Check out “God in Ancient China” by Dr. C K Thong, and also another sermon with the same name by Pastor Kong Hee. Before the advent of Buddhism to China from India, for the first half of 5000 years of Chinese history, the Chinese worshiped the same God as the one recorded in the Bible.

Sinologists and theologians who are well versed in Sinology and Christian theology like Matteo Ricci, Dr. Thomas Leung, Dr. C K Thong, pastor Yuan Zhiming who wrote “Lao Tzu and the Bible”, agree that the ancient Chinese founders and sages like the Yellow Emperor, Confucius and Lao Tzu, worshiped Shang Di, called Tian in the Zhou Dynasty, and Dao (the Way, or the Word Logos) by Confucius and Lao Tzu. I am Chinese American and I too can affirm after listening to these sermons by these scholars that my ancient Chinese ancestors were indeed God-fearing people.

I am Chinese American, and I am fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin and can read simplified and traditional Chinese characters. Watch those lectures first and then you can tell me that the God of ancient Chinese isn’t the same God as the one in the Bible.

Why this hostility toward modern archaeology? Ancient civilizations may turn out to be far more sophisticated than previously thought, but when they're compared to modern civilizations, there's no competition as to which are more advanced: we are. This isn't hubris speaking - this is fact. And let's be clear - the kind of technology and fine craftsmanship that would have been accessible to royalty and the upper-class would hardly have been accessible to the common peasant.

If this was originally a Chinese documentary, wouldn't the lady be speaking Chinese the whole time instead of English? I think this was always an English doc.

@@Zackaria_sMax the original was made years ago by a Chinese company and did not offer English subtitles.

@@janetrapoza3877 but the lady can speak Chinese, if it was for a Chinese audience why was she speaking English the whole time? And were there Chinese subtitles for her English in the orginal? If so that's super impressive because they would have went to go find the original unedited masters for this, just so they wouldn't have to cover the Chinese subs. Or dubbed maybe?

@@Zackaria_sMax No....The original documentary was entirely in Chinese and filmed many years ago... I believe it was the Chinese government who sponsored it .

I do believe anything on u tube should be given the option of English translation. I find the Chinese gov. Is very much aware and so are Chinese videographers who make money from their creations and would benefit from reworking Chinese videos into English.

@@CuongNguyen-zn6jy China actually influenced Vietnam and other East Asian countries. They first passed on their writing systems. The video talks about how the artifacts of the cooking are of the same Southern Chinese (Cantonese) making dim sum... which is not Vietnamese. The writing itself is in Chinese as well. Vietnam at that time did not have their own writing, Vietnam used the Chinese writing for hundreds of years before creating their own. Therfore it could not be Vietnamese at all. China at that time was mainly still up north as stated in the video and in history. Later on in time was when more moved south and eventually spread the writing and culture to others (including Vietnam).

@@CuongNguyen-zn6jy Did Vietnam exist more than 2,000 years ago? The founder of the Nanyue Kingdom, Zhao Tuo, was first of all a Han Chinese from the north. Zhao Tuo led 500,000 northern soldiers to Guangdong, China, and established the Nanyue Kingdom in Guangxi and northern Vietnam. There were only primitive tribes in these areas, and it was Han soldiers and craftsmen who built and made these things. If you can read the original books written by your ancestors in Chinese characters, you will understand your history, not the false "history" modified by the Vietnamese government. The Vietnamese are the descendants of the combination of Han soldiers and indigenous people in northern China. Don’t say it again China has invaded you for thousands of years, and you are the descendants of the invaders. I suggest you to read the original history books written by your ancestors in Chinese. Not the "history books" revised by your government today.

Ancient Vietnamese scholars always included Nan Yue (Nam Việt) as an official state of today Vietnam. Only since the Nguyen Dynasty the name was swapped to Yue Nan (Việt Nam) by request of Qing's dynasty. Although the ruler was Han-Chinese, the culture, technology and majority of the population was unarguably Yue.

The documentary explains jade suit has been also found in earlier periods in different regions of China. This one in particular wasnt granted by an emperor. It was made locally.

The suit discovered in the 70s belongs to a prince of the Han Dynasty (Prince Liu Che, I believe). Han Dynasty ruled what is northern China today.

So this Mausoleum is for the grandson of Zhao Tuo 趙佗, Zhao Mo 趙眜，who succeeded his grandfather as the second ruler of the Southern Yue or Nanyue Kingdom 南越國。. Nan 南 （Nam in Vietnamese) = southern; Yue 越 (Viet in Vietnamese) = south of Yangtze River. 廣州 Guangzhou, my birth place, was the capital of this Nanyue Kingdom.
