Found Sleep Token as I was returning from 11 months in afghanistan many years back and they carried me for a hot minute. This particular song was the first I'd heard and it helped me set my mind in a different place than where it had been stuck for so long. It seems real dramatic, but its the small shit that can make a massive impact

The part that resonates so heavily with me is right after the chorus starts, there is this synth/piano (whatever it is) that just feels like a warning of what happens if you get within a snakes striking range. That's the visualisation of what that feels like for me at least

I think what makes Sleep Token’s music go so well even though the styles are different is that they PERFECTLY define emotions without words. The vindictive and damn near sinister “I’ve got a taste for you” suddenly calms back to the serene and serendipitous “I’ve developed a taste for you” is a perfect representation of toxic mood swings.

Great reaction, I think the contrast between Gods and Sugar is really important. A lot of the songs on this album kinda have a back and forth feel, like the end of Higher going into Take Aim also. I really think this album represents his internal conflicted feelings about his relationship with Sleep.

So I've been binge watching everything I find that's Sleep Token related. And I have noticed that the most recently posted stuff I can find on them isn't that recent. More like 5 and 6 months old. But no new videos or songs that I can find, anyways. So did something happen to keep them from being able to perform? If you don't mind me asking. 😁✌️

@@michellemcmahon3344 heyyy 🙋‍♀️ you can find the full Wembley show on YT. It's fan made but pretty decent. Yeah Vessel was sick during the performance and couldn't sing certain songs so us fans helped him out!! He was exhausted, it had been a gruelling tour, nervous and emotional, with it being the UK, home turf an all...but he still managed to finish the set. Just go watch & enjoy. As far as videos etc, ST have only done a handful. Their more recent stuff are visualizers. They have never released an "official" live version. They do not do meet n greets or TV interviews ( Vessel did 1 with Metal Hammer magazine in 2017 & their drummer, ii recently did one with Drumeo) Enjoy going down the rabbit hole!! 👍 WORSHIP

Something Sleep Token made me realize is how much I love a chorus that builds on itself after every repeat. Now some songs I used to love don’t hit as hard because the chorus has the same energy throughout the entire song. Whether they add instruments, change the tempo, or introduce the bridge/buildup, they always seem to make the final parts of their songs a true climactic point.

This song is one of the few where sleep is actually singing to him. The albums all have a bit of call and response. Vessel always begs her to “bite” him and this is her describing the “taste” she’s acknowledging that she does like feeding off of him and speaks of their relationship as a game and she won’t give in to him the way he wants her to. Just a personal opinion, that’s what I hear. Badass song either way!!!
