Cambridge Audio always nails it with their stuff. With the different price ranges they offer you always find something that fits in your system. Build quality is top. I think I'm going to get that one since Synolody DS Audio stopped USB Audio Streaming since DSM 7.0....
@@thomasward00that’s what confuses me too. What do streamers like the Cambridge Audio MXN/AXN/CXN, NAD CS1, Yamaha WXC 50, Arcam ST60, Arylic S50 Pro+ etc have that the WiiM Pro Plus doesn’t? The Arylic is the only one that competes at the price point. The rest are 2x to 3x the cost of the WiiM.
I love the look, but am concerned it won't do and stream everything my WiiM does. I love my WiiM, but will consider changing for a true, all around upgrade
The unit appears to be a simple rehash of the DacMagic line, albeit with in-built streaming services capablitiy, which was a feature on their premier Edge series pre-amps. Yet I am sure improvements were made in the interim, so, this doesn't seem to be anything other than fairly good value for those hoping to move to this platform. The DACMagic Plus that I own has only improved over time as I've improved the main components and terminal connections I now use with. It's like an heirloom of sorts.
Entry level Cambridge amp like axa series doesn’t have sub out/ crossover and neither does it. Rather go with Node streamer with more input and sub out for the same money.
@@juliensorel5455 We have 10 years experience with Bluesound Nodes - I do not know which generation you are referring to. But I have never heard this comment about the unit degrading over time. The Bluesound Ecosystem is clearly superior to a StreamMagic.
Degrade? I have three Node 2i since they came out used as streamers with Holo May and Denafrips DAC’s. Also a Node 2022 and a Powernode 2 since it came out. Also a Pi2 AES to compare in my multi room Roon setup. They are all on 24/7 and still running and sounding great. Not sure what degradation is referred to here that is specific to Bluesound. Maybe someone’s bad experience but would not generalize.
I had the Bluesound and the cambridge already. I prefer the streaming capabilities of the Cambridge in any device. And if you have a good dac that is great. I considerer the dac’s of Cambridge to bem a little to the analytic side…
Being new to the streamer world I have been horrified at haw carefully you have to look at spec's because they don't all do the same things . Relative to other streamers of comparable price and presumably sound , the axn10/mxn10 's "Swiss-army-knife" nature gives me the reassurance that im not going to regret some sort of mistake.
