While we outside of Japan won't get Twilight Masquerade cards until late May, they're already out in Japan and Dragapult ex from the new set is absolutely dominating! Yeah, I'm getting kinda bored of the meta right now. But I'm sure we're going to say the same for dragapult soon enough lol. 23% is a lot to take up for a meta.

My big concern is that Charizard domination could have easily been nerfed by just making 1 good grass deck. If/when Dragapult takes off, there’s no type weakness to exploit. Gonna have to find another way to bring it down.

@@InThirdPerson Yeah, I'm a returning player, haven't played since roaring skies. Back then it seemed there were more options in the meta. Even glass decks like swarming sting Beedrill were super powerful till they banned forest of giant plants. Meta seems pretty narrow these days, but it might just be because of the rotation. We'll see what happens in the fall when things level out.

I love the idea of spread decks, which is why I really enjoy Meowscarada right now, even if it’s off-meta for everything but Charizard. Between this and the new Greninja, looks like there’s at least a couple good options for spread decks coming.

Yeah, I'm currently playing iron hands/baby Miraidon. It is a meta deck but lower on the tier list, and preys on Lugia. Rotation happened only last month so once we see some new sets and supplemental products we might see a bit of more options in the meta.

Jirachi can’t block Dragapult’s damage counters. Jirachi only blocks damage counters from attacks from basic Pokemon and Dragapult is an evolution.

Its awesome to see Dragapult do well, but lets not forget that the Japan meta is quite different. Lugia is very high, but in EU/NA it was never that good despite its great success in japan. Bo3 makes a huge difference Then again, I could be wrong, and regardless I want this deck to be good cus I love it so far

I don’t see it being the main way to play Dragapult. But it’s kind of insane that Charizard is so self-sufficient that you can bolt it to anything.

@@InThirdPerson It's mainly got legs in the deck because you already play a lot of cards that support the Zard strategy, but you can also evolve into Zard, attach 2 fire to Zard, 1 to Dragapult and then attach Psychic and swing with the Pult, it's crazy that in one turn you can easily have a powered up Zard ex AND Dragapult ex

I think dragapult ex is kinda a pile deck. The extra hype is maybe from being a new deck (like roaring moon ex was). Playing online with lugia it feels like a 50/50 matchup but I’ve been able to take definitive wins with lugia when they can’t keep up in the tempo game

Thanks for the video. Im not particularly upset with Charizard being the best deck. To me it encompasses the heart of ptcg. Big stage two pokemon with a solid attack. A simple linear gameplan. And its main monster being a Pokemon poster child.

My issue with it is the built in energy acceleration, I could understand if it was just big and strong, but the attack costing only 2 and it accelerating 3 energy to boot is just too much

Rabsca blocks effects of attacks (like damage counters) too, Manaphy doesn’t

Dragapult doesnt deal damage on the bench, it puts damage counters, which is a different thing. its the same with sableye, which manaphy also cant prevent

Please dethrone Charizard. It’s so unfair that no matter how many new cards come out he’s still number 1 and when he rotates they’ll probably make a new one just as busted.

I blame Jake Paul 😂 but seriously I'll take this over the magic the gathering power creep to make standard like commander, or yugioh still not rotating nor making sealed a format, given so much text on cards. Pokemon also has more value collecting lol imma chase gengar eraser and I like the mini binders and sleeves included in some products.

Charizard ex is good with extra damage and built in energy acceleration. It’s been like that forever but throwing a dragapult line in zard I feel makes all the difference. Also in the lost box version.
