@PBS the background music ruins this for people with hearing aids, my gf was born with only 30% of normal hearing and this would cause her literal pain to attempt to decipher, it’s garbage sounding to me and I have DT770s on right now. Pretty LAME for being “PBS” you folk should be EXAMPLES for the commercial producers.
Found this less than an hour after it was posted and watched it straight through immediately. An intriguing and calm journey through the wonders of our planet.
This feels like the old PBS, the time I feel in love with public television. It’s not the same now, the quality has fell, especially Masterpiece, but this is a truly an excellent piece.
I know this may be an unpopular opinion but, as much as I love Mr. Attenborough, it's so nice hearing new narrators with soothing voices. (alongside not playing ungodly tense music for mundane animal activities or making it seem like some animals are going to engage.) Thank you for posting this, and I'm so happy to find new documentaries.
I'm #7 to let y'all know that the background music is too loud and actually hurt my ears. I stopped watching at 2 minutes. Too overwhelming. And before y'all come at me to just have CC on and volume down or off... reading the captions is hard for me. I need to hear something to learn it.
Beautiful work, but the audio is pretty bad. Background music and soundtrack wipe out the clarity of the whispering narrative. The combination of unclear voice anunciation and the loud music sound is maddening.
@@jamesasmith5194 The problem is the audio contains music at twice the volume of the narration (or thereabouts). Do you know a way to adjust ONLY the music or re-balance the audio?
they rely heavily on the earths magnetic field, which they can sense with metals / magnetic particles in their brains! similarly to how many birds and marine species, etc navigate while migrating. they learn the “feel” of the magnetic field at the beach they were born at while in the nest and memorize how it changes as they move away so they can retrace their swim. the earths magnetic field circles the planet in lines, so they can use the magnetic field as a sort of grid or like latitude and longitude. they also use other senses like smell (they can smell dirt in the water) to identify the exact beach. it’s wildly cool imo :-) sincerely, a nature nerd :-) 🐢💚
A beautiful and mesmerizing film. There is mystery everywhere on our lovely planet. Just step outside and find a place that isn't built over or paved and begin exploring.
Love these videos... the views are amazing... my only grip, at least on this one...could you please lower the sound of the music a bit in relation to the narrative?. I like the music but sometimes just drowns the voice of the guy narrating the events, which is a pity. Just my observation. Thanks
We still have so much to learn from the nature of the oceans. There is an emergency type need to protect them so that before we destroy anymore of the connected life that oceans represent we better understand our own and respectfully serve other life.
I thoroughly enjoyed this journey through the ocean and the narration was so beautifully done. Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience on RU-vid. Greetings from England.
Another irrefutable & indisputable transcendent doc. about aquatic creatures that may seem to go beyond the bounds of possibility that any others could arise again, surpassing in terms of the sublime & superlatives. These creatures entrance me & their simplistic existential presence on earth captures its unique magnificence & majesty that would know no bounds. But, if I were to complain, the volume of that background music appears to be a bit louder, distracting the narrator's voice, or am I an exceptional? Regardless, my heartfelt thanks!,,,,(08/10/24)
i really enjoy the vibe of this documentary (calm nice narration and music,) but i agree the soundmixing could be improved, the music is a little loud. thank you though, i’m happy we have quality full length documentaries for free :-) it’s so important for people to learn and care about nature and to have that knowledge be accessible to im excited to find PBS on youtube :-)
What an amazing documentary!! Every single information was mind-blowing! Also ended up crying for those poor turtles, They're sooo cute, they don't even get to see their mother and instantly face the most dangerous test of all time right after breathing oxygen!!! My poor babies 😭
34:00 Acoustic resonance/ acoustic levitation could've moved those pillars. Resonance chambers, resonance channels, and a lot of specific kinds of vibrational chanting.
Great documentary.. amazing choice of storylines (out of an ocean worth of subjects), great narration and breath taking images. Wish the natural sounds out of the captured scenes were given equal prominence as the narration instead of musical scoring.. focusing on the narration becomes hard with that blaring background music.
Who okayed the background music levels before this went in for final print? I can’t believe numerous people watched this and thought it was okay. Spoiled a beautiful documentary.
I’m 33 years old and I didn’t know until watching this documentary that white dolphins even existed. Our world holds so many beautiful mysteries I don’t think humanity will ever learn it all. It’s amazing
THIS WAS AN INCREDIBLE VIEWING‼️THANK YOU SO MUCH!!‼️PLACES I NEVER KNEW EXISTED!! Or CREATURES I NEVER KNEW EXISTED‼️AND PLACES I CERTAINLY WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO VENTURE‼️TO!! VERY GLAD IT IS FINALLY REALIZED BY THE 2 legged predator that SAVING IS BETTER THAN DESTROYING ‼️‼️👍❤️❤️❤️💜💜💜❤️
Perhaps the turtle graveyard represents a magnetic anomaly somehow, that fouls up their navigational sense---this could be tested (here comes my Nobel prize... :)
Like so many others here, the audio balance is way off, music is way too loud, I can hardly hear the narrator. They should fix the audio and reupload it, it's nigh unwatchable as is.
