Yeah, full time employment is 40 hours a week minimum. And most companies expect 8 - 12 hours of overtime a week. And most games production companies expect 60-80 hour work weeks at times. So to hear someone crying over 45 hours a week is the most millennial thing I've ever heard

Jimmy fixed the eyes of people who weren't legitimately blind, but their corneas were clouded or what have you. Actual blindness in the sense of complete loss of vision at this point has no definitive cure.

That part of the curing of blindness is actually true. From what I gathered, he simply just paid for laser eye surgery for some patients who needed it.

It was more than five hours of overtime. Me telling him I would only work 45 hours a week was what I was willing to do for him after working countless hours every week. It’s like I said, I worked far into the night every night for almost two years at MrBeast. When he called to scream his head off at me about that video, that’s when I decided I had had enough of it

I might agree with Jimmy not having a good approach , but to be honest it doesn't matter who you work for, the only time these 40 hour a week rules apply are if you're a contractor. In a W2 position you have no expectation to only work 40 hours a week. Also jobs in at will states can let you go for any reason. I was let go with 2.5% equity in a Google partner worth 10b and lost $250,000,000 overnight without any rhyme or reason. It's a right to work state. I have zero recourse and if I did, their much bigger company would troll me with legal documents until me and anyone helping me is bled dry. This is how business works in America. I'm not praising it but I'm saying this isn't Jimmy specific or even rare. All of these issues are prevalent in corporate America, and I assume most of y'all are not deep enough in it to feel it yet. Yes, MrBeast could have handled many situations better. He is a human and his company is built of humans. Some exemplary and some problematic. Have I made a video about my situation which is literally more money than the ENTIRE valuation of MrBeast? Answer: No - because shit happens and when you really explore the law and businesses - there is no recourse Whether it is for goodwill or not, Jimmy reaching out and compensating employees when he is not obligated to after watching these videos shows he would go farther than - for example - my last employer who I can objectively prove fucked me out of $250M when I built their core product from the ground up and ran guantlets for them on 80-100 hour workweeks. I even read and hired a good lawyer to read my paperwork when I on boarded. The truth is you can only protect yourself so much as an employee in the US. It's a good thing for when we are successful and it's a bad thing when we're broke. Companies will always do whatever protects themselves or their finances amongst executives and upper management. Companies will never protect you with HR. Companies do not view you as family, as much as they say they do, and if they did, that would be an issue. This whole ordeal is SO overblown. It's because the vast majority of the public opinion being formed on it is by 2000s young adults who are novices in and don't understand the job market.
