The New 2021-22 Ford F-150 Raptor Review! The New Raptor is here and it is very, very cool. This is no hellcat and it is very different than the Ram TRX, but it is a Super High Performance Truck in it's own right. It's exciting and incredible to drive. From the luxuries creature comforts, down to the heart stopping performance, this is one Amazing piece of auto engineering.

Have a ‘23 Azure with the 801A package and absolutely love driving it every single day. Sport mode in 4A or H will put you firmly in your seat off launch and it sounds amazing. Have left a few sports cars wondering… Is it worth the price tag? Without a single doubt. I find excuses just to drive it… Great vid, thanks for the thoroughness, even with all you covered, there is more to this beast!

Great review. Just trade my 2019 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for a 2023 Ford Raptor. This Raptor is a awesome truck and feel like you can do anything on road to off-road. Definitely catch myself making up things to do just to drive it.

The truck is nice but the gauges are absolutely the worst from any manufacturer! Bar graphs with numbers in the middle!! Really??!!! Can't figure out how to design instruments? The easiest to read are pure analog gauges! It can certainly be digital version of analog gauges and many manufacturers have them - from Honda to Lamborghini! Ford needs to fire their entire design team that came up with this dumb idea of these bar graphs! Don't have a clue - just COPY what Honday or Lamborghini has and be done with it!!!

Is that spray liner factory or aftermarket? I’m picking one up for msrp 78k and the only difference is spray liner.

The Spray in bed liner is the Ford ToughBed. It is factory. I really like it actually. Many places will do a great job aftermarket though.

Simply put...if it is what you want and you love it after getting it...who cares? I traded in a 2016 Mercedes G63 Wagon. Dealership had to actually pay me for the deal and I LOVE this truck! Mine is identical to yours but white. Best truck ever owned by far and I have had the Ram's the Tundras (did love that truck too) and still...I feel this thing is unbelievable. I paid a lot due to demand, costs of vehicles and so on but for me has been great. Anyway, loved the video. Mine only has 1200 miles on it and I learned a few things from your vid. I smile like you when I jump on it. Thanks!!

I know this is an older video but I found it at the right time. I have 2022 Tundra TRD Pro and I’m starting to regret the purchase as the Raptor is the truck of my dreams. I am going to see about purchasing a Raptor this week and this really in depth review of your truck really helps. Thank you!

The Tundra always has a special place in my heart with my family, but the Raptor is a great fun truck. If you can handle the price difference and the costs of ownership of the Raptor then go for it. I know I love the Raptor. It does only take Premium Fuel, higher price tag, insurance will cost more and with the difference in brakes, wheels, tires, so on it will cost more to own over time. Just keep all of that in mind when making a well informed decision.

@@TorqWorks thanks! I actually did make a purchase of a Raptor and drive it home last weekend! Couldn’t be happier about my decision. Got $72K for the tundra ($4K over MSRP). The owners manual says the Raptor is rated to take 87 octane but I’m not taking chances and have been putting only premium in it. Financially I can handle the extra costs of ownership. Interesting enough my insurance actually went down by $243/year with the Raptor. Possibly because of safety features🤷🏻‍♂️. Thanks for the reply!! Cheers

I have a 2019 Toyota Tundra trd pro and there’s nothing wrong with it. Really want to trade it for a Ford Raptor. Had a 2016 F150 before and had nothing but problems.

Worth 90,000? I priced out a 37's package truck and it was 80,000. You mentioned condensation on your side markers? Never had a issue with my 17 Raptor. Most have not, but some might. Would love a new Raptor, but I have to pay off the house next.... Hope you enjoy your gen 3.

As of about 4 months ago, at this trim package level, jump on it. I would suggest the 35 though. The 37 won’t get quite the responsiveness and not sure the clearance is necessary. Any Raptor is a Raptor!

Great video. I just bought a 2023 3rd Gen F 150 Raptor Oxford White w/ Black Interior. I liked the video because you showed me how to operate the many functions! I do have a question. When I back up a trailer and put it in reverse, a solid beep warning goes off. On my 2019, I could shut it off with a yes/no option. I cant figure out how to shut the back up warning off on the 2023

The similar 3.5 L ecoboost engine on the Ford GT has 660 hp and 550 lbs of torque. I'm sure there's various reasons and I'm no engineer but why can't the ecoboost on the Raptor produce the same numbers?

I come back to this vid now and again, it's just a solid, thoughtful, informative video. Another question. Which do you think would have a smoother, quieter, long distance highway drive, the Platinum with powerboost and levelled on 35's, or the Raptor on 35's? I wonder if the Raptor's springs would still be more buttery smooth and quiet than the Platinum with its max luxury seats and rear leafs even if the shocks were upgraded on the Platinum front and rear, any thoughts, experience? Oh, and you said you can't park it in most garages, I assume you mean at private homes, but as for public garages, what is the height of the Raptor? I ask because a common public garage entry height such as at many hotels or lodges is 7' or a bit more.

I've just bought a 23 Raptor with 37 package. It does not ride anything like a regular F-150. Comfort is on a different level. No, you won't get all the 50 way adjustable seats and max recline seats, but the onroad comfort of the Raptor is superior to regular F-150s. I can drive 6-7 hours at a time without getting any fatigue. You can park in most garages if they're 7ft tall. My Raptor is on 37s so it's a bit taller than the regular 35s, but I can fit in 7ft garage with no problems. The antenna doesn't touch the ceiling. Hope this helps!

and the Ram is priced at 20k more….also has702 vs 720 hp in the raptor. Both great trucks - just personal preference. I’d go with the new Raptor R over Ram ‘s current offering - oh yeah, they are no longer offeringTRX after 2024anyway

It's a beaut! I wonder, is there such a thing as 35 snow tires, studded or not, but to swap out with this during ski season, true, high quality snow tires? And is the 801A the highest available? Oh, and another question. Love those cleats in the bed, but the cleats closest to the rear lift gate that opens, would those interfere with installing those swing out storage bins that one can purchase aftermarket and put between the lift gate and the tire bump on each side? And if so, is there a place to install the two closest to the rear lift gate what would not interfere with those storage bins? Thanks. And I thought of yet another. Is there a deep snow/sand mode or something that works just well in its stead? I live in mountainy ski country and something like that could be useful. Solid review, thanks for that too.

I am not sure if it would interfere with that swing out box. I am sure that it could since they are mounted low. Oh a good real snow tire would be nice, but I have seen the stock KO2 tires perform very well in snow and ice. It is a fantastic truck and loads of fun. There is a Snow and Mud drive mode and it works very well.

I have a nice Gen 2 but I really want a Gen 1 with Roush Supercharger and King Baja shocks and 37 “ BF Goodrich Baja tires. Hard to beat those 6.2 L engines. I see a bunch with almost 200k miles on them.

I like to use the step as a seat on my husband's gen 3, but at barely 4ft11, I'm about the size of your kids🤣. I use it when they are between runs on routes they do timed trial runs on. I like watching the action, and he always forgets a chair lol.

I don't think it is. My 2020 did, but this one doesn't it has extra accent lighting that shine into this area that make it a non issue for me.

Yes I have the 2021 GEN three cupholders are illuminated As well as door pockets a whole bunch of ambient lighting in this truck. I heard they took it out for 22

Yeah they took a lot of that away. I miss being able to change the ambient light colors in the 2021-22 from my 2020 model but it's ok. Still an awesome truck. I didn't buy it for the interior lights. =)

You will sit on a list and if they get a miracle of ford just sending them one you may have a chance at that one or if they have allocations for some from Ford that are not already sold. It's not a fun process anymore.

With a current 50.55% gas price increase from a year ago now at a high of $4.67 a gallon……..enjoy whilst you can. You will need deep pockets to run one of these from now on!!! Base price cost, insurance cost, fuel cost….i know were i would be making some lifestyle saving. Selling this truck to the next 20 year old starry eyed fool on the lot. That is all…out.

It's a super car in a truck form. I would do the same. I am not going to steer you away from it. If you can afford it and it's your choice do it. They are fantastic and fun.
