Naj the savior you should stop being a f-omg dick!!! Not everyone spends all their time on their phones! Some of us live life outside our mom’s basement. Dick!
It's like really is the perfect bike. Everything like this bike is nearly $8,000 now. The only exception that I found is the Euornal Spector is about $4,000. The Spectre doesn't have the same size brakes this deep has they went with the 180 m m brakes. So technically speaking there is really nothing else like this Jeep.
True to that, just ordered an ebike from china with the 1000w Bafang ultra, similar group set, back rack, fenders, integrated lights and dual batteries with combined 31.5 amp hours for $2700 shipped to my door. Cut out these middle men and save thousands lol!
Sadly looking at the components they put on this bike most “mountain bike” enthusiasts will pass on this. They should have put a little extra into the group set. I would consider this a mid to entry level E-Bike.
Yep! It’s not even close to being the “most capable ebike”. My Nireeka Prime e-bike has a 1000 watt motor with a lighter 60lb carbon fiber frame, 160nm of torque, 50 mile battery range, with a 38mph top speed. For only $3k.
When I started out with this whole ebike thing I fairly seriously looked at these so called 'hunting' ebikes. This Jeep bike is not the best of the lot. I soon realized I could get everything I wanted in a bike for a lot less than these 'hunting' guys were charging. With better components. Still less.
@@ryanjspinks Now that could be interesting. If I can charge it without paying for the electric that makes me more interested. And if that panel is portable that would be even better. I suspect that would interest some folks in the prepper crowd.
You would need like a folding panel that covers a couple hundred sq. Ft. And then bright sun for 8+ hours... To get a 30% charge. A couple days for a full charge. But we're getting close. Maybe a very flexible lightweight panel that spreads to 600sq. Ft. Could do a full charge in a day. I am just guessing on these numbers, but you get the picture
Nice bike! Thanks. I rode with a guy who had this bike and those very fat 4.8" tires were even better in gravel than my 4.25" wide tires. I have a 2 wheel drive (AWD) 2 battery (15 and 20 Ah) dual suspension E-CELLS Super Monarch Crown 95 pound (!) e-mountain bike. 30 mile rough trail range average, 60 mile paved road average.
Although E-Bikes have some limitations they are getting better all the time with better technology. My E- bike is three years old and is already obsolete technology compared to today's E-Bikes but I still love it and wouldn't trade it for a traditional pedal bike.
I'm a mountain biker and have been for over 20 years. During those years I've had many bikes and bike related products and because of that I see some issues with this eBike and one of them is the weight. Of all the bike racks I've had over the years I don't think I've ever come across one that can safely hold a bike that weighs over 50 pounds let alone this one that is over 80 pounds. The Alivio drive components are on the lower end of the spectrum and to stop a heavy bike loaded up with gear and the rider you'll need a lot more powerful brake than the ones currently equipped. The fork.... need more info.
For $3500 you could get a Biktrix Juggernaut Ultra FS instead. I doubt TFLnow will seriously try to find the best offroad ebike, but I would like to see some head-to-head comparisons among Watt Wagons, Optibike, Luna, and Hi Power Cycles.
An interesting concept that redefines the word, “bike”. What is amusing to me is that the stated top speed is 20 mph for types 1 and 2, with motor assist. When I was heavily into cycling, I routinely rode my Bridgestone RB2 bike at 15-20 mph, pedal power. Downhills, I often hit 30 mph plus. I’m glad to see TLC is exploring alternative ways of going off road, and leaving a much smaller footprint. Keep up the great work, and thank you.
@@rondimmerman8923 The 20mph limit is for the pedal assist motor. It will stop helping you. It will still allow you to go faster than that if you're going downhill or if you can put out massive power.
The 20 mph limit is only on the motor not the bike. You can pedal faster but the motor will stop assisting over 20 mph. Most likely that limit can be reprogrammed. The motor would most likely be able to sustain something in the mid 30's mph (on flat ground) if de-restricted.
Michael Sprinzeles Thank you, Michael. That’s really fast for a bike. But my goals were mainly ride for time and distance, and a good workout, not speed.
$5,899, 4-6 hrs to charge... You'd think it takes less time. Charge my phone, charge my headphones, charge my watch, charge my car, charge my bike... So basically, when power goes out and life stops for these super connected folks. Lol
Just bought my ebike. I looked over the specs on this bike and have pretty much come to the conclusion that this could be one one of the WORST valued ebike for the money. $5899?? Are you kidding me?? Remove the 5 and your more in line with the value of this bike. I honestly didn't believe that was the actual price at first. Hopefully they sell more than 4 of these haha. These are pretty much going to be purchased by those super into the Jeep brand, because they just have to have one. There are lots of suckers out there....
Talking about the different levels of pedal assist, with this bike weighing roughly 2.5 times what a mid level downhill mountain bike weighs, what level of pedal assist would it need to be at just to overcome that difference in weight? Obviously, with it set to zero, (no assist), it’s going to feel like an 80 pound bike. So what would you have to set it to to make it feel like a 30 pound bike, or require similar effort?
Because they don't come with instructions with pictures and this is just a good example of the dudes common sense. You gotta give him some cred though at least it's not upside down.
@Jaron Flanagin It was capitalism that made it possible for you to have your computer, internet and the ability to voice your opinion on RU-vid, a company owned and operated by people who embrace it, Big tech. I don't understand your comment?
OMG I got one and feel like a bird flying free up hill: Why? Because I also got that seat post thing that has springs , it was only around 40ish dollars and I do not feel a bump...Its the World Class Cadillac of MT bike , Mine is>
I’d be curious to try it out since fatbikes are the focus for my channel. I think ebikes have a place, as they are still kinda polarizing. More trails are starting to recognize classification system fortunately.
What do you mean with recognizing classifications? Just wanted to share, I'm in Europe and here everything that's either above 600W or faster than 15.5mph with assist is a moped. We have way too much regulation here. Every mountain bike trail I've been to has made no distinction between normal bike and e-bike.
@@imnotusingmyrealname4566 Here in the USA, some trail managers are finally opening up to the class 1 bikes (pedal assist only) are being allowed on some trail systems, higher power bikes (that may have an actual throttle) are still not allowed on most trails, which they should not be IMO. But pedal assist only helps the rider, it does not make the bike any faster.
@@imnotusingmyrealname4566 I’m no expert on ebikes, but this is a quick copy/paste how they are classified here in the US: Class 1: A bicycle equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling, and that ceases to provide assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 20 mph. Class 2: A bicycle equipped with a motor that may be used exclusively to propel the bicycle, and that is not capable of providing assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 20 mph. Class 3: A bicycle equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling, and that ceases to provide assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 28 mph, and is equipped with a speedometer
I’ll stick to trek for my mountain bikes haha. Also everyone complaining about the price; most electric mountain bikes are at least that expensive, if not more 🤣
@@htownsfinest87 THATS TRUE LIKE THE YAMEE 750S BUT THESE GUYS AT JEEP QUIETKAT HAS SUPER CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH SOME ONE YOU CAN TALK TO. PLUS THERE WEBSITE IS AWESOME!
Nice e-bike. Good specs. At $6k it should be pretty awesome. At 750 watts nominal and 160 Newton meters of torque I'm guessing a Baffang Ultra motor? Makes a perfect accessory for a Jeep because it will reliably get you home when the Jeep breaks down.
That's not that much for an ebike. My regular mountain bike was 5K, and there are some regular mountain bikes over 10K. The 6K is the going price for an entry to mid level ebike.
@@sladetheblade1684 None of that justifies the price, anybody who is not a professional paying that for a bicycle is crazy. It would be like me buying a formula 1 car because I like going to the track.
@@PhillipMicah very common response from those who aren't avid mountain bikers. People don't understand that you're getting professional quality components when you buy a $7K bike. It's the old adage price, quality, weight pick two. May not really apply to ebikes but it does to regular bikes.
Great point, #below me! You made it first, which puts you above me!!! Would take the UBCO over this Jeep any day... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0Tr7oIXpASs.html&feature=emb_logo
what about head angle and reach chain stay ....(joke) . I missed what the front fork travel was. I can understand the inverted front shock. i think that. I think a blew a seal on mine on a bike that weights about 1/3. here is the thing, nice idea. I like it. I see do not see it as mountain bike. more like and off road motor bike. As for the tires and brakes. They are most cost effective ones on the market. I know because that is what I use. I will say the brakes last, and modulation on my model is great.
Frame made in China? Check Brakes made in China? Check Mid mount motor made in China? Check Tires made in China? Check Jeep logo made in China? Check This guy is pocketing $5500 after he pays his Chinese parts supplier. Nothing screams ‘Murica like a $6000 bike worth $500!
yeah i'd like to see how it compares to full electric dirt bikes. on the other hand, i have a non-powered downhill mountain bike that costs about the same.
I'm calling you all out on the financing part. No bank or even factory financing in their right mind would let you add a 6000 dollar bike to the financing unless you had a ton of equity in the contract. Most people who want to finance anything these days bring little to zero down to the table when they purchase a vehicle. Can you imagine the nightmare of trying to collect for that bike when things go wrong. Unlivable statement by that dude. They're not wheels and tires and racks or steps and the dollars are as big as lift kits and you know most of the time nobody walks off with the lift kit when the bills can't be paid. It's all about the equity in the deal. Think about it. If you think you're financing that bike it's only because you already paid for it. Geeze, really.
Most of the e-bikes I see don't have enough braking power. This should have 4 pots for this size of tire and weight. Bion-X has a regen hub drive, but it's not very much.
Bion-X still exists? Cool system for a street commuter in a fairly flat city but direct drive hub motors suck off road. You can reprogram the Bion-X for more or less aggressive regen braking. The only problem is that the more aggressive you set it the more resistance the motor offers when not being powered.
I think you guys called someone out for reviewing a truck when they’re primarily a car Chanel on the zr2.... therefor I’ll call you guys out for going over a bike when you’re not a bike channel. As someone said this has junky parts on it, is heavy even for a e-bike. Love the Channel.... but maybe stick to automotive
I came to see how fast it will go because it’s advertised as unrestricted on the Jeep website. That is false advertising apparently. 🤦♂️ Jeep for almost 7k you could at least be honest about it’s spec’s.
Went to our local sportsman branch and saw this one. All I can say is it's way OVERPRICED. almost 7G's for the spec 48v and less than 15ah of battery.. I'd spend my money for SUR RON 72V rather than this Jeep branded made in china bike
Anybody that knows anything about electric bikes knows this is complete garbage. This is tops a $2,500 electric bike off the shelf. If you wanted to build this bike yourself ,could do it for a little more than a grand. This bike is for wealthy suckers that don't know any better.
The price ($5899, call it $6k out the door) is laughable. For a low to mid-level e-bike with a Jeep sticker on it. I bought my kids a Hummer mountain bike years ago. Not cheap either, and no-one every wanted to ride it because it was so heavy. Seems like dejavu.
