Very disapointed we cant share any images from our google search for "chonky" as "Chonky describes animals that are adorably round, plump, pudgy, or otherwise heavier than average." - Dictonary.com
"I feel like we have settled to a spot where we're not going to see the continuation of slacker longer. I think we are there." Megatower 2025, HA 63.2°
The past few years Transition appears to have been pulling the geometry innovation cart. Since their spire is now 62.5 - 63... Yeah we'll probably be headed that way for enduro bikes.
It'll likely be slacker than that. They know where they want to get with head angles, however to make the most money they'll release a new model every few years to keep up with other brands. The 62 degree realm of hta seems like the sweet spot imo.
Thanks for the detailed video! Which build was he on? C GX AXS Reserve? Curious to see if they followed the Oxblood Nomad C and CC paint difference. Your build looks like you can still see the carbon layup underneath the paint.
@@lexusstefan927 This is definitely a C GX AXS Reserve build in the video and it looks to still have the nice paint job, but could just be the studio lighting. SC told me "the paint does indeed change from the C to the CC frame options" so who knows haha.
@@lexusstefan927 saw both colors in person at work today. Got to check out both CCs in the sun and the blue and green colorway is so dark that you can't really tell that much that the frame isn't a solid color. The green Santa Cruz logo, on the other hand, definitely changes color in the light. Great looking bike! Can't wait for mine to show up.
Stop calling them acoustic bikes, you have mountain bikes and mopeds. But on the Megatower I can't wait to try one, I have the previous one but with a 180 fork a cascade link and 170 coil in the rear, so I'm curious how they will compare.
The hot the 2019 v1 bike and I love it but I liked the more trail feel now I don’t know if I’m gonna buy this one because it might be a little bit to big for my terrain I might like it too much lol
@@mikesbikes lol, and if that bike felt good on you. What more if you had a proper sized one. I'm 5'10 and a half and I fall between a Medium and Large. Leaning towards medium tho, should I choose one
@@martsmarts It's always tough to choose. For most people on the cusp, they tend to go with the smaller size although a lot of it comes down to personal preference. Check out the page on megatower on Mikesbikes.com we shared the size chart and recommendations from Santa Cruz. mikesbikes.com/collections/santa-cruz-megatower
@@martsmarts if it helps, I'm 5'10" and have had a V1 for over three seasons now and have not much desire for something any longer than what I have. So, if I replace my V1 with a V2 after this season, it's undoubtedly gonna be with a size M. The M is longer in both wheelbase and rear center (not surprisingly) than my L V1.
@@TFritz82 thanks Tim. Leaning towards medium. But I do wanna demo ride one as well. Pretty sick to have an agile one as I prefer riding them aggressively
Great bike , rides smooth ru-vid.comUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L I added a bigger spring loaded seat to it . Takes a bit of adjusting cables to get brakes and shifting to perfect . I've owned quite a few bikes in the past that were absolutely uncomfortable to ride and they always ended up as garage wall decor . I'm not seeing that with this one. It's pretty light I've only ridden it a few miles but I like it . As for the pedals falling off in the other reviews , the pedal arms are aluminum along with the pedal studs look to be also . I would not overtighten them. I can see it would be very easy to overtighten them and strip the threads right off . All in all I think it's pretty good quality besides the aluminum pedal thing
