sages she brings are basically pupets and she is unhinged and her smile just gives me the creeps) there is definitely a theme here. I like how our FMC Tomochika had the guts to ask him about what's the reason he'd go and kill someone. Like he said if he just killed everyone in front of him who got in his way, he'd be a psychopath although he already kinda is. He's emotionless practically... He doesn't give a damn if you got starving kids at home if you mess with him you're dead. Like what happened with our cat girl wanna be friend and their whole gang. Yogiri was like alright... Everyone behind me die. They drop like flies. You... Drop half dead... Dies Your anckle die... Dies Your right arm die... Dies Your eyeballs die... Is not dead but he'd wish he'd be dead. He's blind and even after getting his eye removed and healing it back it doesn't remove the curse... Even turned into a vampire he still doesn't see. It's insane honestly. I don't think there's a limiter on how his ability works. He probably didn't use it much back in the real world so this isekai is probably a good chance to test it out properly. I do like how unhinged he is and he doesn't forgive a crime. In other animes the cat girl would've had a slap on the wrist and been let go but here Yogiri is like I don't give a shit and kills her anyway. I didn't see the robot being nice but that Sage had it coming to him. He was oozing arrogance and killed all those poor people because they got in the way. And he deserved the death sentence even after Tomochika asked if he was gonna kill him and he said he probably wouldn't because the attacks weren't aimed at them. But that robot is something else... He is an invader which is great world building because it shows us there is different worlds that is not just Earth that have been summoned here. The guardian is a fun concept for our girl because otherwise if she didn't get some ability or weapon she'd be useless so now we'll see her in action too. I did laugh when the guardian was like yeah I casually hid that sword as your underwear... Totally not an issue 🤣 That's just hilarious to me. I like the series so far. It has decent pacing... Not bad animation either. It's not anything to write home about but it does the job and it's not ugly. Like even the train and the robot weren't 3D CGI which I'll always appreciate. But like you said... The character designs are consistent and never have I went over these past two episodes that looks ugly or that was a bad character model. It's consistent which some studios struggle to achieve. Really excited for ep 3 and If it continues at this rate... It might actually be a show that I'd want to see a S2 on. Great review Brandon keep it up 🔥🙂 Edit: I really vibe with the op and ed songs... Like the full op is really jam to listen to and I'd recommend it if you need some background music.

Using his powers before the Isekai is a 50/50 He used them constantly when he was a child but due to what happens in his past until the present throughout his adolescence he did not use them again until Isekai Where does he use that power, the only one he has to protect himself and Tomochika while they look for a way to return home, on the other hand if he experiences its power since as a child he went straight But now that he needs information to return and his power is literally to kill, he has to find a way to get them to talk without killing them instantly.

In the side story of v2 of the novel, asaka basically teaches him about morals and human ethics in order to not killing people unconsciously. And he basically massacring people out there in v2 when he goes out to save Asaka from being kidnapped from other organization. You see the intro scene from ep 1? Yep that's the time when he saved Asaka and he killed everyone who stands in his way including the people working at the facility from where yogiri lives with a straight face not knowing what's going on at the sidelines

Several characters such as sage Yoshifumi and classmate/world's sword master Shigehito Mitadera made him upset when he saw them abusing their power to made weaker characters submit. Even was tempted to kill Shigehito out of disgust when he killed Hanakawa in front of his eyes. The only reason he doesn't let emotions show or move him is so he won't kill people in the heat of the moment. In fact even when he was a newborn baby and before miss Fox took care of him, Yogiri killed everything on sight when throwing a tantrum or crying.

I would say it is in the title as his instant death is not the ability to use instant death magic as he has no casting or what so ever, so no matter if you are immune to instant death magic it will not stop his ability from instantly killing you with just a thought. Wonder what else he could do other then target party parts (which is mostly still killing you) and a time delay. And even I am not sure it was a time delay then just telling them to die to scare them but only thinking of killing them at a later moment.

They omitted that detail, but Yogiri explains to Tomochika that he told him along the way that his ability was irreversible, once he makes a decision, it cannot be stopped or stopped. But there is a maneuver game where you can set a time when death comes as long as they die in the end and that's what he did, he delayed the death of the two guys since he had already decided Kill them and that decision would not go away, the only thing it did was give them seconds more to live. Mainly because I take into account Tomochika's emotions since she felt that if she saw someone die who, despite betraying them, helped them, it would not be good for her. It is the only reason why he decided to delay death so that she would not see him directly.

I think his morals are simple. He won't kill someone just for being annoying. He will kill if he sees someone as a potential threat. It is not just about inconvenience, it's about someone who is intent on negativity affecting him. You can tell because he was really trying to give the benefit of the doubt to the Sage character. He kept on saying something to the effect of, " oh this is all an accident, so no need to kill anyone". But then that sage expressed he was throwing out attacks not caring if he kills anyone. That disregard for the life of others is why he killed that guy, because all that damage was not accidental.

Tomochika wasn't a threat to him and was the only one who bothered to help him at the start. That's partly why she lived, but also her boobs. Like you said, aside from his skill he's kind of normal. His morals are basically the equivalent to a rattlesnake. If you don't bother him, he won't bother you. You piss him off and you're gonna pay.

It’s definitely a parody of OP characters. The FMC and MC act like a manzai or comedy routine. Takada is very unbothered and unhinged and tbh the princess is unhinged like Takada. Also Sengoku Youko and Witch and Beast came out. Also anything you think can become a reality is an interesting one I have seen somewhere which might get animated eventually

Worth noting that Sage Lain may be immortal, but Yogiri can kill the very concept of immortality. Same with Gods who are omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. He just kills those concepts.

Love this anime. Was telling all those guys to stop before they get dropped...and they got dropped. Definitely picking this one up. :P Can't wait to see that goddess get dropped....because we all know she'll drop the moment she even tries to confront him....the only question on if she survives is if she realizes what he can do before she tries anything in front of him... I can definitely see the invaders possibly being the good guys given how the Goddess was acting. Something tells me that immortal army is gonna get dropped to. Wonder how that vampire lady will react to this. Who knows maybe she go confront him asking to die. Some immortal characters sees their immortality as a curse so time to see if they will do that with this one.

@@micpie9480 I see. Any word on if it's a 11 to 12 episode season or it it's getting a full 24? (split cour or not) And yeah maybe she's careful around him the first time around when they first meet. It appears as of ep2 she's at least aware he can insta kill things though I'm not sure how much of a threat she considers him yet. She doesn't seem to concerned about it yet. :P Also he was asleep when she met them at the bus first time around so only Tomochika would recognize her....If she meets him while Tomochika is not around she might have some kind of advantage if that means anything... Don't recall if she's given her name while talking to the people on the bus..else he might at least know her name through Tomochika's retelling of what happened. In theory this dude could die....I would guess some very large scale attack would have to be very quickly launched at him since he seems able to dodge deadly stuff fired at him since his ability allows him to detect deadly intent aimed at him. But the show seems to be really pointing out how good Tomochika's eyes are. So that might be very challenging to pull off because it's unclear if he can kill targets he can't see but know are around somewhere giving off killing intent and I bet that Tomochika might notice even far off enemies if they are out in the open like high up in the sky. We'll see maybe. Definitely looking forward to how things pan out. :D I also noticed he seems to have this ability before he got sent to this world. That's pretty unique. Most isekies, the mc has their cheat skill only after they get isekied but he already had it. Ether he got it somehow from that lab shown at the start of ep1 or he either came from another world or briefly was sent to one when he was too young to remember. I'm also curious if his ability works on plants...or robots but I suspect maybe he can't kill stuff that isn't alive. That ghost seems to suggest he can kill stuff that's already dead but maybe she's just being peranoid after watching him drop people with just his thoughts. :P The invader from episode 2 might be immune if he's controlling that mech thing remotely...unclear if mc can remote kill someone controlling something.... :P I hope someone keeps a body count after this anime ends. The ways people just drop after he kills them is hilarious. I chuckle every time it happens. :P

This was a decent second episode imho... I thought the comedy was borderline decent/good, and the action was good for a one-punch man type of story... I'm still not sure if the MC can really obliterate spirits and the undead, but I can understand them not wanting to test his god-like powers. Anyways, I'm hoping we'll get more into the mystery of what is actually going on with the aggressors and sages next episode when the two leads will probably reach the capital.

This is def one of the best anime of early 2024, plus it's getting dub too. Hopefully it'll get more seasons, as far as i know there's 11 or 16 volumes. Season 1 would probably be volumes 2 , 3 or 4.

It's not "sometimes." Yogiri can simply when the person he wishes to die, dies. However, he cannot take back his ability after it is activated.

It's no like he wants to kill them just because they attack him.. his second ability detects if the attacker has intentions to kill him.. that's how he determines that he is going to kill the attacker. You'll see what he is very soon! If i am not mistaken, you can name what he really is with just one word.. maybe it'll blow your mind when it's revealed!

Even if what she said was true, it doesn't justify for her crimes of kidnapping weak people with no powers to earn money.. that's Human Trafficking. He doesn't need an ability to tell him that she is bad and was involved in many kidnappings and probably involved in killing people as well.

I have two very big issues with this show that make me consider dropping this 1. The characters are meh at best and annoying at worst. Yogiri is a deadpan character who has no motivation but happens to have the strongest ability known to fiction. That makes it hard for me to root for him since his character is very empty. He's Saitama without his comedic charm and motivation. Tomochika's only existence is being a straight man in the comedy. And don't get me started with her guardian deity. The show would be better without her. 2. The story is all over the place. I don't know whether it's trying to be serious or funny (most of the comedies don't land to me, BTW). This episode alone introduced dozens of discardable characters that serve no purpose other than driving the already established points home (Yogiri is OP. The sages are bad guys. We all knew that since the first episode). You can't just randomly call it satire to defend the bad writing. I mean, Onepunch Man is also a superhero's satire but it has MUCH better writing and characterization. This reminds me of Reign of 7 Spellblades where the author just threw in random shits every new episode. It would be much better if the writing was more consistence.

I agree I also dislike her in the light novels but it was at least bearable. I wish they would’ve given her a different voice

For those who dont get what this series is all about, its just basically a parody of every isekai trope full of overpowered characters. And yogiri is a gag here where he can kill everything in a single thought just like one punch man, saitama and yogiri are alike since they always "1 hit" every opponents surrounding them. And this is not your every typical/generic isekai that you always thought of, and ita because of who yogiri really is, you guys might be confused on how even yogiri got his power since before isekai, it was already shown at the start of ep 1, yogiri was in a lab. And i dont want to spill all the info about it since it will be a big spoiler so you'll find out later episodes...

They added this satisfying clang as an sfx (plus the purple pulse) for his instant death when in the manga it's just them dropping dead. I like the show really playing up the "boring" part of "boring overpowered hero" which is an even more extreme version of Saitama whose basic techniques are still nonetheless visually impressive. It also parodies the isekai genre once you see more of the sage candidates acting exactly according to their clichés.

He does actually. He can’t transcend reality for example he can’t kill the author or the audience and the author can nerf him and just rewrite some of his kills (for example he can bring everyone back to life or give that guys eyesight back) but that would look like a self insert

I have issues where OP characters are taken seriously and the writing can't keep up, but if you make the show funny from the getgo you just wanna go along with the insanity. that's how One Punch Man got me at the start and when it got into crazy good arcs i was like ayooooo
