I have a Channel Islands mid twin copy with a more pin tail-ish tail than the original. My home’s got a lot of hollow reef breaks. U reckon I get the BMT? CI recommends Amk for the Ci mid so I don’t know

Short Answer Yes. Long Answer They're designed to provide drive and hold, as well as pivot and release. It's suitable for a variety of wave , from hollow to open face waves for carving. It's swept back, long leading edge make it feel secure when laying into a longer turn or driving, So yes it could be a good choice for hollow waves as well as open face waves. - David

Thanks for your review :) I'm tossing up between the BMT, AMK or Power Twins for my 7'0" Firewire Sunday; I've been surfing it with the retro keels but recently lost a fin and looking to replace with something different. I love the speed of the retro keels but want somethibg that will hold in bigger waves. What would you recommend? Cheers! ✌️

Sean this is David, I guess it would depend on a few things. How much you weight. Also are the bigger waves more of a open face with a gradual slope or more waves that hollow.

@@hawaiiansouthshore Hey David, I'm 230lb and typically surf slopey beach breaks but kinda hoping for something which will go well in larger, steeper waves too.

@@seanhamilton331 I would say the BMT would be good for you weight Also just as a suggestions for days that's pumping and if the board seem like it's maxing out try adding in a small 2.5" or 3" longboard center fin box. This will stabilize the board and allow you to go off the bottom plus you'll be able to surf it a little more top to bottom with out sliding out too. Here is a l.ink to a small fin box If you decided to use this I would place the fins towards the tail. The Center fin box on this board is pretty close to the center , so having it a little behind the side fins would be better. @@hawaiiansouthshore @Hawaiian South Shore Surf Boutique Thanks heaps, David. Really appreciate your detailed response. I was very much leaning towards the BMT's so will bite the bullet and pick some up! Yeah I ran a 3" stabiliser in the centre box with the retro keels and it felt great! Thanks again for your thoughtful response. ✌️😇

have you ridden these fins in smaller surf? waist high? I see in a few reviews talking about using this in bigger waves, but what about everyday southern California waves
@hss320
@hss320 9 месяцев назад
I've ridden this in chest high waves with my JS Big Baron (pin tail). It has a lot of drive and hold thru turn. On smaller waist hight days, I used the Power Twins, which I liked better on the Big Baron. I have not tried it on any other board. - David

Hi! Would this fin work good on a 6’0 CC Lane Splitter? I weight around 200lbs. 🙏🏼
@hawaiiansouthshore
@hawaiiansouthshore 11 месяцев назад
To be honest Im not 100% sure. Im 180 and I've used it on the JS Big Baron and i like it. The fins are not as tight as I thought they would be just enough drive and hold thru turns but it doesn't seem to stick for me. I let a friend use the board he's only 160 and he commented the fins look huge but surfing it the fins didnt stick or felt too tight. He was able to turn the board with our a lot of effort. Might be the board too.... So just based off that I would say yes, I think ti will work for you and you'll definitely be able to move the board, I dont think It will not slide out. The fins are really big compared to FCS Power Twins or Future EN's. If you give the fins a go let me know I want to know know. How do you like your board? We are going to be working with Chris and we have some Lane Splitters coming in but in Swallow Tail. He mentioned this will be an exclusive deal for us. Im excited to try to the board. Plus I love swallow tails!!! - David

Great review! How does it compare to Power Twin? Thinking these would go good in RNF96

Hey guys do you think these would do well in the CC fish? I’m riding it now with the AMK, wanting to do a lil tighter turns, so was thinking about these.
@hawaiiansouthshore
@hawaiiansouthshore 7 месяцев назад
Im assuming your talking about the Chris Christianson fish? I've never talked anybody that used this fin on a retro board. A lot of people use them on more pintails, but it could work if you're looking for more drive. But I think maybe the Power Twins would be better. , If you have a friend that has the power twins, it might work well with that that's my favorite fin. - David

Yes sorry Christenson fish 😅 thanks for your feedback much appreciated! Alright so the futures equivalent would be T2 yeah? Or would you recommend another hybrid keel like fin?
@hawaiiansouthshore
@hawaiiansouthshore 7 месяцев назад
@@ZeeeMann No worries, I think the Power twins sit between the T2 and EN. If you like that extra drive and hold the EN's.

Do the EN has more drive and hold than the BMT?
