Developing and manufacturing the MRX consumed 8 years of my life and was an interesting challenge. That's me riding the bikes in the video! Many of the pictures used were of rough prototypes, and not too many of the production versions. Nice job, though, and thank you for putting this together. Dan Fischer

I remember reading a review for this bike years ago. The bike was originally designed to take the Aprilia 1000cc v twin rotex engine. However for some reason Aprilia could/would not supply the engine after they said they would, so he was stuck with a frame for a v twin engine and no engine. That's why it ended up with the 650 cc engine .

The problem is the bike was supposed to use a big bore Rotax V-Twin, but the agreement was voided by Rotax (most point to Aprilia for making a fuss) and Hyosung happened to step up. At the power level intended, this bike would've been absolutely fantastic

I came across Fischer Motorcycles a few years ago, when it was still nearly possible to buy one used. It was awesome to find a US assembled sportbike, even with the Hyosung 650. I, as you mentioned, was blown away by the styling of the bike, and it was made to track and hug the corners. I do still want to get one, and Dan does still respond on Facebook, I wrote him a few years ago because I was planning on purchasing a fairing set to mod to a different bike, but that plan went south. Still want to get one of these, but good luck. Thank you for the good vid, Dan Fischer certainly deserves it. I really hope that he does bring the Fischer back.

Unfortunately, compared to the competition the EBR 1190 was underpowered and overpriced. It was also lacking a little in technology. It's price point was aimed at the potential Ducati Panigale riders and with the long standing history of Ducati it's hard to merge into the market with that being your main competition.

The SV650Ss engine was in fact made with Hyosung, and in fact the two companies worked together in the making of this bike. So the engine isn't actually a Japanese motor.
@VikingRul3s
@VikingRul3s 6 лет назад
I see.... Being a Hyosung owner and fan i would like to know where you got those "facts" from? Cause as far as i know Hyosung first started collaborating with Suzuki around 2010. It was however Suzuki's SV650 engineer team who made the first GT650 (after an "fight" the team quit from Suzuki and contacted Hyosung to setup a new contract). So the first GT650 was designed and produced by and at Hyosung, the engine on the Fisher as well
@VikingRul3s
@VikingRul3s 6 лет назад
Well as i mentioned that's also ½ true, just that the engineers from Suzuki SV650 team quit and joined Hyosung. BTW they quit cause they wheren't allowed to make some changes they wanted (guessing wider bore and a little higher CR, leaning more towards super-twins, cause that's the only real difference) None the less, it's all made at Suzuki now and have been at least since the EFi models came around
@malcolmnuttall3165
@malcolmnuttall3165 5 лет назад
Hyosung are a major industrial company, in Korea, with many different types of machinery be built, the 650 vtwin had it's heads shaped in a crude way to make it look different from the Suzuki, and for a large company the electrics are surprisingly crap and dodgy.
@huffingfarts

@Death666wish
@Death666wish 7 лет назад
I know this bike, probably because I own two Hyosung 650's. It is indeed rare, which makes it hold it's price, but it also makes parts availability a nightmare as I understand reading through the Hyosung sub forum for MRX. Strange they used the cab'd engines as Hyosung switched to EFI in 2009 (mid 2008 actually). Maybe it was a cheaper deal for them to get the older engines? 80hp is a bit optimistic, it's 72 at the crank if I'm not mistaken.

I know I'm like a year and a half late to this but there's an important detail here being overlooked. I don't know exactly what the class structure was like in 2009 but nowadays by CCS rules and a lot of other smaller club racing organizations that use CCS rules (Like the LRRS I ran in) the lightweight class is entirely made up of SV650s with a few Ninja 650s, Ducati Monsters, and even a stray EX500 or two. This bike would slot perfectly in that category and given the high end suspension and brake components this bike would probably have been a force to be reckoned with.

The hyosung 650 is a great engine its very torquey,but the rest of the bike especially the elctric part is crap.This bike is pretty interesting its kind of a begginer bike like a ninja 650 and i think its unfair to compare this bike to a 600cc supersport.
@garyhughes9649
@garyhughes9649 3 года назад
Pablo it might be unfair to compare them but 606 50s kind of get lumped into the same category and that 650 twin is much much weaker then a good 600 inline 4 Super Sport ask Ducati about that. You would need probably at least an 800 or an 850cc V-Twin pretty hotly tuned to compete with the Japanese 600. Centimeter per centimeter the 600 class is one of the stronger classes by quite a bit.

You think one of the big four would allow their engine in a production bike that would make them look bad? Why is it honda or Kawasaki or others do not make a real sport bike with a great V twin? Lighter and cheaper than a 4. I would kill for that bike with reliable 100 hp v twin. Better torque, than 4 and most riding does not need extreme speeds, make power where it is needed in mid range where most street riding is done. NO way one of the big 4 could not make this a reality, 100 hp V twin in sportbike weighing in at 400 lbs wet. WHY do they not build that?

They are claiming 85HP (at the crank,so subtract about 8-9 at the wheel) but only 40.5 ft-lbs of torque. That is not very impressive, but might just serve the market there very well.

Sometimes, they have their women with them and they want to race me,,, I give them a chance and then I blow past them on my back wheel,,,damn sure love doing that!. Oh yeah by the way,,,I'm a 70 yr old man on a liter gsxr,,,,that REALLY upsets them.

scott merrow Thanks. Yes I do have a Harley, as well as a S1000RR. Just because someone has a Harley doesn't mean they are automatically a "Harley boy". I could care less about that, it was a bike I liked and I bought it. I'm not one of those "If it's not a Harley, it's not a real bike" guys. Hence the BMW. I just thought it was funny the way he made that statement.
@scottmerrow7617
@scottmerrow7617 7 лет назад
You like to talk don't you? Of course you have a Harley...that's why you made your insulting comment in answer to the original posters insulting (to Harley owners) comment. I think Harley's are for people who need/want to be the center of attention and that you have more money than brains. If you thought his comment "was funny" you should have just said so and not taken a dig at him like you did. I had no excuse for jabbing at you, just felt like it. Anything else?

We had these in Indonesia, cant remember exactly what year it was. Unfortunately, it didn't do well in terms of sale.The problem was, these motorcycle were brought by local(or partially Chinese) manufacturer that started out by selling copies of other brand. These model were legit because they use the Fischer brand. I believe they brought it here as parts(knocked down) and rebuilt it here, thus the price was not as high as the other fully imported bikes.
@Simple_Youtube

Why the POS engine.... what a fail!!! All Fischer has to do is put in a good EFI engine. That's it. If buy it then.

I guess some people are just stupid, and make stupid business decisions. "Deck out a bike with Brembos and Ohlins, this'll be great! Oops, there goes all our budget, all we can afford are these old-model Hyodung engines that no American will touch because they know Hyosung is notoriously unreliable cheap garbage...oh and don't make any attempts at weight saving, we can just rely on the fact that we're ''all murican made!"... people will flock to it!"

Im a DEDICATED Rider..I live here in Colorado and ride 90% of the year..The roads dont get covered like people think unless you are UP in the mountains..I ride to the 7-11 almost everyday..Its only 3 blocks and it keeps fuel moving through all 4 bikes..2 of which are carbd..Anyway that bike does have nice lines and has a great setup...That motor was the death of it.If it would of used its own powerplant or even ANY Japanese engine..Kind of like a Lotus type thing..Lotus Chassis and Toyota Engines..If no one knows that..well now u do..I think it would still be around and a very coveted bike to own.

@TheRazePlayz

There's an entire class for racing 650cc twins so its not as stupid as you're making out, v twins have been raced for years and while they arent used in wsbk etc they have their advantages, but go on and tell everyone why they're terrible and how Fischer, Ducati and anyone else is wrong for racing a V twin.

the 150 looks and sounds like a fun little bike...small and torque ee . lol my first bike was a 1988 ysr 50! i could do "brake stands" using my heels to lift the rear axel.top speedo speed was 100k, my best was 90km downhill with tailwind!the bike is stock and still managed to get a speeding ticket!

Or...how about comparing it to a guy who did this BEFORE Fischer...Erik Buell...Who built far better bikes than both the ones you talked about, with better components. The Buell Firebolt XB12r had everything you talked about only more...along with dual ceramic front disc brakes, nearly 100 HP, and they were great price...and then the 1125r came out, which COMPETED easily with the Japanese bikes. Sadly, too many fanboys who have never ridden a bike, think they need 1000cc inline 4 cylinder bikes, and who just want to copy what their douchebag friend bought, caused Buell to go bankrupt as well and cease production.

Hey HeroRR! My friend here in Australia is considering buying a bike for the first time in his life, however he's been convinced to buy a no brand one online just because it's cheap and powerful. Could you do a video entailing the ways and the extent to which a no-brand or low quality brand bikes are inferior to mainstream (yamaha, honda, ktm etc.) bikes? Thanks heaps and great video!

I'd buy one just for the rare factor. Can't believe how nice it looks. Seat looks weird but I can get past that. I do hope they can bounce back with something 1,000cc or bigger but won't hold my breath. Good luck to them all👍

Looks really good in black. In the orange color, the lines look too sharp, but they look about right when done in a darker color. I love the look of it's instrument cluster. It had the right mix of digital and analog looks, and the fact that it had a fuel gauge is a bonus that I will sing psalms of praise for. It is a shame that they never did get the liter class bikes built, or the injected bikes... or that 1500... [drooling intensifies]
