Dr. Miguna and Dr. Otiende Amollo's arguments are too advanced and well reasoned to be understood by the other two discussants. Instead of facing Miguna's issues, they slide into myopic and shallow arguments which don't address the matter in question. The Jubilee squad cannot make independent argument, instead they hinge their comments on what the NASA team has said. This is the trouble with Kenyan leadership, and the cause of Kenya's failure to exploit its full potential as a progressive and just nation-state.

Sen. Kimani Wamatangi is an amazing person when it comes to not confronting the truth and facts, and also peddling cheap negative politics. First, he denies the obvious fact that there is exclusion in Kenya. Kenyans recently watched DP Ruto publicly telegraph exclusion in his speech when he called upon - for recognition - senior government officials who attended Bishop Korir’s funeral. Second, Wamatangi repeated reference to “Luo Nyanza” is a dog whistle meant to set the stage for tagging of Luos. For starters, “Luo Nyanza” phraseology was coined by former Provincial Commissioner John Kaguthi under the former President Moi to tag and politically isolate Luos from the other tribes (namely; Kisiis and Kurias) who live in the former Nyanza Province - which is dominantly Luos’ ancestral land. The Kaguthi strategy at the time was to tag Luos (i.e., give them a bad name) and use the bad name to “hang” them politically. Willful continuation of this “tag and hang” strategy as attempted here by Wamatangi, however surreptitiously, portends greater long-term harm to unity in Kenya than people realize. Let me illustrate, no one in Kenya has ever heard of “Kisii Nyanza” or “Kuria Nyanza” -in a manner similar to “Luo Nyanza.” Also, as much as there are Kikuyus and other tribes living in Rift Valley, Kenyans have never heard of the Kikuyus living there being tagged as “Kikuyu Rift Valley”, or “Kikuyu Coasterians” (for the former Coast Province), etc. It would be wrong and terrible to tag them that way. My point being: Wamatangi is very comfortable talking of “Luo-Nyanza” in perpetuation of the Kaguthi’s strategy, but would not dare talk about “Kikuyu-Rift Valley” because he knows fully well how politically explosive that would be. Last but not least, the United States of America has been in existence for over 200 years, but Americans still keep referring to their union as imperfect, but a working progress. They also refer to the union as a “project” - i.e., something they have to nurture or keep working on until perfection is achieved. So, when Raila refers to Kenya as a project, it is in the context of what has to be nurtured towards perfection. So, there is nothing negative when Raila refers to Kenya as a project. Mr. Wamatangi would rather we believe otherwise, which is not helpful.
