@@EvsPersonal No, they are extremely muscular but that is hard work, not genetics in particular (maybe genetics for building muscle but not strange or unique)
Phil Heath is the first bodybuilder I think of as having a unique physique. He has that unmatched 3D quality to his muscle on a skeletal frame that isn’t typically considered ideal for bodybuilding. Plus, I can’t think of any other bodybuilder as complete. No weak muscle groups.
Absolutely spot on. No wonder his nickname is The Gift. His only Achilles heel was his midsection later on in his Olympia-winning career. But in termos of muscle development, no weak muscles.
I would actually argue that Derek Lunsford is more unique than Andrew Jacked. Andrew is somewhat similar to Samson, (both tall and esthetic while still massive), while Derek is a shorter guy with a clavicle width just as wide and a waist just as narrow or even smaller than Andrew or Samson. To top it off he has probably the best back in the entire IFBB right now.
In my view, Serge Nubret was very unique. He had what was called back in his day a "pantherishness" to his physique that no one else had. Sergio Oliva was an unique bodybuilder if ever there was one.
Interesting vid and really got me thinking… When I think of unique body builders, in the ilk of Mr. Platz, I go to Chris Dickerson (hate him or not). Just like Platz, if you cover Chris’s head from a shot, I can pick him out from any other competitor…
I like this video, uniqueness if that is even a word, is something we've lost over time when the physique all get so enormous they become much more similar
It's not politics. I know Brian personally, and he bemoaned the fact that he could never get his legs bigger!! He knew they were a bit small in comparison to his upper body, which may have been the best ever!!
@@mikthe2004 Give him my regards. And when it comes to weak body parts, how about from Franco's feet to around 5'4 off the ground? Franco had a strongman/powerlifter physique, which is where he really shined. He shouldn't have even been sharing the stage with his competitors. Bodybuilding is first and foremost a beauty contest for men, and Brian had that type of esthetic and wasn't acknowledged enough in my view, as many weren't because of inside meddling.
Orville Burke, Mike Mattarazzo, Shawn Ray, Theiry pastel, Joel Stubs, caprise Murray, Akim Williams, Al Aguste, Andreas Muntzer. So many unique physiques.
I disagreed with some of this. Paul DiMayo (Quadzilla) is similar to Tom Platz legs-wise. My top ten unique physiques are; 1. Markus Ruhl 2. Paul Dillett 3. Chris Dickerson 4. Kai Greene 5. Later Ronnie Coleman (alienesque) 6. Dorian Yates in his time 7. Tom Platz in his time
Imma go off the top. Frank Zane, Tom Platz, Bill Paris, Dexter Jackson, Franco Columbu, Paul Dillett, Lee Priest, Big Ramy, Markus Ruhl, Dorian Yates, Shawn Ray. Different reasons for everyone, all super memorable imo.
Jean Pierre Fux, Art Atwood, I’d say nowadays James Hollinshead has a very unique physique, I’m thinking more in terms the way some people are out together, also paco batista was very unique
If you're talking unique without considering desirable...then I'd say Nathan De Asha. Mark knows I'm not a fan of his physique..unique though for sure.
Serge Nubret is the G.O.A.T of aesthetics, still, to this day, so to claim his physique wasn't unique is ridiculous. It's ludicrous also to state that Sergio Oliva did not have a unique physique, that's madness
