As a child my dad was a manager at ATV studios in Elstree, so I got to see the Muppet show several times being filmed. I also got to go round the backrooms and workshop and even had a photo taken with Kermit there. It was a magical moment!
Watched Sesame Street growing up and then The Muppet Show. Brought back so many happy memories. Jim Hensen and creative crew so amazingly talented and creative. They created so many wonderful characters. Thank you, Jordan for doing this video. Can’t wait for the next video from there. Used to go to Atlanta on a regular basis but haven’t been in a long time. Stay safe. God bless you
Jordan, I can’t begin to express how much I loved this. It is seriously like seeing old friends. Kermit brought tears to my eyes. Wow! Thank you for showing everything so clearly and not rushing. What an amazing exhibit! Such talented people. Thank you for sharing this with us.
What a great vlog Jordan. Can't even begin to tell you how many enjoyable hours I spent watching with my son and grand babies when they were all younger. Thanks for sharing this bit of timeless history with us.
I was in Atlanta about 2 years ago and had the opportunity to visit the center for puppetry arts. Touring this museum brought back so many childhood memories. I got so excited when I got to get an up close look at all my favorite characters from the muppets, sesame street and fragil rock.
Loved this! I remember when Jim Henson died. Apple was doing their “Think Different “ campaign and there was a huge billboard downtown Los Angeles of Jim Henson with Kermit. My ex used to enjoy the show Farscape, that used Henson company puppets. I remember Waylon Flowers on Solid Gold when I was a kid
This was so cool Jordan... a chance to see old friends again! I knew Don Sahlin before the Muppets. He worked with a wizard of puppetry in Los Angeles, Bob Baker. When I was in high school, the local recreation department sponsored a puppetry class for teens, taught by Bob and his partner Alton Wood. Don often visited the class and assisted. The class put on shows around Southern California, as the Lincoln Park Puppeteers. I was a member of the Puppeteers of America for a few years too and also met Jim Henson in NYC, when I visited Don there, a few years before Sesame Street began on TV. The people I met and those experiences were an important part of growing up for me. Thanks for a great vlog!
Jordan thank you so much for doing this vlog. I cannot express enough how happy this made me. The trip back in time brought out the child in me. You are a sweetheart
Just loved loved loved this vlog. I'm 65 so really lived with these characters ! How clever was Jim Henson ! As were the other creators. Thanks Jordan !
Hi Jordan, nice that we got to see Jim's office. It's great to be able to see the actual size of these puppets. Love that photo of the production day where they are huddled together for the four shot with the puppets. How lovely seeing 'Kermit' welcoming you to the exhibition. You made me laugh singing 'Fraggle Rock', I could just imagine you dancing there ha, ha. Great vlog Jordan.
Even though I was a teenager when Sesame Street started in '69, I would still watch it for the comedy of Ernie & Bert and Kermit. Same reason I was still watching kids shows like PeeWee's Playhouse in the 80's 😄 Nice tour of the place Jordan 👍
I too still watch Sesame Street no matter how old I get. It's my main Henon show that I'll still catch. Even tho the show has changed SOOOO MUCH since I watched it growing up but I still get a kick out of it.
THIS VLOG WAS SO AWESOME, I LOVE EVERYTHING TO DO WITH JIM HANSON , IT WAS SO COOL TO SEE ALL THESE DIFFERENT PUPPETS FROM THE PAST AND SERING THEM ON TV AND MOVIES , THIS WAS SO GREAT , MY FAVORITE IS KERMIT , AND THE DOG FROM FRAGGLE ROCK, THK YOU JORDEN , THIS WAS WONDERFUL
Love this! When you said famous Peachtree St. I immediately thought which one lol? In ATL, I think there are more Peachtree Streets than any other. I think 71 of them? 🤪
Jordan you got me was in tears of happiness seeing all wonderful creations of Jim Henson thank you for wonderful memories can't wait too see other side of puppets
I REALLY enjoyed this vlog. Jordan!! I'm a great admirer of Jim Henson & the Muppets! And his genius & creativity lives on!! He brought so much joy to the world!! 😊
This was such a great video on the Muppets. How cool all the information you shared. To see how it all started. If is were not for people like Jim Henson and Walt Disney we would not have the things we have today. Our kids also watched Fraggle Rock, it was really cute.
That one brings out the child in all of us, the Braves now play in Cobb county, about 10 miles north of the old stadium. Thanks for that gem of a vlog!
I've seen this museum in other videos and it's staggering how many puppets from around the world they've got. I believe Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo from Mystery Science Theater are also there in the museum elsewhere.
Really enjoyable Jordon. It's incredible how labour intensive the design, putting together & performing the art of puppetering is. I certainly have a new appreciation with regard to the whole process & now when watching n the Muppets I will not just see it at face value. Thank you again Jordon.
Jordan, you're in my town! You could spend days in Atlanta doing videos. There is so much history here and so many famous musicians and movie artists live here. Please consider doing a video on the Fox Theater It is one of the few "jewel box" theaters left in the US. It has an amazing history and is absolutely beautiful. Thousands of artists - rock, jazz, country and classical - have played on its stage. They all want to play "The Fabulous Fox." Long ago there was a fire and they wanted to tear it down. Hundreds of artists donated their performance fees to help rebuild it. It is a GEM!
I loved Sesame Street when i was a kid. Kermit and Miss Piggy were my faves and also watched the Muppet Show. I had the Christmas album they did with John Denver lol really cool to see this vlog!
Boy, that brings back memories! I remember a audio book narrated by the late Carol Spinney: "Street Gang 50 years of Sesame Street". Good book! Hard to believe all of the classic puppeteers are gone except Frank Oz.
JUST AWESOME! You never realized all that went into creating them … they were part of my life for years … my kids loved them! Of Course … my youngest loved … BOB PARKER … TOO! 😂😂😂
Who as a parent wouldn't admit that they stopped what they were doing and watched Sesame street with their children? I know that I did! It was so amazing the way they made them look like they were real! Thanks Jordan, another great one!
HEY, JORDAN WHAT'S Up... Yeah I'll admit That I used to watch Sesame Street when I Was a kid long time ago 1967-74b but I still love all kinds of Jim Henson's creations and puppets and yes my favorite of all time sesame Street puppet was Oscar the grouch In his garbage can. Great job and Thanks For doing this one Beings back all kinds Of wonderful memories So please take care stay safe and see you on the next adventure
luv this tour Jim Henson muppets, favs The Muppet Show, grew up watching Sesame Street 1969 to 1977-78, seen just about every movie or special Jim Henson created
Never understood why Jim never had an honorary knighthood for his work on The Muppet Show, charity work and Dark Crystal, all made over here in the UK. Thanks Jordan 👍
When my daughters - now in their mid-30s - were 2 and 4, we made Bert and Ernie pumpkins for our front doorstep on Halloween. We stuck black hair on the Ernie pumpkin. 😄
I loved watching Sesame Street when I was little I watched it from 1986 to 1992. I think that was heathens 15 through 23 my favorite characters were always Burton Ernie why because I love their comedy gags , and how Eirne was always annoy Bert. They were always best friends even though, they didn't like the same things.
