The new attacking size-ups were not very well explained in the tutorial, so I'm here to show you why these moves are a game changer and how this should be a foundational part of your bag!
Here's a hop step or post move I have never seen anybody else cover. When you hold the right stick away from the basket to do a post fade, you can rotate the stick around until it is facing the basket to do a post fade bank shot. It is great for players that have a high bankshot tendency like Tim Duncan. You can also do this with escape hop shots. Hold R2 and Right stick in a direction and then rotate the right stick towards the basket during the release
Another very underutilized move-set this year is escape jumpers by holding R2 and holding the right stick in different directions to do hop step shots. Especially when jumping towards the basket. Try calling a P&R and as you are going around the screen hold R2 and Right stick forward and you'll quickly jump forward past the screen for a shot while the defender is usually to slow to contest. This is great for hoping in different directions to keep the screener between you and the defender. There's a ton of great combinations I slay ppl with.
Great video, clear & descriptive explanation, definitely going to work on my handles while playing a pausing your video 😂, keep up the great work 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Thank you bro!! I am also cooking up a dribble tutorial which covers a lot more in depth stuff! Dropping on the weekend because it deserves extra attention to detail!
I had no idea you could double up on the attacking crossover. That's a game changer!! I pulled Tis The Season PD K.D and Luka today and they are ungodly at creating space and doing hop jumpers!
How did you chain. That double escape crossover size-up into a smooth step-back with Kyrie at 0:05 ? When i try doing it there's a bit of choppiness or a slight lull before he does the stepback
Sadly a big percentage of 2K players are not even familiar with how in depth this year's game is. There's just so many hidden animations I have picked up just from playing
Yeah they most definitely are, I’m now trying to make sure I don’t telgraph them as much by comboing them with basic sizeups. These combos definitely go hard!
If the ball is in your right hand for instance, flick the right stick to the right then immediately to the left and you’ll do a unique size up based on your moving crossover. Donovan Mitchell has an OP one
Oh hell yeah Bray! Those are the switch-back combos, I 100 percent agree that Donovan Mitchell's combo is so OP because it launches him forward. That's a banger of a move!
Don't forget. This also opens up the face up game in the high post. Especially for Hakeem. You can even do a retreat dribble out of the triple threat (Or post with a live dribble)into an attack dribble/sizeup into a Left trigger fadeaway or Hopstep Jumper, or Stepback Jumper/Sidestep Jumpers.
Yeah, I’ve already started to incorporate the attacking sizeups out of triple threat and post launches. It’s definitely one of the best ways to attack your defenders, and can be especially deadly if used in non traditional positions. Already got a deep dive planned for these combos, stay tuned!!
They actually fixed the change of pace dribbles. I’ve been definitely enjoying that. This has been the best dribbling in my opinion as far as usefulness goes
Yeah!! I was supposed to make a vid on why change of pace got even better this year! Might drop it tomorrow. And I definitely agree that dribbling is the best it’s been. It’s incredible how you can shift guys around!
Jamel my SimNation brother! I just followed you on Twitter and I'll give you a shout so that others can find you as well! I'll ask around if we have some sort of discord server for SimNation so you can link up with a lot of the guys! Thanks for your support bro, and really glad you are enjoying being part of SimNation!
The sad thing about the attacking in and out is that you can never predict which variation it is going to do and only one of them is super useful. Sorry for all the comments, just been commenting as I go through the vid and it is such great content 🤣
No man, I appreciate you bro!! I agree with the attacking in and out though, there's just too many variations and not really one way to trigger them on command without getting a dice roll on which animation you get!
Anything held with R2 are size up escape packages. So the attacking crossover and the double escape dribble tween are sizeup escape packages. The attacking in and out isnt done by holding r2 so thats just signature sizeups!
Great video but I have a question. How do you use the attacking size ups so that you move laterally? I can only use the attacking size ups to where I’m moving North-South, not East-West.
Each player has their own style of attacking sizeups! KDs first cross is lateral, so is booker’s. Try and see what works best for you! If you want more lateral movement try the escape dribble crossovers too!
Yeah, these are good burst moves that at least are a bit forgiving in terms of adrenaline boosts. Should be a good change of pace move to cross people up!
Hey, how do you get the lines to tell you where to go on the court? I started a carreer mode, You had to press L1 for that but seems like it doesn’t work anymore. Does anyone have any tips?🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 pleasee
this year's 2k is a really huge upgrade from previous 2k's. too bad they not releasing a next gen gameplay on pc. looks like they really want us to buy console. Just have to wait another year, but i got impressed on this year's 2k next gen gameplay. They didn't upset the 23 goat MJ.
I made a video on why you should get better from that spot video in 2K22 and they told me i was crazy lol. Glad to see someone who values that area too! But I got some other stuff cooking in the meantime!
Try combining any two powerful moves, so the drag back and then momentum cross should help, then when you combine that with something like a moving stepback or behind the back launch.
I made a 2 way 3 level scorer. I make the same Kawhi build every year lol. They added his jump shot this year finally. You need an 85 mid or 3 to get it though. I only sacrificed on block and standing dunk since those are his lowest stats.
Truthfully have not gone online yet because alam ko pukpok pa siguro servers. I’m not too hopeful though. Pero bumili ako bagong router na hopefully maka tulong. Ano isp mo bro? Globe ako, nung 2K22, basta pinoy or na sa hk-sg kalaban ko medyo okay naman.
@@KevinCruz016 if I have pro stick jump shots turned on but my square button shot metre is off can I use the dpad then square to do an escape jumper/step back?
@@KevinCruz016 Each NBA2K performance is much better than the one before it. In the 2K company, progress can be seen every year. This year they are just wow :)
Man so far the rec is such a different environment without all the steal spamming. I also love the transition foul penalty they implemented. If someone spam you as soon as you get the rebound and try to push it up court, one free throw and the ball!
Kyrie’s dribble package is the most fun I’ve used so far. For wings, PG is pretty good, his attacking sizeups are pretty fun. But I got to play around some more to see what’s the best especially since they added new ones!
Attacking Size-Ups was in NBA 2k10. I’m almost 100% certain it was another 2k installment as well. This is nothing new tbh but it does look really good with next-gen graphics
It's at least new this year, because it wasn't in last year's 2K, so I think this is very much worth highlighting because it changes the way people can set defenders up in 2K. If we're going back as far as 2K10 then this is still a new mechanic.
I was just playing 2k9 and 10 last night and I can tell you with complete certainty, it is no where near as in depth as this year. This is the best it has been for a very long time
Absolutely! Got the post game and dribbling next. But escape jumpers and finishes will be the last in the basics. Anything you want looked at specifically?
My advice is to practice just making sure that when you dribble with the RS, its just making sure its light taps. Any excessive hold of the RS will lead to a shot. Hope this helps!
Defenses felt like they were cheating in 22 especially on HOF. This feels more natural and dynamic. I’m loving it a lot! And of course bro, I appreciate you!
Bra the dribbling and dribbling moves on 2k23 are levels above 2k22 💯💯💯💯 only playmaking shot creators That want unlimited stamina aren’t gonna agree with me 🤦🏿♂️😂
Thats the HOF AI being the Hof ai. They’re designed to cheat on defense. That said, all of this footage is on hall of fame, the latest video I put out using Steph uses a lot of these combos. No one move will work every time thats why you got to have multiple counters and set-ups. Check out the Russ video I put out as well.
If someone not familiar with blending is the one playing it definitely can look janky. Maybe i contributed to that lol. Since im still getting used to 23
I agree. I’m actually coming from 2k21 and I have to say that 2k21 feels a lot nicer, faster, smoother and more easy to understand in terms of dribbling. You can apply the same “dribble moves” to any player and how well those moves are executed are down to the players ratings and attributes etc. yet now in 2k23 you have to learn combos and it’s frustrating if you just want to play the game and have fun. Currently 2k23 feels really janky and I try and turbo and it feels like I can’t go past anyone? Is it only me saying this? Or am I completely wrong.
They did change up the lighting and the skin shaders, it’s a preference thing for sure, but I actually enjoy how it looks now much better than the past few years!
Some of it may be my fault as I may not be blending the new animations well. But my experience has been anything but, its the smoothest playing 2K of all time!
