Maybe capturing a city should flood all the tiles in its boarders. It’s a small change that might make them feel a little more useable on land-heavy maps
I have tried to watch some of your videos and i really recomend you do a little editing. I like your content and always feel compelled to click on it, but I do find myself having a hard time with the pace. Some criticism with nothing but your growth in mind bro. All love
keep in mind that with the waterways tech aquarion units can flood tiles outside of their native terrain, making them useable by naval units, though it feels a bit underwhelming since it only affects one tile edit: conversely, all other tribes can now landfill, which does the opposite, as in transforms a flooded tile into regular land
@@MrBlueberryCheesecake Imo it's quite alright because one tile can possibly change the "tide🌊" of battle because of all the new units and other base units getting creep ability. Plus you can flood enemy territory and possibly cut connection and cut movement for the enemy.
I don't think it's enough to make them viable. The 2 star ruin cities will drive up tech costs which aquarion struggles with already and they still don't have a single viable land unit besides crabs and there aren't even roads anymore. Tridencions are still impractically expensive to get to and everything else gets outranged with the sharks getting beaten by defender rammers. It's a step in the right direction but not enough. I think to make them truly viable they need at least one decent land unit or an equivalent of polarism for getting about on the seas. It's cool though.
I agree but I find it hard to come up with a good solution. Aquarion should be bad on drylands and lakes, but damn... Their army does nothing on land but their navy is very strong. Maybe they need to rework even more of the tech tree to make everything fit in better
@@MrBlueberryCheesecake It might be too much, but if you got rid of the tech for dispanding units and lumped it in with the tridencions or other stuff you could have the connection from riding strait to tridencions but keeping the tier 3 cost. Might work?
Early game crabs are hilarious if you can bounce them off your opponents warriors with escape and then swing them Hail Mary at your opponent's capitals. If you have defense bonuses for forests or mountains, you can really make a player panic.
