I actually think this logo isn't a "problem" at all. It's a corporate logo - it's not made for marketing or app. As far as I'm concerned the purpose is to connect all the Facebook subbrands - and in this case I think this clean and light logo is completely appropriate. And it's quite nicely done too ☺️😁. For example look at the kerning.. Pure love. Thanks for the vid!

People hate change. If I'm understanding correctly this new logo is like a more neutral umbrella company logo that will hold all of their companies. I don't know if the actual Facebook app logo is changing? I read about 3 articles and couldn't get an answer.

You are spot on. This logo won’t really be seen by anyone as it is for the main corporate entity. If it is shown it will be in small print and/or at the bottom of a page as I’ve shown in the example in the video.

I like it. Its much cleaner and “grown up.” However, it wont change my opinion on escaping FB. I jumped ship 2 years ago and its been very freeing not seeing negative frivolous bullsh*t every time I’m on.

Yeah, a logo change won't have any marked effect on culture or company behaviour. That has to come from elsewhere. I seriously limited my Facebook use a year ago and only use it for a select few groups. Do you not use any Facebook apps at all? Whatsapp or Instagram for example? It is getting hard to avoid apps that are now owned by the FACEBOOK company.

Pixels Ink Actually we stopped using all social media. It got to the point where we were ingesting so much negative stuff, it was impacting daily life and state of mind. Because we live in rural Australia, we cant get TV here either. Just satellite internet. So we only watch things that we’re interested in (like your channel for example). It was hard at first, but after a week, you realise how much time was wasted reading and looking at garbage you never would choose to look at if you had a choice. Long comment lol Apologies.

I agree, Col. Their new logo might look too simple to the untrained eye but I personally like it. It makes perfect sense to me. All caps since it’s the parent company and in a really class typeface adapting to the colours of it’s bouquet of sub-brands. Simplicity apparently isn’t much appreciated by the peanut gallery 🤓

Great insights on their new logo Col. I personally like it but whenever Facebook change anything people will complain lol. But overall your video explains well why it makes sense why they went with this change.

It isn't a new look really, as it is a brand new logo for the new FACEBOOK company corporate entity. The existing Facebook app logo that everyone knows won't be changing :)
