As someone who watched all their games I would also agree... Booker a close second but that a lot of that felt unsustainable because he was just making shots at such a high level. Ant was getting wherever he wanted
Just don't get me wrong (Edwards was lethal) There was few of similar antics this last while....like Ball (no dunk though) or Holmgren!... ... Man this 🏀 sport is getting more and more.... (finish my sentence)
@@Koronesuki1313that’s not true. People think of Ant offensively first then his on ball defensive ability. Nobody is doubting that. The effort comes and goes sometimes because these guys hafta channel their energy. Ant exerts so much offensively and a ton defensively when locked in.
Fox fell off but Hali is absolutely a better player than him, he's one of the most efficient players in the league and efficiency matters BY FAR more than anything else in basketball. Ant can't shoot for shit.
@@skoolynugenator1802 No they don't think of him offensively first. He's inefficient. Nobody thinks of inefficient people who can't shoot as offensive players first.
I've been a Timberwolves fan my whole life and I've watched every game since jimmy Butler was traded there and I'll say that it feels so good to see Edwards getting the love and respect he deserves. The way he plays the game or basketball is just different. You can put the best defender in the league on him and he'll still go get a bucket. Then if you need him to lock in on defense he'll lock your best player up. I never want to miss any Timberwolves game because you never know what he's going to do next. Bro is a star and he's ready for that leap to superstar.
Compare him to DWade or whoever else but he is not the same type of athlete as MJ. MJ used to get 3-4 times as many dunks per season in his prime and peak year 3.2 steals per game and 1.6blks Ant career high 1.6stl and .7blk. Im sorry but he’s not doing MJ stuff no one can
I’m a long time Kobe and Russ fan and now that Russ’s career is on the back end, I’ve been looking for a newer player to latch onto. And I can’t seem to keep my eyes off Edwards. He’s got that it factor. Great offense mixed with Aggressive defense and killer mentality. I want to see timberwolves vs OKC in the conference finals, that would be fire. 🔥
Getting to practice against Gobert every single day is going to do wonders for a developing player's confidence and creativity. While that trade is roundly mocked - and perhaps in the end it will have deserved to be - I think it was a risk worth taking.
A lot of people have taken back their takes on that trade this year. Honestly the Conley and Naw for Dlo trade and resigning Naz has really helped the gobert trade.
@@wemakecookie as far as getting around and through defenders, you're right. but Gobert isn't guarding the perimeter; its apples and oranges innit. I'm talking about what what happens after he Ant blows by his defender
Same here, as a Wolves fan all I thought was "great, we get the number 1 pick in the weakest draft ever"... This year I'm like "Holy crap, Ant is the new MJ"... lol.
@@nathaniellarson8I honestly had no clue how he’d do, I liked his game but his ceiling was tough to read. At best I thought he could be a 22/5 guy but damn, he’s just an all around problem lol
I saw the dunk against the pistons that Anthony Edwards made. That was unbelievable! He reminds me of a dwade, and maybe even a Kobe or Jordan, in terms of playstyle at least. We will have to wait and see how much better he can become, but i guess we will have to wait and see really. But either way that flying motion and hang time really reminds me of the players ive mentioned, nba legends that is. Either way we have to be patient though, he is still young and have to keep working pn his own game, but imo he can seriously establish himself in top 10 conversations soon. Aa of this season i would say he already is top 15 or atleast top 20. Lets just hope he keeps working on his game because imo it is gonna be a key factor for ants career✈️🏀💯😊
It’s just something about multi sport athletes that brings that extra something that I can’t explain and it always benefits them in basketball because it’s one of the few sports you are using almost every part of your body and athletic ability through the game.
There's definitely something to having played multiple sports, ive seen it in other sports where people who play basketball have an advantage aswell. Hope you've been well my guy
You’re exposed to different styles of training, it’s really good for your muscle development. Him being an elite football player in High School gives him a whole different level of lower body strength compared to his peers, you can tell Ant is a weight room guy
You know with all the game time and experience I feel like he’ll definitely take a huge leap of healthy in the playoffs. There’s weird ways to use the eye test and when you think about how he himself wanted to join the USA team just because, and how he takes over against some of the best players, I’ll be surprised if the wolves don’t do well if their whole team is healthy
Anthony Edwards will start to get superstar calls he deserves and foul call period. Nba will promote him more as the face and he is the best basketball player in the world just a matter of age/time
sucks that we are a small market team, any other team and he would easily be an All-Star starter this year especially since hes the best player on the best team in the West.
It's so hard to compare this guy to anyone. I mean I've been following the NBA since 73 or 74. Although he's much bigger and stronger as far as his explosive athleticism maybe a young David Thompson or Dominique Wilkins.
Imagine if Ant can play at the elite level of 80-100% every single game. I watch most of his games because I live in Minnesota. Some nights he does play at a lower standard, but he’s able to turn the switch at any given time. But if he actually played at the high level we want him to from start to finish, his numbers would be even better and it’ll come with more wins. 🐜🐺 SEND DA VIDEO 🎥💰
To me this is the part he needs to fix and that's the only reason I'm weary of getting too excited. His jumper and effort is too inconsistent rn. When he can sustain both night in night out, there's only one other name I can see that might still be ahead of him and that's Luka
i think he lets off a bit against teams we beat easily. Opposite of a stat-padder. I think that's fine honestly. Not good for stat watchers but all that really matters is winning
Edwards is awesome. When I saw that dunk where he tossed the ball off of the backboard, I could barely believe my eyes. Question though...did he travel? Just curious because it immediately popped into my head. Thanks for the video.
I love watching him and Kyrie play. Kyrie is the old T2, still has the handles but father time stops for nobody so when these two play, it's a treat. Kyrie is special in his own right but he didn't have a complete package -- though was close enough. I see Kyrie, Ma, and Jordan in Anthony. He said next year will be something special. He'll be 23 lol.
So many young guys taking over. PG, Harden, DeRozen, Kawhi, LeBron, CP3, KD, Steph, Westbrook, and a few others have given us a wonderful time in the 2000s and 2010s and some are still keeping up now but the next generation of stars are already taking over quickly
Right now I’d argue Ant has taken the mantle of Captain America, especially with the World Cup. Instead of some of the older guys who are more famous, for the Olympics, The USA should play Ant
Wow! He is a great player indeed. I take nothing away from his game. He is great! However , truth of the matter is that there will always be another one after him. But there will NEVER be another Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. I grew up watching Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and now Anthony Edwards. Big difference. No comparisons That's like comparing Bruce Lee to Chuck Norris. Jackie Chan to Steven Seagal. Big difference. No comparison
I will at some point, I just dont want to post anything atm given the situation around Deki's unfortunate passing and the team. Feels a bit too soon, thank you though.
Anthony Edwards has a killer instinct, and he is going to be in the top five players in the NBA, after all said and done. Ant Ed is only a pup, but he is going to be a dog by the time he reaches his full potential. The young guns that are taking over NBA are: Anthony Edwards Tyrese Haliburton Victor Wembenyama LaMelo Ball Ja Morant Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
