I could see the yonhet selling legendary variants of guns that you can later get from weapon droppers thru a menu afterwards in halo infinite campaign. Give us more open world, make some shopkeepers or even factions of them, such as a few camps of jackal traders who perhaps also give quests, which can definitely be done. Also, if arbiter were to join the fight again we could get playable eilites... And if we had a friendly set of brutes they could be playable as well. Basically bring back the partner function but make it so you choose who you bring, and then if you don't player two is whoever they pick, or if partner is there you can each have one and have an elite partner ai, brute, or Spartan. Let us unlock these partners with things that we do. Basically just give us a deploy screen before mission start, and let us access it from the garage or something
I believe the slugmen are actually the sub species of lekgolo called Khantolekgolo. Both of their lore is based around lost records after the fall of high charity and I think it’d be cool if 343 intertwined both of them together lol
The one thing that really annoys me is; if that element harvested from the fragment of Installation-04 was so deadly to humans only...how did even a number of those present in Ground Zero survive? Locke himself was barely 10 feet away from it, yet he wasn't even affected as far as I remember. It's one of the many, many, MANY gripes I have with that movie. It had a lot of promise, but it slipped through so many cracks there was barely any surface.
If we're going back over lore, could you do a video covering the kilo 5 trilogy? I think it's one of the greatest stories in Halo and is super underappreciated.
@HiddenXperia I just finished re-reading the trilogy. So, it's hard for me to pick something specific. Some points might be Juul Umdama's story, Admiral Osmond's rise to power, and maybe the alternate viewpoints through which Dr. Halsey and the Spartan 2 program are seen (Osmond, Staffan Senske, etc. Vs Chief's viewpoint that we see in the games). Idk. Just some ideas. I think it's one of the Halo universe's greatest hidden gems.

I could definitely see a Covenant Master controlling a Sharquoi being a boss fight in a future game/dlc. A Covenant (rebranded) Banished Master challenges the Chief with the Sharquoi, after killing it you fight the Master. Then once you kill him it’s revealed that there was one or two more Sharquoi that are now out of control and you now have Banished Forces helping Chief and UNSC take them down. Only to immediately ho back to killing each other
That would be cool. Only difference I’d make with this is instead of banished working together with us, you’d hunt the remaining sharquoi and witnessing then mauling many banished troops. It would be almost like another boss fight except the sharquoi are fighting you and the banished, and the banished are fighting you and the sharquoi. A three way fight that makes the boss easier because more things are attacking it but also the setting is harder because you have more enemies after you too
9:16 Another theory as for reason for the Slugmen being chosen for artifact retrieval missions could be because they maybe have a trait similar to that of the Thanolekgolo from Halo Nightfall which can "sense technology", perhaps making them useful in navigating large Forerunner constructs and networks?

Didn't High Charity use specially trained singular Lekgolo to dig through the more ancient parts of High Charity? The Slugmen could be entire gesalts formed out of these worms as a sort of spec-ops crusader priests
It indeed would be neat to see many of these species in new or expanded games, animations, and novels. Both for gameplay combat and for the astropolitical lore.
Can you please do a deep dive into multiplayer armor and it’s canon lore; more particularly the more goofy looking armours. I like the slugmen the best for sure though.
I absolutely love the design for the alien trooper, it's elongated body and stance gives off a very 'alien' vibe which is fitting. It screams late 90's/2000's design to me 😁
A game where you play as a Covenant Master that is the lead of a group of Sharquoi and your sole purpose is to eradicate either humans and or heretics would be awesome. Bit different to just a run and shootem up but has the slight RTS feeling with it too controlling all the different Sharquoi and or the Lekgolo walker tanks.
Initially you were supposed to kill humans in Halo 2 as the arbiter but that didn't really jive well with the modern warfare of the time and people's sensibilities.
That sounds somewhat similar to the Overlord games, the ones where you play as a lich controlling undead to do combat while also in the fight themselves. At least, that's what i got from the few times I looked at the gameplay, without going into the actual story of the games themselves.

Loved this video! Never heard of the Dazreem! Love their shark/sanghelli vibe! I am a little surprised the ‘Breakers’ didn’t get a little mention here, unless they didn’t count. I can get why ya left em out tho given they are technically Banished. If im not wrong they were originally gonna replace the hunters in infinite.

I looked that up and found a video of a pair of strange reptilian creatures with two bony fins on their head fighting a spartan player. There was also a version that had armor, unlike the two that were naked. They seem to be either animalistic creatures, or based on their semi-humanoid form, some sort of primitive sapient.
I enjoyed the remake a lot! The Yonhet could really use a redesign, if the covenant can go from their 3, to their 4 designs, then back to their roots in Infinite, then we can get better looking Yonhet
Although Halo and Marathon were possibly designed to be set in the same Universe, this definitely isn’t the case anymore, both in Lore and Legal senses.
Really neat video. The Covenant fringe is a part of the lore that it's a shame we've never seen and rarely hear about. It'd be nice to be able to see more of the Covenant fringe, but I guess this video will suffice for the time being.
The only ones we know of are the lekgolo, but how many other alien species did the Covenant meet before or after who weren't a legitimate enough threat to pose a major obstacle who also destroyed Forerunner structures and were summarily exterminated?
that first creature, the banished arc in Halo is the best time to use them imo, you have probably the most intelligent and physically powerful brute ever leading an army that could beat the Covenant. if they controlled those creatures I feel they'd be a more intimidating army than they already are.
I know you’ve talked about Xytan ‘Jar Wattinree before but was hoping you’d go over the lore behind him and his rising popularity with the covenant and intention on creating his own sangheli lead covenant that got him exiled to being the fleet commander over the covenant fringes. I’m disappointed that him and his flagship were taken out in that nova bomb on that sangheli colony😢, would’ve loved to see him in a game with that massive size difference
If there's one thing I love about Halo's lore and world building, is all of the alien designs (except for one of course), especially with how they're not just 'humans with alien features' (except for one of course). The Alien Trooper at the end there is a perfect example of this, it's so strange that I actually recoiled from how it looked, but immediately got intrigued by its design and how it could use those weird sections of its body to perform very unique and potentially very combat effective tasks. I hope more of these alien races become properly canonised either in the games (preferably) or in other media, and that other sci-fi universes follow this trend of 'alien aliens' rather than 'human-like aliens'. Not to say that human-like aliens are bad, just look at Star Wars and Star Trek, but some more unique designs are always welcomed with open arms.
This really was one of the first times in history that we were able to experience aliens in media that weren't just people in costumes- at least for extend periods. CGI was still hella expensive, and non-human aliens were otherwise puppets, animations, or sprites in the case of previous games. Around the dawn of the 21st century was the first time millions of people could immerse themselves in the company of all these literally alien body plans moving around in real time. And Halo was one of the most nuanced and beautiful examples, that really gave you a chance to soak it all in.

We need to see Fringe species in a game, ASAP. The more alien races added to the Halo universe, the more I wish we could get a Mass Effect-esque game where we can freely visit locations around the galaxy. Imagine a place like Omega in Halo, (Venezia perhaps), where we can walk into a seedy bar or club and encounter various Halo species like Brute mercenaries or Jackal traders around the place. If they're going back to Halo: CE concept art and making unused aliens canon, then I think it would be neat to see some unused aliens from other canceled games made canon as well. The Sentients and Sigma from the canceled "Titan" game could be developed into something interesting.
The trooper with the gun coming out of its chest would be awesome if it could like skitter up walls and shoot at you like a horror movie monster with a glock. But also drop down and move around like a humanoid and use more traditional tactics, give them shields and it'd almost be like fighting eldritch abomination Spartans.
These are the kind of species i've always wanted to see after Halo 3, It's what the Banished should have been. With so many unknown area's in the Convent and beyond, there's bound to be other races that can be used to replace the baddies we've always been shooting at. We don't need Grunt, Jackles, Elites/Brute and Hunters specifically, just other aliens that take up those same roles. 343's over reliance on the just fighting the Covenant/Banished over and over is making the franchise stale. I'm going to say it. The Prometheans were a good direction as a replacement for the Flood, the issue was the way how they designed them. Knights teleporting, Watchers bringing them back to life, soldiers coming to late to the party (And TELEPORTING!!!!). They should return, but we need something this drastic for the Covenant role as well. Plus, can you imagine how sick it would be if we got to fight a new rising alien power, while teaming up the old badies? Ughh... please! Anyway, great Video! I've been a lurker on your channel for a few years now and always look forward to your Lore videos. Unless it UNSC, i tend to sleep on those. Also, if you ever get invited to visit 343, please twist their nips until we get to playable Brutes or Elites. I miss my Elite and his big kissable split jaw.
Honestly you could probably make an entire series of videos about all the Halo cut content that ended up getting canonized. Personally I’d love to see one about “ambient wildlife” like Thorn Beasts and Blind Wolves.
I dunno the Yonhet sound interesting to have in game especially in some plot where they're helping the Banished by either smuggling items to them or for them to help fund their pirate warband
The last Alien Trooper... the head bears a bit of resemblance to that Endless boss lady's head in Halo Infinite. Not the rest of the body, but the head does a bit. Maybe it could be re-canonized as part of that species, albeit with a redesign.
I would believe the tankbeast is likely a predecessor to the scarab. It could even be one of the first tank designs for the convenient, I could see them not wanting to muddy the water with too many lekgolo vehicles and scrapping it.
I would really love to see a remastered sharquoi. I would love for 343 to make some Halo DLC games that have all these lesser known species and the lesser known flood units!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Oosa was ever actually a part of the covenant. So if that's the case does that mean that the Covenant Masters armor style is an original Sangheli design? Would be pretty cool to see a video on something like that
You should do a therory of what happened to the UNSC Spirit of Fire and where they are as of 2560 during halo infinite, are they still on the ark? What happened to Dr. Ellen Anders? What the status of the Ark's flood infection if Atriox and the Banished are gone? Ive also been wanting to ask you, do you think the whole "atriox is dead" was ever something that was true, the banished have this newfound unity as a result of Eshuram seemingly lying to the Banished about Atriox's death and id love to hear your thoughts
@cosmictreason2242 Regardless it would still be fun to theorize about it. Just because 343i won't continue weaving the intricate threads of lore, doesn't mean we can't try it ourselves.. Personally I would love to see a video about it, even if it's merely conjecture, it's better than abandoning the story like 343i did.
6:30 I think that in perspective they were removed and rarely seem again because they are impractical, they may be tough but not invunerable to weponry and there are other units like the Hunters (Lekgolos) who already occupy the niche of "tough armed big guy" much more effectively from a "gameplay" and storical perspective.
After the Banished I want to see a Covenant Resurgence so badly. Imagine having the Prophets return (including Prelates as boss fights), Drones return, even have the Dazreme as the new "elites/brutes" of this new reformed Covenant, would love to see slugmen and sharquoi too
I hope we fight these in future halo games the slugmen serving as agile stealth units, having armor on their rear and giant shield like shoulder pads, being very fast but exposed, and can switch to being tankier but slow, kinda like flood ranged forms. Sharquoi as super melee tanks, much like flood juggernauts. And the Fish creatures serving as very athletic melee enemies that can hop around the battlefield, cling to walls like Drones, and upon entering water, can swim at extreme speeds, but they have low health and halo 3 brute power armor. And the Yonhet, having the same health and strength of marines, with covenant armor and new, original weapons, like a spike rifle, shooting small metal shards at the same speed of a brute spiker and ECT Just some ideas for possible enemy types in future halo games
It would cool if in the future they make in a game it turned out these races built a new covenant and went to war with the banished and humans then all 3 factions are at war with each other and each side has different weapons in the sandbox
I know you talked about doing lore videos from other universes and that Warhammer was a popular one, but watching your Marathon ones I think you could really give some justice to other old shooters, like Doom, Quake, Half Life, etc. But then again, I just like your lore videos a lot. And you know I love me some covenant fringe. 😂
Since you are doing remake videos, how about doing remakes on the "Halo Lore before the Games" videos? Also updating the biographies of the Arbiter, Locke, Buck, the Didact, Rtas Vadum, 343 Guilty Spark, the Warden Eternal (lol😂), Lasky, etc. would be nice. Also, I'd be so down to seeing more Marathon videos, and maybe even some Call of Duty Zombies lore remake videos (since I know you used to do those too back then).
I think Halo should introduce new contemporary species and maybe even more alien alliances/empires that have nothing to do with the Covenant and the Banished, some of these unused creatures feel very consistent aesthetically yet not similar to the Halo aliens we've seen thus far
It would be awesome if you did a is the gravemind still alive video! Like i cant be the only person that thought the gravemind HAD to infect other worlds along the way with ships, something. Maybe he was so worried about the Ark that it didnt matter.
