As a former member of the Corps of Drums from 1961 to1973 I am so impressed with the musicianship and professionalism of todays Royal Marines Band Service. Having taken part in the 1964 Tercentenary on Horse Guards Parade in the Massed Bands of HM Royal Marines I am proud to have served in the finest Military Band ..... David Hadfield
I just love this; I will listen to instrumental music over lyrical songs. When I was little, I would listen to music and put routines together as if I was a figure skater and yeeeessssss as a little girl in the early 80s in the middle of the summer I would don on my skates and skate on my wood floor. I knew I was doing a no-no but at least I didn't toe pick the floor. Oh to be young and having to sand the floor by hand to learn a lesson was worth it.
Yes, awaiting the concert. I actually joined Royal Marines Band and 50 years ago this year, and went on to have whole career in music right up to today . I am now the music teacher in an international school in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman having played and taught percussion and keyboards around the world.
I never knew that it was possible for the Military to produce such a high quality of sound, this was unbelievable, powerful and at times deeply moving. Thank you for sharing this on RU-vid!!!!!💥💯👌👌👌👌
Fantastic! As the former Drummajor Drums and Fifes Royal Netherlands Marine Corps (2004-2007) I am stunned by this fantastic production of the Royal Marines Band Service! The music, the performances of the musicians and especially the Corp of Drums, the beautiful images, the 40th remembrance of The Falklands 1982-2022. Goosebumps... I salute you, Per Mare Per Terram & Qua Patet Orbis.
What A FANTASTIC CONCERT, VERY WELL PUT TOGETHER, HER MAGESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH OF ENGLAND MUST BE VERY PROUD OF CITIZENS , MAGNIFICENT TODAY I FEEL PROUD OF MY BRITISH EXPERIENCE BOTH BITTER AND SWEET , LONG LIVE THE QUEEN.
Superb there is no other place in the world that can present the excellent standard artistry precision etc in music that England does. THANK YOU FOR A LOVELY EVENING.
I was at the concert it was truly amazing brought tears a few times throughout the evening. All the armed service are hero’s but the Royal Marines are elite beyond. Respect all that serve and keep us safe.
Went to this concert .... so amazing .. so fantastic... so emotional... went with my son who wants to be a Royal Marine ,,, inspirational event .. will live long in the memory . My son got his programme signed by Katie Derham on the train home ..
My wife and I attended this concert. The musicianship of these Royal Marine Musicians was fantastic. I am ex Royal Navy and must be honest that whilst serving I never appreciated how brilliant the Band of the Royal Marines were. What can I say .....bring it on Royal. We'll be back!
After 9/11, the band played the US national anthem and it certainly gave me the chills watching it on TV, during my nation’s darkest days and I got those same chills when they just played the Ukrainian national anthem during their darkest times. Such a touching moment. This band is incredible. God bless you Britain and you Ukraine.❤️🤍💙🇬🇧🇺🇦💙💛 love from 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
Did you know that Her Late Majesty EIIR ordered the Coldstream Guards to play our Star Spangled Banner at the changing of the guard at Buckingham and Windsor the day after 9/11. She also held a memorial service in St Paul's Cathedral in London for the victims of 9/11. UK citizens were in both of the towers... RIP Your Majesty
I've just finished watching it. I was left speechless! One of the best shows I've seen in my life, and I'm 66! I was quite emotional in several passages. Well done. BRAVO !
Well done . Excellent . Great musical entertainment by HM Band of The Royal Marines . Nice laser beams display . Film documentaries , speeches and explanations . And great piece of tribute to the Falkland Island's on their 40th Anniversary of the liberation of the British Island's . Generally amazingly beautifully all very well composed ! ( HM Royal Marines Historical Links With Gibraltar Since 1704 ) With Best Wishes , British Gibraltar 🇬🇧
Fifty years ago I did the first MFOM at Alberts hall whilst in the corps of drums.Who would have thought that a lad from Wolverhampton(Mighty Wolves😇)would grace that stage in the finest, bar none, military band in the world.I would be the first to say"it was better in my day)but the bar has been put so high.Keep climbing Ladies and gentleman.Alan Piner and I could join up again(just willing to play seconds) ps just heard that the Corps of Drums do a turn on the Royal Windsor Horse Show with Top Secret Drum Corps. pps Would your Majesty grant that YOUR,YOUR,humble RM Corps of Drums may not where white gloves anymore and the Top Secret Drum Corps do. Pete Law x Bugler
I remember, circa late 1980s to early 1990s, hanging out for hours on end at Oxford Books in Atlanta, Georgia USA. Someone I would often run across there was a fine fellow of some repute, and part time resident of Atlanta at the time, Sir Elton John. I found him to be a treasure trove of knowledge about literature and history, and I thoroughly enjoyed his company. We never talked about his music or anyone else's for that matter, even though I was thoroughly a fan of his, and I owned a copy of every album he had recorded up until that time. I am a great admirer of The Bands of HM Royal Marines and Sir Elton John and this You Tube video was indeed very, very special to me. It literally brought tears to my eyes.
Absolutely brilliant concert !!! Thank you for your support of Ukraine !!!💙💛Sincerely Chief of the National University of Taras Shevchenko Military Band major Yurii Kopach! Slava Ukraini !!!✊
I have just finished watching this great performance in Port Vincent, South Australia post perfomance. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Congratulations to all performers.
Amazing concert… again… I hope one day I will be there. But untill that time, i’m very thankfull for the streaming on RU-vid. Real nice video-production. It will have been a big difference from last year when there was no audience. very nice to see how this was 1 big party again!
Brilliant, ab-so-lute-ly brilliant. It brought tears to my eyes. 55 years ago I was taught to play a cornet by RM instructors, and I'm still proudly playing in Melbourne, Australia.
England, a magnificent people and a magnificent Kingdom. I'm Canadian and two generations of my family have fought for her and I would do the same without hesitation.
I have enjoyed the festival great 👍 👌 vocalists grounding your instruments and using your voices, solo instrumentalists marvelous Watching from Kenya 🇰🇪
As a bugler who played kit, having just watched"I Feel Pretty"its nice to hear a great arrangement, and playing, after listening to Buddy Rich and his band playing the arrangement for the last 50 yrs+.Very nice indeed. Pete Law as below😇🥁
This was absolutely amazing. Probably the best one yet. Just loved hearing Sam Mcindoe singing again, she has an amazing voice, her singing Brother Beyond even bought a tear to my eye, just such an emotional song. As always the best Band in the World.
There’s not a living band apart from maybe the Guards that can touch the Royal Marines, and certainly not their drummers. Before people jump down my throat, this comment is made in recognition of the quality of some of the other military bands. This just serves to emphasize that the RMs are operating at a completely different level!!
Amazing again! Professional throughout, from the everyone on the band to audio/video production. During the outstanding performance of Brothers in Arms, can't stop thinking about Ukraine and the fear soldiers on both sides must be facing in the trenches and fights every day of this terrible war in Europe. Sam McIndoe singing and expression makes my eyes full of tears of emotion, once again.
You just plalin done it yet again! So proud of you all, I'll be waiting again.,next year! My Musical night of the year! Believe me your Concert will be watched many times between now and then! All I can say, for now is Thank You, Thank You all Brilliant!
WOW! AWESOME! Best concert I've been to! TKU from an American! I am truly amazed. My uncle was in the US North Carolina National Guard Band, so I can look back on his service here with even more pride. What an inspiration you ALL are!
Who started cutting onions @1:35:40? That MK Masterpiece was played as they carried my friend Chris Dunsmore's flag-draped coffin into church after he was K.I.A. in Iraq. Rest Easy, Brothers
GOD BLESS YOU ALL for your respect ✊ to The Ukraine 🇺🇦 people fromSherbrooke✝️ 🇲🇶 Quebec Canada 🇨🇦 LeF Twins 👯♀️ Irish ☘️ Desc G B Band and 🥁 Drums Bravos Ee love ❤️ you and God Bless You . Thanks 😊 RU-vid for this great Show in my living room May 30ft🎶
Great performances all round - amazing top class musicians and vocalists- but to hear my wee angel Sam McIndoe and her Buddy Hannah Smither sing again just made my night complete and - happy nights with Sarah Paxton on piano-at least the military do Uk proud even if our politicians fail us.
Cracking concert shipmates. As a former member of the RMBS (1979-2004) it's great to see the standard being improved upon time-after-time. Keep up the great work.
A great festival, I keep viewing - especially Brothers in Arms, such a significant piece played so sympathetically on guitar by Andy and sung with great emotion by Samantha (watch her eyes).
Another thing which is cool with these military orchestra and many other for that matter is that they play a variety of genres...marches/classic/rock/pop,soundtracks and others...like the title says: Something for everyone
