Do you still have a car with a single Din radio slot? Do you wish you could put a modern multi media radio in the dash? Well Pioneer has got you covered, check out the new AVH-x7700BT. Thanks and enjoy
I love the fact that you explain the Stereo on english and also en español lo cual lo hace excelente muchas gracias por eso, thanks for that :) great video
Mitchell Wittler Your Ford will fit a double din radio like the AVH-x4700bs. The dash kit you will need is the Bestkits BKFMK552 dash kit and the BHA 5700r wire harness. Enjoy, thanks.
Hi, Thanks for the post... I got two issues with this unit. One, I have failed to make and receive calls using bluetooth. I cannot hear what the other person is saying but they can hear me. Two, the unit skips certain FM bands like 88.2, 99.6 among others, is there a way this can be fixed?
+Senad Selimovic when you use a USB the radio becomes the computer. The radio has to do all the cataloging and decoding. If the file size is large and the USB drive is big, you will get the problem you are having. When you use an iPod, the iPod does all the heavy lifting and you do not have this problem( I'm not saying get an iPod, it's just an example). The heart of the problem is the processor in the radio is to small and slow to keep up with what you want it to do.
+Five Star Car Stereo ok but is this problem in all car stereos? i called pioneer service and he is saying that he never saw something like this, and he will talk to a specialist and is going to call me back this week. but i feel bad about this because in such a price it supposed to be a strong device and work problem free, that means that the usb doesnt work problem free.
hi I have this stereo. I've been trying to mirror my phone with it. by playing youtube videos and having the video play on the stereo screen..is that possible?
Guys (Five Star Car Stereo), Can you please confirm this for me. Since this particular head unit in affect an NEX, doe that mean that with current firmware update it will become compatible with Apple CarPlay? This is the only single din unit on the market that has some potential to be compatible. You answer will help me decide whether or not I will buy it. Reards
hey..head my pioneer unit deh-4450BT, and I intend to upgrade better with a folding screen display, is it suitable to replace my old headunit? if it doesn't, do you have any replacement recommendations for my old deh4450Bt?
Any idea if you can link two Bluetooth devices to this? I use my iPod for music, but I want to pair my iPhone for calling. Or is it only able to do just the one?
Fair question, James. But would you not rather connect your iPod via the USB port? It will provide significantly better audio quality than Bluetooth, all while charging your battery.
great videos ! QUESTION...i have avh x7800bt and still can NOT play my musis videos from my 5th gen ipod touch...even after the latest firmware update..HELP ?
hey guys, awesome channel you have here, and I really applaud you for taking the time to address all the comments! seriously awesome of you I'm on the hunt for a fold out radio and this seems like a perfect fit, are there any other similar models out there, maybe from other brands that are also worth considering? [bluetooth and video inputs are a must]
Yes there are, Kenwood has the Kvt-7012bt. The nice thing about this radio is, it has an HDMI input. With the HDMI you can do video from a smart phone. Thanks for watching
does it play and can it be controlled to some degree with the screen in the closed position if need be? I've got a Jeep Wrangler and the screen would block my A/C vents. I might need to close it to periodically to shut my wife up about how "unbearably hot" it is because she wont roll down the window. ;-/ Great review BTW!
As for the regular iPod controls of your music: connection wise, is it the same as with app radio one? like all I need to do to access the music on my phone thru the iPod menu is one usb connection or is it more complicated than the app radio one way of accessing the music on my phone? Also, do you guys know if Apple Carplay will be added as a firmware update on this model, or would that be the next model?? great review by the way! :) subbed.
ivan barigye So the sound problem with the Bluetooth is a simple fix. First fade the speakers to the front and see if you get sound, my guess is no. The Bluetooth sound plays through the front right speaker, so if there is no sound that is usually the problem. Some car, mainly Chrysler, with factory amps need to be installed with the front and rear speaker wires switched. If a shop installed the radio take it back, they will know, it is a common mistake. The fm issue is because in the U.S. we only use the odd numbers. The even numbers are for European radios. I hope this helps, thanks
BUENAS TARDES.. TENGO UN ESTEREO pioneer avh-x7750bt Y CUANDO LO APAGO NO ME CORTA LA CORRIENTE DEL REMOTO X LO TANTO NO ME APAGAN LAS POTENCIAS.. SABRIAS COMO SOLUCIONARLO?? GRACIAS
it is posible to connect both iPhone an iPod and still be able to play media from both devices? I connected the iPod thru lighting cable, and iPhone via Bluetooth. But the streaming feature from phone is unavailable. I'ved setup to USB from Smartphone Setting menu.
Well we finally got time to test this out. We like you found out you have to pick one or the other not both on all the AVH radios except the 4000. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you thanks.
do you guys know how to reset this radio? the manual shows a little button you need to push in with like a paper clip but I can't find it. thanks for your help
The reset button is behind the detachable face( we have a how to remove it video up). There is also a " restore settings" in the main menu. Restore settings will return the radio to the new out of box settings, the buttons just resets the CPU.
Does it come with an aux cable or would u have to ask ur installer to attach one during installation? Also does the kit come with the appradio one cable for smart phones?
No it does not come with an Aux cable you would have to have the installer put one in. It does come with a USB cable for app radio and updates, we topically run it into the armrest. You plug your phone cable into the USB for App radio live. Thanks
I was thinking of downloading movies on to a 128 GB flash drive to conserve space of dvd's and because its not compatible with iTunes. Tell me if its a good idea or not. Also is this also compatible with spotify?
I have a couple quick questions about this deck: 1)will it display song info, such as artist, song title & station network name on Radio mode like it does for Bluetooth & has done so on previous models? 2)can Pandora be controlled thru the deck via an android phone?
(1) yes it will display radio information, it has an RDS tuner. (2) Pandora is done over Bluetooth with Android phones, and most phones have full control. Thank you for the question.
Check out our video on how to watch Netflix on a Pioneer AVH radio. We show you all the parts you need to get it to work on those radios. Hope this helps.
Brandon Bowie Yes the iPod just plugs into the USB and that's it no other cables. You will get full control of the iPod on the radio screen. No there will not be an update for CarPlay on these radios the processors are to small. Maybe we will see CarPlay in these radios in a couple of years when's it is not a premium feature. Thanks
Yes it will fit. If you have a after market radio in it already there are no parts to buy. If there is no after market radio, the harness is the 70-1858. The factory radio brain is above the gas pedal( must remove), that is where you will plug in. You will also need baa4 antenna adapter. Have fun, thanks
Hey guys, thanks for this useful video! I have 2 questions: 1. Do I need extra cables to install this is my Audi A3 (2005)? 2. I only have 4 front and 2 rear speakers, so I don't have to connect the subwoofer pre-amp output? Thx!
Yes you will need a harness however, nobody list the parts for your year. If you are going to do it yourself head over to Metraonline.com and see if you can match up a harness. To answer the other question, no you do not have to plug in the sub unless you add one. Thank you for the question.
Hi, I have a problem with my stereo. So I turned on my truck on and the stereo doesnt turn, no lights, no sound, no nothing. I disconnected the harness last Time it happend and started normally but it did it to me again today. What can it be?
This video does all the magic for me, I jus really wish you guys would have covered how to detach the faceplate because I cannot figure it out for shit lol
The dvd/movies i put into the disk player doesn't work! I can hear the audio but the video doesn't show up! Is there anything or anyway i can fix this problem? Is there an installation problem or something i didn't setup right with the software?
K.King90 the lt. Green break wire controls access to the video being displayed. It is a safety feature to keep you from watching movies while moving. We have a couple of videos up showing you how to do the bypass. There are 3 ways to hook up the lt. green wire 1 contect to the parking break and press when you needed. 2 hook the lt. green wire up to switch( ground 1 side and connect the other end to lt. green) 3. get the bypass from Amazon search microbypass.
do you think that it can works with a chevy suburban/tahoe 2005, cos many people say that the config of the dashboard doesnt allow to unfold the screen and this end like viewing to the down....to the carpet or seats but nothing to up to the view of the driver / passenger, is this true?? thanks in advance
buen estéreo tenía dudas si venía completo en equalizador tanto en cortes de frequencia como cuantas bandas traía el equalizador exelente explicación 👍
Evgenij Lichogrud Sorry no Apple CarPlay and this guy. It only has the NEX audio capabilities not the processor speed for CarPlay. Thank you for the question.
You can add Pioneer's AVIC u260 add on navigation to this radio. It is a full featured add on navigation system for the AVH line of radios . We do have a video up showing you how it works
I currently bought this unit my question is that i have a Kenwood KAC-M1804 Compact 4-channel Amplifier for my rears and front 4x6s (total of 4)... If im looking for quality audio should i get rid of the amp and go directly from the radio or keep the amp?
PIONEER AVH x7700BT ..how look out when you install rear camera .kan you get the mark line ...my old pioner didnt show mark line ...The Pioneer ND BC6 Rear View Camera
Franciso Monroy nope. That feature has not made it into the NEX software. It has been missing since the first 4000 and in 3 years has never been added. Hopefully when the new product is introduced in June ish it will have it.
It was never said how much this radio cost and where we could buy this radio at ?? If you can please give me a link so that i am able to purchase this radio.. Thanks...
Yes it will fit fine with a little cutting for room behind the radio. Just so you know Metra makes a new dash kit the dp-3002b to fit a double din radio in your dash.
Hi I bought this player after watching it on your channel, I've also bought the apple hdmi adaptor and a hd lead with yellow red white terminals on other end for the av input but I'm not getting my picture on the pioneer screen, my phone highlights blue on the top for about ten seconds then goes away, help please,😅
Can you get video playback from netflix or other 3rd party movie apps using an iphone 4 or 4s like you could with previous models when using app mode? Or does appradio not support that?
+Five Star Car Stereo Inc. Thank you I will definitly try this! Is there a certain brand cable I should look for or will any 30 pin to RCA cable work? Also, if I get a 30 pin to Lightning adapter will it for work for iphone 5 and 6? I actually have an iphone 6 and would like to play video in my car, but can't. That's why I was going to use an older iphone 4 and use video through that but if I can skip that somehow and just my phone that would be fantastic.
+Erik Powell we used the iSimple brand but any cable will work. The iPhones with the lightning connection will not work with this solution. If you want them to work check out the video on the iSimple Medialinx we did.
So I see that this unit plays nice with iOS devices through Siri Eyes Free, but will this (and other Pioneer units, for that matter) do the same for Android phones? Namely, if an Android phone is connected to this unit and the button normally used to conjure up Siri is pressed, will it activate the voice dialing feature ("OK Google") properly? Thanks for your help with this!
Awesome! The instruction manual wasn't clear on this and made it sound like it only worked for iPhones and not Android phones. Thank you for the prompt reply!
Hey guys what's the settings u use for the radio to play once u eject the cd I mean on other decks u take out the cd and the radio atomically starts to play?
There is a purple/ white wire on the radio plug that is the reverse wire input. It has to be connected to the reverse light wire to trigger it. You also have to go into the the main menu and turn on the reverse camera.
Yes guys dvd works fine, iv temporarily connected the handbrake wire to an ashtray, I'm suspecting it's the cheap hdmi to av lead iv bought off eBay, yours is the isimple one, what do you think?
Hi guys, GREAT video.......I have questions. All of the sales sites for this particular unit - the Pioneer AVH-X7700BT - say it will fit my 2005 Prius and replace the stock unit. What would be the best back-up camera to use and should it be a wired unit or a wireless one. Can it be set up so that I can use the rear image anytime I want (even driving forward down the road?). And,can it be wired so that I can still use the stock Prius screen to still show the basic info it's always shown - motors operation, battery level, etc? It never had a stock back-up camera or navigation package. Thank you!
The Prius can also fit a double din instead of a flip out if you would like. The Bestkits TA2103b dash kit will fit both. The top information screen will still have all the same functions as it currently does. We like to us the Pac-Audio cameras, but there are tons to choose from. With cameras you get what you pay for. If installed properly you will be able to see the camera at anytime you want. There is a button in the menu to turn it on and off any time. A couple of other things to consider some of the radios also have the ability to add a front camera. If your car has the JBL system there is a special harness you will need. Pac-Audio TATO. If you have steering wheel controls you will want the SWI-rc. I hope this gets you started, thank you for the question.
+Five Star Car Stereo You guys are so on top of it I can hardly believe it! Your reply does bring up a couple questions though............firstly, what would be the advantages of going with a double din unit and what would you recommend? Could I use the factory Prius camera (I happen to have one!) instead of an aftermarket unit with the Pioneer unit? I would think it would make for a cleaner installation but is the stock camera up to the task? A front camera sounds like a good idea - will the AVHx7700BT handle this?
Sorry for the delay. The only advantage of the double din is not having the fold out. Radios you might want to look at are the 4700 ( same features has the 7700), 5700( adds HD and front camera opinion) or the 4100nex ( upgraded features). If your factory camera works on the screen now it should continue to after you replace the radio. The 7700 will not do front camera.
There is a USB cable on the back. The radio comes with a 5' cable to run any where it will reach. Some people take out the cigarette lighter and replace it with a flush mount USB. Thank you for the question.
Yes it should if your factory radio is the single din version ( about 7"x 2"). If so there are special tools use to remove the radio, they go in the Tel/ # buttons. All you will need is the BHA1784( non factory amp) or the BHA1784r( factory amp also get two SNI-1 noise filters). There is also the Baa7 antenna adapter to. Thanks
Hey guys, your videos are great. Any trick to make the factory amp to work with an aftermarket stereo? The blue-white wire is on, but I have no sound. Based on my research, it looks like the the amp is the issue, but I haven't found the solution. Thanks in advance.
+Air Bastarrica unfortunately if you have the blue/ wire connect and the amp does not turn on you may need to add an amp. On the premium stereo versions we typically add a five channel amplifier to power up the factory speakers.
hey guys, I've got an 1988 mustang. Will this fit? I would like to stay with the single din. I'd like to possibly drop the a.c./heater controls down and move the unit up do it doesn't block my vents. thanks!
You would have to move the AC down for this radio to fit. It does not come out of the dash far enough to clear the AC controls. They do make a double din dash kit for your car if you change your mind.
+Five Star Car Stereo I'd like to get a Pioneer with all the bells and whistles in a double din with a detachable face, navigation, Bluetooth calling, back up camera, etc...just like everyone, worried about theft. if they want it they'll get it.
