@@tamaranisevic3268 yes ans it doesn't help at all if someone says "It's really simple!" because when I clearly don't understand it, it just makes me look stupid..
I really want to watch an episode where Josh or Gabbie gives cooking instructions in Korean and Ollie have to follow them to make a complete dish/meal 😅
I would love this lol! You could also reverse it and give Ollie a Korean recipe he has to read out loud to them 😂 OR MAYBE HE HAS TO MEMORIZE IT AND THEN SAY IT
That is a good idea! For my German 1 class in high school, our first semester's final was following a recipe to make a dessert. If you showed up with the dessert, you passed, cuz clearly you can read the instructions :)
Please bring this series back! Not necessarily in the same format if it's not fun for Ollie, but there must be a way to start it up again that's enjoyable for you both and still entertaining for us. The 'alone in Korea' stuff was amazing, too.
Oh noes, I want her to try it... for the lols, because I'm sure she will suffer XD Spanish grammar is vast and have quite a few non-descriptive weird names [unless you really know your etymology prefixes and suffixes and roots]... and common usage (in latinamerica at least) is all over the place XD
ollie knows a little french, probably learnt it in school. so it would be interesting how much french he remembers when he speaks with Gabie. and since french and spanish are in the same language family, ollie may pick it up ok. i’ve been learning french on my own since 13yo, for over 10 years now, but because i have never used it in real life, i keep losing what i’ve learnt. but when i try to learn spanish, it’s relatively easy for me to pick up because i already know similar words in french
Josh: “what is the dictionary form of *do*? Ollie: “Haeyo (let’s do), Hae (do it)” Josh: “that’s the colloquial fo-“ Ollie: “Haeda ( it’s the Sun), Hannah” Ollie: keeps on interrupting Josh LOL
I believe in You Ollie! Keep at it. (If nothing else, you bring me many laughs!) Much love from the USA
ollie has mentioned it before in past videos he watches a lot of korean movies. i don’t watch any other korean media, only KE and Jolly but i’ve picked up many common words. but if i had to converse in korean, i wouldn’t be able to. it seems like ollie does understand bits and pieces of conversations in korean, just takes some time for his brain to process, and even longer to reply back
There needs to be a challenge where everyone around Ollie that can speak Korean only speaks Korean to him! Remember how much he thrived when he needed to?
Following Ollie's language journey is a really helpful way to understand Korean grammar! It's like a fog is slowly being lifted the more I listen to the explanations ! Invaluable content 🤍
almost 4 years later!!!! I have mixed feelings. I suppose Korean lessons are not coming back. A quick note, please arrange the videos in the playlist to go from oldest to newest, it would make it easier to follow chronologically. Thank you very much for bringing joy to my life over the years. God bless you all.
btw - I am struck again by how much I love the Jolly set! such great deep colors and warmth and whimsical points here and there. I enjoy it so much every time I watch a Jolly episode :) Lizzie did an incredible job because it's not only so pleasing but also really catered to the vibe of Jolly :D
You guys have inspired me to learn Korean. I know some Spanish and I do daily exercises in Duolingo. Now I’m starting Korean. If I like it, I’m going to look into Rosetta Stone. Wish me luck!
Yay finally!! Whenever I'm lazy and don't want to study Korean my mom tells me to watch some jolly and I'll learn a little but I kept having to tell her that you haven't done a Korean lesson in ages which is so sad ㅠㅠ 😅 I love all your videos but I really like watching your Korean lessons! Love you guys and all the Jolly people~ ❤️
Also a Jolly lesson here: When Ollie is learning korean, the prease 'shut up' is used instead of ''you're an idiot'.

Shut up the phrase isn't a bad word, it's actually elegant words. The translation would be '말하지마' in Korean. Koreans need to know it. Shut the fuck up, would be 닥쳐. The word shut up isn't a bad phrase. I always wanted them to teach properly.
