I never knew about this beautiful temple. Its truly amazing.i hope that they never open the last door.maybe atleast one thing in this world can remain as it is .I feel it should remain closed for many reasons . Im not the smartest man in the world but the cobras or serpents on the door should be obvious to any simple person that it should remain closed. I would love to see this beautiful temple and all of India someday .thank you for the upload

Even it will not open with man power it requires particular frequency of mantra which is called garuda mantra in Hinduism, which only god Vishnu knew how to make it in same frequency.. Today this mantra is not in existence but only the name has given in Vedas and this temple has place in Vedas and Mahabharata as well

i agree. There is probably a hidden switch since there is no handle or lock shown, but it also be just as simple as pulling on the door, or something else. on my opinion, there is probably just more gold in there, or maybe manuscripts, or(even crazier), the "Ark of the Covenant". you wouldnt be able to tell since the temple is made of gold, and the Ark was overlaid in gold.

Tbh it's said that it can only be opened by a mystic chant called Garuda Mantra with correct pronunciation and pace ,one who tries to do it and fails in doing it in correct manner will DIE. The door isn’t opened, it is pulled out...an elephant was used, it’s tusks fit below the serpents mouths, it would pull it out and set it against the wall next to it, resulting in the scrapes seen on the wall next to the vault.

I live here. There's a believable explanation. The padhmanaswamy temple was owned by the King of Thiruvithamcode centuries ago. Every time the king or his Lords assigned to several parts of kerala, visits the temple they gift great things to the god, like gold, diamonds and several invaluable artifacts. Also the Portugese, Dutch, Arabic and Chinese traders who visited the king and the gifts they offered are also transferred to as offerings to the temple. Over centuries this tradition continued and they had to like build miles of underground chambers to keep the enormous treasures. It is so large that, its probably the greatest treasure in the world ever found. There's a situation here right now, that the devaswoms (bodies that control hindu temples) don't want the government to access the treasure. The government wants to declare it as state treasure and count it as state's wealth. This is leading to serious conflicts between the temple bodies and the authority. Therefore many stories are madeup. *sorry for my bad english*

Hearing what my friends say about the Indian government, I doubt that money will be nearly as useful as it value. Good luck accounting for that level of gold and treasure. Not entirely accurate, the British used the concept of divide and conquer in the Indian subcontinent to make their way into the India and subsequently take over it. There was already animosity and distrust *before* the British came, they just used it for their own gains. But no doubt the British didn't exactly make things better.

It's probably something which holds great spiritual or religious significance. It is a temple after all... Gold is just material wealth, what would truly be guarded by the temple would probably be thought to be something that would effect mankind on a fundamental level. It very well could be something perceived as dangerous as well. It is a temple to Vishnu who is seen as a protector from catastrophe, So maybe the whole purpose of the temple is to keep whatever is in there locked away.
