The Mummy Returns (2001) First Time Watching: Movie Reaction 

I really get a feeling of joy seeing how much they like the character of Ardeth. Seeing them salute after he did gave me a warm feeling. I remember seeing their happy reaction when he was revealed to have survived in The Mummy after they believed he sacrificed himself. 😊 Ardeth is a great character and Oded Fehr is a very charming man, perfect for portraying him. ❤

I had the honor of seeing Brendan Fraser and Oded Fehr at Emerald City Comic Con in 2021. Fraser she he still wants to make a 4th movie, but only if Rachel Weisz and Michelle Yeoh come back.

As crappy as the CGI on The Scorpion King was, I love the fight between Rick and Imhotep, as well as the one between Evy and Ankhsunamun. I also really felt bad for Imhotep when Ankhsunamun ditched him inside that pyramid...as least she met her karma by falling into that pit of scorpions. Autism fueled observation/side note: That snake that Evelyn kicked towards Rick is actually a milksnake. You can tell by the band pattern (red, black, yellow). If the band sequence was red, yellow, black, they'd have something to worry about, because that's the band pattern of the venomous coral snake. Also, real scarabs were actually just dung beetles, who actually lay their eggs in balls of giraffe, elephant and rhinoceros dung. Two bonus fact/opinion tracks: I think Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would be impressed with Evy because of that sai twirl. When Jonathan says "Hang on, Rick!!", My first response every time is "I don't think he was planning to let go"

26:48 I like watching the gag reel for this movie. When Evey falls off the dirigible and Rick catches her, the first take of the shot didn't go so well. Brendan missed grabbing her, and she fell onto the safety mats below; Brendan just looked at the camera and waved awkwardly.

As a kid I liked this Mummy more than the first one, but both are still pretty fun. They should check out some more action franchises like Mission Impossible!

If you didn't notice when Evelyn fell off the boat , that's what happened to her in the past life as well. Nefertiri inadvertently leaned too far over the edge of the balcony and fell to her death. Despite having perished, Nefertiri's soul was cast adrift into the currents of time to be reborn once fate deemed the time right to revenge herself upon Anck-Su-Namun. This is why Evelyn is a reincarnation.

Anubis was not dark but neutral as the Shepard of the dead for final judgment. A more fitting god would be Set.

I couldn't believe that Alex kid... he got offered a Harry Potter role and turned it down for this. He apparently is a mummy fan and loved the franchise.

Make them watch : -The Ten Commandments (1965) -Seven Samurai -Disney 2D animated cartoons starting from Snow White. -The Dictator. -Spirited Away. -Shaolin Soccer. -Parasite. -Citizen Kane.

Apart from the terrible CGI of Scorpion King Rock, it's a great film. I really enjoy the first 2 films. The 3rd is ok.

Ha funny hearing them say he looks like a cartoon when The Rock comes out, I always thought it was one of the worst cgi jobs done in movies for it's time.
