I just bought the regular X for the sale price. I’m completely happy with it! I have an external ssd drive so I have plenty of storage. I also prefer the color of the original X, I don’t like the retro color scheme. It’s dope Akai loaded the special edition with all the expansions and instruments and whatever, but I don’t need all that.

this is the best unboxing. I been holding out on the MPC X for an upgraded version. I got a live II which is fine, I love it, but it's uncomfortable to use, my neck is practically broken. that adjustable screen is gonna shine. As long as I can still start projects on my live II and finish them on the X, I'm a happy customer.

Great video Bolo I think akai is going on the right direction with releasing special edition MPCs that they already have. What I really need for them to focus on is improving their software I hate that it does crash a lot. With that being said now what is native instrumentals gonna do when it comes to releasing new products? They need to make another machine+ in order to compete in the market to make sales as well.

Good review. But whats amazing to me is when I see videos of the alchemist and araab muzik still using the mpc 2500 and still putting out bangers. At the end of the day I only care on how it sounds out those studio monitors not what machine was used. It’s always the man behind the machine not the other way around but great review already got mines and will be checking it out once I get the time

The MPC x Dr looks nice for sure. I love my version 1 MPC x. I would argue with anyone that the x does not have a high quality sound output out of the box. For 2GB more Ram and no upgrade to the converters, I don’t think that the $1000 extra cost is justifiable to help Akai celebrate a 35th birthday. Akai I’m still using a DPS24 and the converters in it smoke the Akai MPC x . You guys are at the cutting edge of sonic technology. I rather be sold higher quality innards if I’m going to shell out a whole $1000. That’s a bit steep for some nostalgia and a navy ship colored paint job😂😂

I gotta disagree… the original X’s were going for $2200 without the extra stuff. You get more ram and all the sounds and effects. You end up saving a few bucks in the process considering all what you get. Hell, some of the older MPC’s cost more than this used. 🤣

I think I’d like to know what internal components they are using like the mother board etc, does the MPC X SE have 7 year old components in it the same as the MPC X? Seems like a great way for Akai to get rid of there old stock by putting a bit of RAM and Storage with a new colour and palming it off as a new special edition. A lot of money for not a lot extra. Especially if you have an X and the plug-in suite.

Wish I was a mpc guy. Maybe in the future I’ll grab one. I had a maschine mk3 and loved it but it didn’t fit my workflow. If they ever came out with one dedicated to FL Studio I’ll def grab one but for now the Akai fire is cool.
