A former member of 100T has accused the org of not paying them enough money to eat.
This was huge - and the controversy has only got bigger since Nadeshot, 100 Thieves’ CEO, responded to the accusation in detail. Let’s break this down.

This video also didn't cover that the mob trashed that house and a video crew from 100T had to clean the whole house when they went for a shoot because the mob just didn't clean anything which as adults with your own place is pretty embarrassing and shows a massive lack of work ethic

To be fair, based on what Pokimane has said on the Trashtaste podcast, it seems pretty normal for streamers to have a dirty house. Even talking about having fruitflys so bad they got a bug zapper. And that was her experience despite the house paying a maid to clean their house every 2 weeks. I’m sure they have a lack of work ethic, but I don’t think their cleaning habits have much to do with it.

So let me get this straight, these 4 kids decided to get a four bedroom house that cost their entire paycheck for all four of them on their own accord. When in reality they could have doubled up in bedrooms for a cheaper house. Got 15% (possibly 35%) in sponsorship money because of the Organization they joined (100T) but didnt do anything to get it themselves but thought they deserved more. Including an extra 2500 for content creation. Had high tier creators they could have asked for advice, help, or scheduling that only lived a few miles away. And on top of that Nadeshot, after being told not to sign them, stuck their neck out for them... And then this man-child has the audacity to say 60k a year wasn't enough for a base pay and he was mistreated after only streaming 40 hours a month while I work 40 hours in 3 days 😂 and he thinks he was done wrong? That's not really how it works in the US. You need to pay your employees directly, you can't have people supervise the "fainancial" side because you don't trust them. They're adults, they need to be able to make their own decisions. If you do hire them a financial advisor or someone to babysit their money, that's insulting to them. Additionally, this sets The Mob up for abuse, what if the advisor just keeps the money for themselves? What if he only gives them a dollar a day, or says "you have to go run naked outside for another $10."

Let’s do the math : 200K deal where they made 65% 2.5K per month for content creation. Let’s say the other two deals were 100K and nadeshot took 85% and 65% . 75K (.35 percent of 200K deal)+ 150K ( 2 other sponsorship deals) -180K (salary) - 30K ( content creation budget)= 15K net And the net doesn’t include all the salaries for staff that has to pay out to help them which would probably be an additional 20-60K based on often the staff had to help. Seems like they realized how junior the Mob was and was nervous on giving them a higher rev share.

I know pretty much everyone has weighed in on this drama but I think there was this one thing that Liz mention that I haven’t heard until this video. it clearly shows the immaturity that Froste handled the whole two years with, summarized in one point: the fact that he thought Nadeshot would send him home because he couldn’t afford his next meal, if he were to ask for help. I’ve been in a similar position before and quite frankly the distrust shows quite a low level of maturity because people like Nadeshot (who I’ve known since 2014 and I’ve seen, is very down to earth) wouldn’t do what he thought and he would instead help him.

4 young guys who were popular on twitter for tweeting funny shit got brought into an organization so they can translate their twitter success to Twitch/RU-vid success. They suddenly realized that it wasn’t so easy to create content (except Classy, he actually grinded) soo they just tried to rely on their salaries to survive in LA instead of earning their own money by producing content. They didn’t take advantage of the opportunity. A lot of creators wish they could have a secure salary while producing content and trying to grow. Most people have regular jobs and do content on their free time. 85% does not seem predatory to me in this instance. 100T make the deals and bring the sponsors to The Mob. All they gotta do is the sponsor integration (sponsored tweet, sponsored video segment, etc). If 100T don't take 85% of the deals, then how tf else are they gonna make money by signing The Mob? They are already investing enormous amounts of money in them. 60k salaries for each member, pay for production crews/equipment, pay for the people actually making the deals on behalf of The Mob, paying for stream/content related equipment, etc. Then at the end, 100T didn't even end up taking the 85% cut. The Mob took 65% for 2 of the 3 sponsor deals. This is more than generous if you ask me.

@@fenixmartin854 This depends entirely upon the value of the sponsorships. But for a group like The Mob, who most people didn't even know were signed to 100T, the sponsor deals are gonna be way less dollar value so 100T would have to take a larger split to make profit. Honestly siding with Nade on this one. Some people are failing to realize that the $60k a year each member earned wasn’t meant to be their main source of income. It was just to help pad their expensive of daily living. The bulk of their money was meant to be earned through their content creation. Which was what they were signed for in the first place, to be content creators for 100T. However, they just simply didn’t put in the work. At the end of the day this was supposed to be their full time job and if you breaker down each members’ hours. Classify was roughly putting only 20 hours a week into streaming. With the Froste steaming about 9-10 hours a week, Avalanche streaming 5 hours a week, and Mako streaming 4 hours. No one came even close to putting in enough hours to even be considered having a full time job. Classify barely putting in hours to be counted as a “part-time” job. The entire Mob crew just simply didn’t work enough despite being allotted so much resources. They have to take accountability and understand that what was being offered to them was more than enough to make a comfortable living in LA if they had just streamed full time like they should’ve. Secondly, 85% may seem like a lot and it is but at the end of the day it’s a business. 100T needs to see a positive return of investment and the only way to do that was being able to take UP TO 85% of sponsorship revenue if they were to enforce it, which they didn’t do every single time. 100T were investing at least $240k a year into the Mob and needed to make that money back (plus more) somehow since they weren’t taking revenue from streaming, YT, etc… Again, 85% is a lot don’t get me wrong but at the same time it seems very logical for that to have taken place to even gain something from investing $240k a year into a group of individuals who aren’t even that huge to begin with and are allowing to let them pocket all other forms of incomes aside from sponsorships.

What case? I'm sorry, I'm not going to have sympathy for someone who steered their very slow moving ship into a wall while seemingly doing nothing to prevent it. Least of which someone who has the luxury of playing games for a living. But maybe this is the reality check that someone like Froste needed. Nobody else in 100T is playing along, and in fact, they are saying the opposite. Bad idea Froste.

While your coverage is alright, it leaves some really important chunks out. A rep from the Fireball sponsorship backed Nadeshot's claims, Froste awkwardly admitting that Nadeshot's counter to the 85% claim was true with The Mob taking 120K from that Fireball sponsorship, Froste going on a real estate site to accidentally refute himself and show that they could have taken much more affordable housing, and throwing every excuse at the book to try and justify low streaming hours and content production. The Mob was around for two years. What benefit would 100T have by having them be broke and having poor access to resources and internet, at the cost of 120K in salaries per year? It just doesn't make any sense. If they were financially predatory, the method (and numbers) don't make sense as it seems 100T was maybe breaking even on the investment. The way I see it is simple: Nadeshot's response was made with confidence and conviction, while Froste was hesitant and backpedaled a lot.

I’m not disagreeing with u just clarifying something cuz social media is different from traditional media. Usually big orgs that pick up smaller creators keep in writing that they can take up to 85% from sponsors they bring in until the contract ends but usually they don’t take that much. If the creator gets a lot bigger when the contract ends they either leave the content org after getting the clout and sponsors or they try to get a better cut. The top creators (that are still in orgs) usually only get 15-20% taken from them instead of 85%

No one talking about how froste only streamed for 40 hours a month while under 100t employ. Not 40 hours every 2 weeks, A MONTH. The dude was lucky they didn’t find that out and just kicked his ass the curb

I feel like this video was way to short and as such painted a very narrow picture on the situation that doesn’t allow real insight into the situation. It saddens me to see a situation so rooted in esports be glossed over as ,”it’s overall a messy situation anyways to make esports teams.” Frosty could definitely have done more and he made some mistakes. Place accountability where it lies. Such a lack of information being given here other than,”this is what they said.”

People wish to get into streaming and making a living off of it. But they don't realize the amount of work you have to put into to make this a sustainable lifestyle. As big as 100T is, they're still struggling. Froste didn't put in the work that was needed from him.

"We don't really get to see the inside machinations of esports all too often" is just a crazy place for a supposedly journalistic organization to leave things. Are esports orgs fundamentally unsustainable? It sure looks that way from the outside but it's hard to tell. If only there was a website the purported to cover esports that could use a series of investigative techniques to better inform the public. Why are we leaving it to Ludwigs managers Twitter account to talk about this stuff (no shots, slime is based).

Isn't Froste the guy that got on 100Ts radar because of all his meme tweets? Kinda crazy this is how their relationship played out just feels like an entitled kid with a pretty good opportunity... I've seen gaming situations back in the days and they would have lawnchairs and futons with no money but making it work slowly grinding out their own brands until they were self sustainable while also having the orgs opportunities. Nadeshot, BigT, Scump are all prime examples of what sacrifices you can make to make this stuff work. Now that hes shown this side of himself he's done for.... a shame!

They get 2500 from the Org a month and sets them up with large sponsorships and they could take 85% of the money they made from that sponsor since they were providing everything for it and finding it for them they had their own money coming in from Streams like donations or subs or Content they created for RU-vid

Yes but it still a good deal and the reason is because first they basically got a free house which they chose to do they got 2500 a piece every month and that’s their rent Frost looked up houses and found cheaper ones to rent recently than the house back then which means they were probably cheaper back then too and after all of that he just didn’t work and the others were trying to cover for him so the ship started to sink
