The New 2022 Trek Top Fuel Ride and Review | It’s DIALED In! 

I have a 2022 Top Fuel 7, I ride it everywhere! Through town, out on the highway, then up dirt roads into the wild.

Bro that bike is mad! The new top fuels have the updated geometry so it’s no longer an XC bike more like a trail bike! You won’t have any trouble going uphills like you would with the longer travel bikes and smash the downhills as well. That hub sounds sick man! 👍🏻

You going up that ramp to get to the staircase shows that the knock block doesn't limit the turning ability of Trek bikes.

I love that your LBS has such a quiet area where you get a decent demo session in. Three of my local LBSs are in very congested areas and right off major highways with not even any bike paths or sidewalks to get any distance for a true impression. You’re pretty much stuck in the busy parking lot of a strip mall.

Marty, I have the 2021 Fuel EX8 GX spec. I ride basic trails and wanted something to do the nana level trails at the local bike park as I've had 150-166mm full sus travel bikes for the last 17years (i'm now old, heavy as F' and have been broken too many times to remember!), and was really worried about 'only' having 130mm at the rear. I was wrong to worry, these modern bikes are nothing short of fantastic. Fuel, Fuel EX, in ALLOY, you won't go wrong - I say alloy as I have seen MANY 10-15YO+ alloy bikes at the local trails still riding strong. Never seen a 10-15YO regularly used carbon bike at the park! (like I know they are a LOT better/stronger now days than older carbon bikes, but you can't argue with the obvious truth!)

i have the 2020 9.8 xt top fuel.. its a great all around bike, i use it mainly as my winter bike (im mostly a road biker) to keep up my fitness year round

THE HUB SOUND!!!! omg that's badass on a bike!!!! and yes, carbon fiber is also badass. I ride the 2020 Specialized Epic Expert Carbon Fiber and I love it!!! Hope that you get that bike, it looks badass

I picked up a Top Fuel 7 from the same store a couple of weeks ago. I'm loving it so far!

120mm travel isn't long, but it's hardly short travel either. Quality components will do a better job than cheaper ones with the "right" flashy numbers associated with them. If that was a carbon frame, well, that's going to feel quite a bit more nimble than a steel one, so definitely try before you buy of course! I don't share your loyalty to Trek bikes, but I give them a lot of credit for paying a lot of attention to paint and appearance. Other brands don't spend enough effort on that, the Treks literally shine in that area!

Nice review. I just picked up the Fuel Ex 9.8. Love this bike.

The geometry of the top fuel is similar to your polygon, but I'd say the Trek is an improvement. But the main difference you are feeling is the difference between high end components and budget components

Top fuel is a nice bike. But for where I ride here in western North Carolina my 2020 fuel Ex 9.9 is the perfect do it all bike!!

Have them put in tire liners. They'll stop pretty much all organic sharps from getting to your tubes.

Snag up a top fuel and do some XC races. Great bike for most of the front range, will get up the climbs like a boss and still be decent on the down

I had my 2021 Roscoe stolen and I order the top fuel 8 and it just came in. I'm in Texas working I live in Edmonton Alberta and the only xl bike I could find in January was in Kamloops . I hope they hold onto the bike until I get back to Canada in a month. nervous

I'm looking into this bike(9.8 gx axis?) vs Transition Spur vs YT Izzo. The trek is the most readily available one with quite a few options and I can buy em locally vs the other 2. Really want the spur but its so hard to get my hands on, I'm currently on an Ibis Ripmo AF which is honestly too much for the trails im on, it was quite a difference riding my friend's ripley that I realized how hampered I was, even though I love that bike.

I have top fuel 8 , bike is great. Beware the rockshox Sid though. Mine has been sent off to rockshox twice now in the span of 3 months due to manufacturer defects.
