Excellent breakdown of the new Daytona. In my opinion this look much better and more balanced than the old one.

Great video! I have this new one and let me tell you what a perfect job you did on this video. I can tell right away that you’re a true enthusiast.. very refreshing compared to the other type of watch content out there. Anyway, great news (for me) about this new one is that as you mentioned it still wears great BUT it definitely does wear alittle bit larger/just has more wrist presence-- but again that’s great FOR ME because I have 7.5 inch wrist.. and so, my old Daytona 116500 while I do love it, admittedly had this just ever so slightly too small look (on me) .. When I got this new one I knew I was going to be much happier with it because I also have white gold Daytona (11 series) and was aware of how much larger those wear.. Nice to see someone else notice all this cool little throwback details.. subscribed!

Great video and review. To add some details on the previous 1165 generations SS, TT and YG shared the same asymmetrical lugs with slim case. The PT, RG and WG shared the same larger symmetrical case and the endlinks were not flush to the case. All the OysterFlex YG RG WG shared a larger symetrical case similar to the full metal PT RG and WG

Absolutely, I appreciate the additional thoughts! I do kind of miss that svelte mid case of the prior steel references.

Really nice overview on the new Daytona. This is my dream watch to acquire. I hope some day I can sport it on my wrist. A real beauty! Keep up the great content.

Just got the 116500 black dial from my AD. Also have two Zenith Daytonas. Is there a difference between the old and new case besides the lugs, I mean specifically the smooth side of the case. Great content! Subscribed!

Yes I have both the 116500 and the new 126500 and yes the case is different in many ways.. best way for you to see is to search “watch Eric new panda” he shows everything for you

Congrats, very nice watches. The new 126500 has another case than the 116500. It's a little bigger (maybe it's actually close to 40mm now) but also like 1mm thinner than before.

Do u think that 116500ln was better in terms of overall feel and elegance...????btw thankyou for this content .....

While I think the 126500 is more elegant overall, I do think that the 116500 is more elegant on wrist because of its case design. It's a small difference, but it is noticeable.

I suppose, like many, I would care more if the Daytona was actually obtainable from the AD at retail... and not a penny over.

Unfortunately, never gonna happen! 🤷‍♂️

The metal ring they added to avoid the rather easy breakage of the previous ceramic bezel is just fugly. Makes the case profile look much thicker.

7:58 is this in regards to the latest 4520v overseas ? Haven’t seen many people talk about the changes in the new reference may make a good video in the future !

I was thinking more the 5500V Chronograph actually. The 4520V is quite nice on the wrist, and really the chronograph isn't that bad, either, but I don't find it as comfortable as the Daytona (personally) due to the larger footprint. Agree would make for a great subject, though!

Yes, IMHO this is a very nice video with gorgeous pictures and lots of info. So I am not going to say this is a NOS-crap coz I have one of it from 2003. I also have the older Zenith (4030) Daytona, two El Primeros from 1970s, and a Rolex Ref 6238. But the lineage of it goes all the way back to those 1960s-70s models that used to say "Cosmograph" in their dials (like my 6238), and had to retire that word after its crushing failure in 1965 NASA Testing. So its a facelift of a design that still has Cal 4130 inside it, nothing else that could be commendable now like it was when it was introduced in 2001. Now, if it could have a DLC case, 1000m WR, with a METAS certified, 15000 Gauss Magnetic Resistance, 36000 VPH or higher movement, then we are talking, anything else short of these features is just lip service. Rolex as a Tech company is extremely conservative, and it showed that when it decrease the VPH of the Zenith El Primero from 36K to 28800 VPH coz Rolex could not maintain its oil in place due to the centrifugal forces. Better do a review of the Grand Seiko Tentagraph that has a 36000 VPH Hand Made Chrono movement with Date, 72-Hr power reserve with the Chrono Running, Vertical Clutch and Column Wheel, Ceramic Bezel, with Zaratsu Finish Titanium Case(!!!!). I am planning to get one of those, or the new Omega Speedmaster 3861 when I get the money, maybe selling one of the Rolex.......

good vid, but the Daytona has become an embarrassment for any watch-person. Its like G-wagons and Pitbulls. Sad to think that the real-deal REF6263 led to this gaudy hunk of consumption. At my races, I never see a modern daytona...until the fat men come down to the pits to look at our cars.

Thanks for the comment! I understand where you're coming from, but I feel that this is what makes it all the more important to reclaim its reputation through some proper usage by enthusiasts. But for that to happen, they need to be more broadly available.
