showeeeeeeeeee... What a discussion! I thought about my 3yr old daughter watching us resuscitate her brother from drowning. She developed acid reflux shortly after. She will be 7 in a few weeks time and the other day she said when she swims she thinks of her brother and tells God 'if it's my time to go,it's my time' I was shocked by this. I pray for an answer to heal completely. We're on our way! Thank you !

I'm glad Dr. Caroline Leaf interviewed Dr. Gabor Maté. He appeared in many podcasts, but not every interviewer is a good one. She digged deep into him. As far as I watched, this is one of the best interviews.

Thank you so much for sharing this wisdom. I think there is a risk of misunderstanding in terms of controlling emotions. Emotions should not be controlled but allowed instead.

Thank you for saying that there is more than one way to hurt a child, overturning abuse is not the only way. Withholding love and affection can be as (if not more) damaging to the psyche than hitting someone. The internalization of “if my _____ doesn’t love me I must be worthless and ultimately unlovable” is insidious, persistent and crushing to little minds who grow into adulthood with these beliefs.

Thank you both for the guidance! I have a very sensitive and very empathetic young child who is also hyperlexic. Dr Mate’s Scattered Minds offered a lot of insight into traits and behaviors that I recognize in my son. I was able to understand more and adjust my reactions so my son doesn’t feel overwhelmed, I am grateful for the guidance! I’m having trouble finding resources on hyperlexia. I am from eastern Europe and therapy is not so up-to-date here. Would love to get some book titles from you.

How to deal with trauma and heal from trauma and how to recognise trauma. ? I'm waiting for the answers.

They did say how: to change how you think about what caused you the pain, to recognize your value, to look deeply into your pain and begin to understand what the true injury is. It’s a conscious choice to begin the healing process. I recommend listening to this interview a few times. I hope this helps. ❤

@@PJMcInerney I've listened to a number of his videos and he seems to be focused on trauma as the cause of all mental disorders. Yet a good diet can either protect from the effects of, or make you more vulnerable to, trauma. He's so influential that if he started discussing diet that could change so much for many people.

The Word of God says that “We love, because God first loved us.” What our parents give us, we give to our children. And the same has happened to their parents., and their parents, and their parents… what we receive, we pass on, good or bad.

Both experts here have their own methods they have created - Dr Caroline has a free neuro cycle app you can download with all sorts of amazing information & a free programme that detox’s the brain. Dr Gabor has his compassionate inquiry model - where your encouraged to do a self inquiry into your life/childhood but with a compassionate heart toward yourself rather than shame. In my view, the healing part is very much an individual choice of what works best for you from a range of all kinds of tools. It’s not so much to fix it, it’s more a case of the way we see ourselfs & keeping that nervous system at ease and to notice our triggers , why they are there & what needs healing ❤

I no longer believe in blaming parents, but it might be helpful if they could acknowledge the things that went wrong.. the things they did, instead of sweeping them under a rug or becoming defensive to where conversations that could otherwise aid in healing become impossible.

One thing i have found to be true, and that is that if one does not “control” themselves, even emotionally, someone else will, like a doctor with medication. I think recognizing the pain of others is fearful to the unattended “wounded child” within others, so THEY find ways to deny the pain. It’s imperative for those of us who understand this to listen and validate what has happened for others, so that they may live and hope again. I love your hearts, doctors.❤❤😊 Men, at this time in history, really need validation regarding their “physical desires” that express their manhood. They have been denied their true selves, for a very long time. In our American culture, denial of the expression of feelings is prevalent and i believe, causes the “backup” of stresses, causing inflammation, and then disease. Peace to you both, in Jesus’ Name. Self-differentiation has set me free, when i have walked through my own “pains” with my God by my side. God bless you, both. To know, and to be known…it is a place of safety and a place of possible and hopefully, acceptance.
@rochellecaffee1417
@rochellecaffee1417 Год назад
The “disease” you have is true sensitivity to life’s crisis’s, and that is “normal” but most people are afraid to see it again through someone else’s eyes. Pain is pain, and denial can often be a very protective and necessary measure. It’s God’s “escape route” until you are ready to try to understand it, if ever.
