I come from Aberdeen,I spend the winter months of November through to March around Alicante,iI listen to the youth pipe bands some evenings with a glass of wine, and marvel at the sounds they produce.love it.
Greetings from a 1st generation Scot (both parents from Glasgow) in Summit, NJ...very impressive of young people doing good. Thanks for the video (I only just discovered it today...2021...Hopefully seeing 'The Pipes of Christmas' at my church tomorrow.....Keep up the god work!
it actually funny that i know and have had the honor of playing in the band with the composer And played with the band that has now made their mark with this tune
@TheWhindale Contact Alister McLaren (email amclaren@thepipingcentre.co.uk) who is the director of the NYPBoS. If you haven't already seen it, take a look at my videos of the band's latest concert (from April 2011) - NYPBoS's "Illumination" - THE CONCERT. I was lucky enough to be given permission to video from the balcony in the Old Fruit Market in Glasgow. Alister's a really nice guy - do try contacting him !
The music and playing was great. The video effects were absolutely awful and incredibly annoying. It looked like the creator took the original video and just added all the effects that he knew of, as quickly as possible. Should have played the original video without all the unnecessary cuts and other crap.
Give us a break this was done a very long time ago you've got to learn from trying stuff out. So a static camera from the back of the venue would have looked better?
