Explain Muonium in one piece terms? Okay I'll give it a shot. Picture Kizaru (a proton) surrounded by a bunch of regular marines (electrons), and Luffy (a muon, which is an elementary particle similar to electrons but has a much greater mass) is attempting to sneak up on Kizaru by disguising himself as one of those regular marines. Luffy beats up one of the marines, steals his clothes, and attempts to join the crowd. (replacing an electron and becoming an antimuon) But as it turns out his stolen outfit was from a vice admiral or something, and now he has a marine behind him asking for orders. (an electron has joined the antimuons sphere of influence, which technically makes the antimuon its own atom, and that is what we refer to as Muonium) This whole bit is of course immediately discovered because luffy beat up that vice admiral in front of the whole crowd, so now luffy and the marine that was following him immediately run in seperate directions (muonium decays in 2.2 microseconds.) So yeah, muonium is just that brief moment where a muon is technically an atom become it has its own electron orbiting it. What any of that has to do with the one piece story is beyond me, but hey it was a fun writing prompt.

To tie into this theory My theory is Luffy will develop 3 forms of the Sungod Nika that coincide with the phases of the Sun, his first form is the dawn phase as he has just awoken, he will gain a midday form and a sunset/dusk form. And these will be a special version of the 3 versions Zoans typically gain. The Gorosei referred to Luffy as being in his "white form" white being his current hair and his moves are named similar aka 'Gomu Gomu no Dōn Wippu' or white whip but in the english translation it's Gomu Gomu no DAWN whip. I think each version will have a different hair colour as foreshadowed by his red hair in the chapter 1091 and the names of these will be some clever play on words. As for the colours they are will be based on classical colour representation in Japan White is a colour long associated with deities in Japan Red is a Colour often used when representing the Sun as per the Japanese flag. And another colour representing the Sun in Japan is gold. So his Dawn, Noon and Dusk forms will be white haired, red haired and golden haired. I'm guessing dawn is white, dusk is red and noon will be golden as that is when the sun is at its highest and strongest. Edit. It has been pointed out that the translations on the wiki may be incorrect and it is probably simply just dawn whip not white whip in the original text. The wiki states it as ゴムゴムの白いドーン鞭ウィップ or gum gum white dawn whip and has it directly translated as just white whip and this is potentially incorrect. However I still think there will be white dawn followed by red dusk and gold noon at a later date. Thankyou for the corrections to my mistakes from the sources I was using.

Immediately hearing the comparison of the Mother flame to Nuclear energy makes sense. The amount of energy produced to destroy an island, or the energy to level whole areas. But whats even funnier is if you google calories for Uranium (powers nuclear reactors) 1g releases 20billion calories of energy. Which Lets compare that to the Mother Flame. If Luffy eats it he would have near unlimited energy and probably never feel exhausted from using his devil fruit. But to add on to that theory. Franky/surviving Vegapunks will work on harnessing that energy to work on stuff or figure out the giant robot

@GrandLineReview here is my translation of Muonium: To start some physics that will help explain: Muon = heavy electron, antimuon = heavy electron with a positive charge, hence ‘anti’ Muonium = electron (-ve particle) + antimuon (+ve heavier particle) This creates a rare exotic type of atom with increadibly high energy which is extremely unstable (similar to the mother flame) The motherflame appears a relatively sizeable object, meaning it would be composed of trillions of these Muonium atoms (i.e. very unstable, very big boom if not contained properly) Hope this makes some sense 😂🙌❤️

I understand that my theory has a next to nill chance of happening, but I'd love it if the mother flame is fed by death and once it grows enough becomes amaterasu. Ok hear me out I have a crazy theory about the mother flame. So we always referred to Luffy and joy being related to the sun, and the mother flame has incredible amount of energy something like the sun. so what if the mother flame is the same as that. What if Vegapunk some how replicate the essence of joy boy or some kind of power like nika’s. Vega punk has already been able to clone people and spliced DNA so maybe he was given some sort of DNA of joyboy or something to use to make a new power source to run the ancient weapons. And honestly it seems like something emu would do, she makes the power of the same person who would free everyone, be the power she uses to control and dominate everyone.

I have a background in chemistry so I can try to help explain the Atomu thing and why it’s probably wrong Most people know the atom is made of a nucleus of protons (positively charged) and neutrons (no charge) with smaller electrons (negative charge) flying around the outside. But here’s the interesting part, what keeps all those positively charged protons mashed together in the nucleus. Positive charges should repel each other. Turns out there’s this force called the strong nuclear force that explains this phenomenon. Nuclear fission is harnessing that force as kinetic energy we can use to create electrical energy. Basically using radiation to fire a small particle at a big atom, splitting it into smaller atoms and capturing that force in the process. This is what we do in nuclear reactors. However, if Oda wants to be scientifically accurate, this is not what should occur in the Mother Flame. The mother flame is based on the sun’s energy which is nuclear fusion. This occurs in stars. Basically the sun and other stars burn hot enough that they can fuse smaller atoms together into bigger atoms, and the strong nuclear force energy is released here as well but actually in a much larger quantity. This energy continues to fuel the star’s heat over billions of years. We have not figured out how to replicate this on earth mainly because of the incredible temperatures required to do it. This is more likely what the Mother Flame in One Piece is. Sorry for the long message, hopefully it’s easy to understand 😅

Im not convinced luffys gonna eat the mother flame. A new form already would be kind of crazy and nika has always been described with how luffy looks now. Even the vegapunk recognizes the appearance as the white warrior.

So I guess the fire/supersayian-colored Luffy may be canon after all. (Theoretically)

Technically his final form should be Reverse. How that would look is a mystery.

Zorro is the closest to having an eye patch... There are many characters with scars yet he is the only one with one that keeps his eye closed... I also think he has a lot more to his character. From learning the technique to beat Mr 1 to being assigned as the king of Hell.. All the gorosei being demons.. This might mean that he's destined to betray and fight against luffy in the end... Like a God verse devil sort of thing... This sort of thing no one would see coming due to his fierce loyalty though I believe the signs are there....

The way the flame looks suspended in the giant vat immediately reminded me of cold fusion, which would be a perfect energy source. I think that ties into the development of the atomic bomb you spoke about while still being more sci-fi based and more optimistic than the immediate result of having developed fission irl.

I read that historically the use of an eyepatch was not about eye insury but about having one eye that is used to darkness, so when they enter the inside of a ship they can but away the eyepatch and see better there resulting in more safety.

One thing I really found interesting about this chapter was how doflamingo said the thing about going to “higher ground”. Maybe it’s just because of the way I read his character, but it almost seemed to be mocking the idea to me. Like just that isn’t going to be enough. Like they’ll all fight for the red line, but that isn’t even high enough. Something that I only just realized; Maybe Imu *wants* the water level to raise, in addition to wiping out countries that disobey the world government, it also works to help cull devil fruit users.

I am surprised that the most obvious reference hasn't been referenced. A & (to) Mu is not only atom, it is also A (beginning) to Mu (nothingness/end). It denotes that all life begins and ends with the motherflame, in the same way that atoms are the origin of life on Earth. In other words, this is not only a VegaPunk project to create a nuclear-style weapon, it is also a way to harness the essence of life (and death) itself. This clearly ties into not only the void century, but also the origins of life in the One Piece as a whole, since we're referencing gods and all. We don't really have any information on the origin of these gods the same way we do say Zeus or Hades (they came from titans, and titans from primordial entities like Erebus). It's likely that the mother flame is the essence of a primordial entity who we know nothing about, and we'll learn about at the end. IMU will probably be some part of that primordial entity (e.g. A&Mu: Kami and Demon King Piccolo / (or much less comparative but likely more influential on Oda) Kaguya, chakra and the Infinite Tsukuyomi) and the separation of the primordial entity created IMU, the mother flame, and devil fruit. But this is just speculation, what do I know?

The continent of Mu getting mentioned made me think instantly of Mega Man Starforce 2's version of it, alongside Golden Sun's, Lemuria, in which the habitants live for far much longer than normal humans.

The unusual huge wave that affecting the restaurant ship on Sanji's backstory maybe an effect of Imu's doing on some island far far away.

I can see him eating it as a way to stop the 5 elders from getting the mother flame. Like a last ditch effort to keep them from getting ahold of it like a child haha.
