The fuel filler door DOES lock. The reason it did not lock for you is because you had the remote too close to the dashboard. Were you to walk away (taking the remote with you) the fuel filler door would have locked automatically to protect the contents of the fuel tank from sabotage or potential siphoning.
No it’s just a push of the door and it opens it doesn’t lock there’s no latch or lock or release button on the dash close to the light adjustments on the lower dash where they are on the Grand Cherokees. It would be nice if it locked though.
@@seanjones7980 What you just said ran counter to the struggle I had getting the flap to open the day I took delivery. The salesgal told me to try moving the keyfob closer to the dash. That appeared to work. But, I just now went outside to check... without my keyfob. The damned flap opened! I'm both stunned and dismayed, as this represents a security risk.
