Every year, NBA fans anxiously await the draft lottery, hoping their favorite team will get a top pick and land a future superstar. But is the lottery really as important as it's made out to be?
In this video, we'll break down why the NBA draft lottery is actually less important than it might seem. For starters, the draft is just one way for teams to acquire talent. Free agency, trades, and player development also play a huge role in building successful teams.
Furthermore, the draft itself is a crapshoot. While having a high pick can certainly increase a team's chances of finding a star player, there are countless examples of top picks who never panned out and late picks who became superstars. The NBA is full of players who were overlooked or undervalued in the draft, but went on to have successful careers.
Additionally, the draft lottery is often subject to controversy and accusations of rigging. Even if a team does get a high pick, there's no guarantee that they'll make the right choice with their selection.
Overall, while the draft lottery can be exciting and provide some hope for struggling teams, it's far from a guaranteed path to success in the NBA. So next time you're watching the lottery, remember that there are many other factors that go into building a winning team.
Meet Victor Wembanyama, the 7'2" 17-year-old basketball prodigy who is taking the basketball world by storm. In this video, we'll dive deep into his story and explore why he's considered by many to be the future of basketball.
Victor Wembanyama was born in France to parents from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He started playing basketball at a young age and quickly began to dominate at every level. Standing at 7'2" with a 7'8" wingspan, he's a physical freak of nature with incredible athleticism, coordination, and shooting touch.
Despite his young age, Wembanyama has already made a name for himself on the international stage. He's played for France's U16, U18, and U19 teams, as well as for Nanterre 92 in France's top professional league. In 2021, he made his debut with the French senior national team.
In this video, we'll break down Wembanyama's game and see why he's generating so much buzz among basketball fans and analysts. We'll look at his skills on offense, including his shooting, ball-handling, and passing abilities, as well as his impressive defensive skills and shot-blocking prowess.
We'll also examine what sets Wembanyama apart from other players his size, including his agility, footwork, and ability to play both inside and outside. And we'll talk about his potential as a player and what his future might hold, including whether he could be the next dominant force in the NBA.
So if you're a basketball fan or just interested in seeing the rise of a future superstar, be sure to check out this video about Victor Wembanyama.
The NBA draft is full of promise and excitement, but not every player lives up to their potential. In this video, we'll take a look back at some of the biggest draft busts in NBA history and see where they are now.
We'll start with Kwame Brown, the first overall pick in the 2001 draft. Brown was hyped as a high school phenom, but he struggled to live up to expectations in the NBA. He played for several teams over his career, but he never reached the level of success that was expected of him.
Next, we'll look at Darko Milicic, the second overall pick in the 2003 draft. Milicic was drafted ahead of future superstars like Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh, but he never lived up to his potential. He bounced around the league for several years before ultimately retiring from basketball.
Another notable draft bust is Anthony Bennett, the first overall pick in the 2013 draft. Bennett was expected to be a star in the NBA, but he struggled with injuries and never found his footing. He played for several teams over his career and is currently playing overseas in Turkey.
We'll also take a look at players like Greg Oden, Hasheem Thabeet, and Adam Morrison, all of whom were highly-touted prospects but ultimately failed to live up to their potential in the NBA.
While it's easy to label these players as busts, it's important to remember that the NBA draft is a gamble and not every player can live up to the hype. However, many of these players have gone on to successful careers outside of basketball, and we'll explore what they're doing now.
So if you're interested in the NBA draft and the stories of players who didn't quite make it, be sure to check out this video about NBA draft busts and where they are now.

Victor Wembanyama is a generational talent. If a team has the #1 there’s no way they’d skip out him. Unless you get a RIDICULOUS trade. The potential is there, there’s hasn’t been a player like Wembanyama! He’s one of a kind, but his skinny frame and height is a concern. He needs time to fill out his frame, injures are my biggest concern.

I personally think the pistons should have gotten the number 1 pick this year they had the worst loosing streak in nba history with only 28 wins it’s a violation they didn’t get wembyama sure they have Cade Cunningham who has the potential to become a hall of famer but he needs help he can’t carry the team for ever and Cade and wembyama would be perfect the pick and roll game would be amazing with those two on the court

Some pretty good opining in this vid, and I lurves the "Chewer from Milwaukee" look (j/k), but I do have to help you with your Greg Oden/Durantula misstep. At the time--and yes I know you were still in diapers, but I was an adult during that draft season--the word on the street was that Oden was the big banger with a strong body, but Durant was skinny and would get all sorts of injured. Using hindsight, yes of course Durant was the best choice, as Oden got his wheels all banged up, out of the league in four years, only two of which were even minimally productive.

If you get the 1st pick you take it contexts my Hornets haven’t had the first pick since in 1991 that was over 30 years ago and interestingly enough the hornets have never one a playoff series since Larry and Mourning having a top pick is important to team building, yes players don’t workout all the time due to multiple factors sometimes players, teams or both parties faults. I mean the Portland comparison and the Zion comparison you also have to use context Zion and Oden we’re can’t miss prospects in another universe Oden is a all star- All NBA talented center who would have been a easy 20, 12 with 1-2 blocks type of center but like Brandon Roy injuries destroy careers and that’s no fault of Roy or Oden and Zion was can’t miss and when Zion plays he’s a 25, 10 and had his team 1st in the west and Ja isn’t any better considering the clear moral/character issues he has.

yeah, man I recorded the video pre jah shennanigans part 2. looks a little fishy now. I would rather have solid role players than potential franchising changing players that are prone to injury. @@whatslaps well bud in 2012 the Bobcats won 7 or 9 games in an entire season and got the 2nd pick missing out on Davis.. we ended up with a “role player” in Michael Kidd-Gilchrist his teammate years out of Kentucky, later it would bite us in the ass when MKG never was able to develop a jump shot although working with top shooting coaches in Charlotte, MKG was on his way to being at least a multiple time all defensive caliber player before knee injuries destroyed his career, we also missed on Cody Zeller in 2013 although I get ur prospective if my teams from 2015-2017 had let’s say Bradley Beal who was selected 3rd overall in the AD class or hell even AD maybe just maybe I could have experienced the best moment of my super fandom of the Charlotte Hornets witch would be winning ONE playoff series lol.

They should have all the guys who get invited to sit with their families on the main floor on draft night (aka, guys expected to go in the lottery) play one game beforehand The winners can choose to be free agents right away It won't ruin draft night. Actually since they're making it two days, day 1 could be these free agents announcing their teams And day2 is the draft Wait! No they should have the draft day1 and the free agents on day 2 Because I just thought how cool if Ausar and Amen were on different teams and one twin could choose to sign where the other twin is drafted

Theoretically the higher pick you have the more "choice" you get to have based on whichever guys are still available, and that combined with the idea that a team would have done their research as best as possible to know who would be best for them to pick. Of course everything is always 20/20 hindsight, but in the current moment, without being able to predict the future, you're going to want to be able to pick your guy of choice relative to everybody else, and wouldn't want to see them go to another team. Probably just saying some pretty obvious stuff here but I guess I'm just making the simple common sense argument for why it makes sense to want a higher choice pick. Development definitely goes into how everything will work out with any given player going to any given team. I agree with picking for best fit for team rather than best available (talent) player, chemistry is quite important for success. It is a shame when a highly regarded prospect with a lot of potential doesn't come to fruition for whatever reason but especially when a team does not know how to help them out for them to develop. Always cool to see guys over-perform their expectation and shine. Interested to hear how a rookie could have some/more say in what team they went to. Great video, interesting topic, love it as always, cut the A/C on.
@whatslaps
@whatslaps Год назад
Totally. The higher the pick the more flexibility you have. Your comment made me think of this though. What if the mock draft projections are just conjecture and the talent pool is significantly more even than we're imagining? What if a GM and scouts see something in a guy who projected at 14 but they have the 2nd pick? They could trade down in theory, but what if no one is making them a great offer? (these are rhetorical questions) So they end up picking a guy they didn't want just because they would have felt judgement from ownership and the media for reaching so far down. A/C is currently humming, can't hear a GD thing in this house.
@balance4141
