Hello Captain. From France, I have just bought this beautiful Bell 206 and thanks to your advice I will be less afraid to fly it. Thank you again for your work and all the hours putting together your videos....It's always a real pleasure to see all the camera angles and your clear and easy to understand explanations, even in France.
Well done Captain! (and Jedi Steve!); what a superb looking Copter!; cant believe how things have changed for this style of hobby; GPS, RTH, Altitude hold; just amazing!; many thanks for sharing.....................
I love this chopper. Thanks for letting everyone know about Canada's own bell helicopters this rc looks very cool and to scale. I need one but then again i need almost everything you review.😅😂
This seems to be exactly what I've been looking for: a great looking scale model of a real heli which I could hone my skills with at a slightly higher, safer altitude and if I end up in a situation I don't feel confident in I can always switch to drone mode or even call it to come back home by itself. Perfect!
I like that these helicopters are encouraging more people to try flying helis. Before these helis came on the market many pilots have been giving up flying helis because it's so difficult to fly Collective Pitch helis without any help than self level. I met many plane pilots who frustrated gave up trying to fly helis after countless crashes. So I really think it's better to make it easier. If somebody really wants he can learn step by step to fly without GPS, altidude hold and all these helps... But at least he gor infected by he Heli virus!! Always something good!!
Correct. The reason people fly GPS Camera drones like DJI Mavics is because they are simple to fly due to an onboard sensors/gps. Helicopters now adopt a similar technology.
Thank you so much for this video. It has given me a lot of confidence. The Bell 206 Jet Ranger has been my favourite helicopter for years. Having done no rc flying at all, I've always fancied flying an rc helicopter. I'm now 61 and have purchased this Fly Wing Bell Jet Ranger. Today, I took it for it's maiden flight at the local cricket ground. Nervous, yes, but I was able to fly this fantastic helicopter as if I'd been flying for years! I absolutely love it. This new generation of easy to fly helicopters has enabled a lot more enthusiasts, like me, to enjoy this hobby. 🙂
@@andrewingry2986 I'm in Canada and my customs duties were just less than $50 Canadian. If you buy from CHINA they always show the value of item purchased as being super low so that not much customs/duties is due.
@@andrewingry2986 I purchased mine new from an ebay shop, it was shipped to the UK from China. From what I saw, when shopping for it, all the shops are China based. The postage was free, I had no extra customs charge. I paid £522.99 for the RTF version and that was all.
HELLO DEAR CAPTAIN I AM AN IRANIAN FAN OF YOUR RU-vid PAGE AND LOVE QUADCOPTER. Very expensive quadcopter in my country and a few days ago unfortunately my MavicMini got hacked and left. That's what the government does. I'm so heartbroken. You are lucky to live in a good country. Happy and good luck
@@alifazeli8355 it’s not a quadcopter and america like Britain and Europe Australia’s etc are galloping street toward China so it won’t be long. A good country ? It used to be.
Thanks! I’d love to get paid. It’s a crap shoot. Just imagine if I actually received an hour wage for travel, filming, editing and expenses. I’d make tons of vids then (of course I’d need some staff).
Brilliant Helicopter and review Steve.... and lets not forget Jedi Steve. Well, loved this from start to finish, rather than your quick Vertical videos you did recently... Keep to these buddy.
Glad you enjoyed it. Also, the Vertical vids are called RU-vid SHORTS and are 30 to 60s long. They are designed for people on the go flicking through vids (quick entertainment). My FULL LENGTH review vids are every week on MON, WED & FRI.
Great review….. so was thinking of getting the YXZNRC F09-S 2.4Ghz 6 Axis Gyro Brushless coast guard uh60 rescue helicopter after watching your review of that but now I’m stuck between that and this lol
Captain oh my captain how are you doing today You are my best friend we share the same hobby hope you’re feeling good hope you’re Hopefully I’ll meet you and we’ll go out for a flight😂❤🎉😮
I'm referring to the inputs underneath the radio transmitter, it looks like a USB and a 4-pin DIN. Could there be one to charge the radio transmitter batteries?
🙌 Successful maiden today, thanks for this review! Performed exactly as depicted on your vid. Very impressed with the quality, fit and finish. The main blades were within .02 grams of each other, and the tail rotor was perfectly balanced. Flew great in 10 mph winds. Question - wondering if you used the same TX for the 206 and the UH-1? Would save a few $$ if I could get the UH-1 airframe only later on… Thanks again. 👏
It all depends on if you are a military fan or not. If you love military aircraft then the HUEY looks great, but if you like Civil aviation then the BELL looks great.
@@Dondedjiif someone mentions the ESC is bad it should be a red flag that you are listening to an idiot that has never owned this helicopter. Trust me when I say there are plenty of idiots out there who love nothing better than to say stupid things about items they don’t own.
Just watched this and the video on the f09-s coastguard heli. Thinking about getting one. Which one would you suggest? I have to admit i love the size of the 206. Also i have the dji integra goggles, they probably wont work with the f09-s camera right?
so the low battery return is switch is off . how do you know 20mins has gone by?I use a food timer set for 15mins . when the battery is at 15mins the food timer alarm goes off.do you use a watch?
Bell helicopters are primarily manufactured in the United States. The company's main production facility is located in Amarillo, Texas. They also have other facilities involved in various aspects of helicopter production and support across the United States.
Love your videos Captain Drone! Any suggestions on how do remedy the wonderfully useless venting of the cockpit? I have drilled a grid of 1/4" holes in the see-through lower windows on the lower fuse. These are the windows just below the nose of the helicopter. The ridge vents near the top of the canopy were only half of the solution. Cheers!
the gps is mounted on the h-1 . I am not getting a signal .I bought a upgrade hope that fixes the gps signal.do you have any problems with signal . please advise. thanks. steve
You need to be outdoors (obviously). The status light needs to go solid green. If it is red then you need to visit the flywing website & watch the video on how to do a compass calibration.
I'm hoping to get into RC aircraft. I have plenty of experience with drones and have the licenses to fly any RC aircraft below 20KG. I dont care about the budget. What do you recommend?
Steve, I understand that when flying in GPS mode, it flys like a drone (stick mode 2). When flying manually, are you still in stick mode 2 (just without satellites)? Thanks, Jedf
I have just 3d printed a as355 fuse for the Fw450. If anyone wants to 3d a fuselage for this, It is 470 size not 450. Im just in the prosses of painting the fuse once complete maiden will be on my channel
Excellent heli, great flying, and well done on the video capture and posting! How well did the gloves perform in the -3C weather? What brand/make are they? I'm looking to do some photography in similar temps and those gloves look like they may work.
Hi Captain, Where did you get your flashing light you put on the bottom? I purchased the helicopter and would like to get one......great job on your videos and keep posting !!! Dean
Hey Steve, pulled the trigger on the 206. My only complaint is i get a ton of ground resonance on start up and shutdown on hard surface. Blades are not too loose but can be folded with some resistance per instructions. Any ideas?
In Canada you come under Transport Canada Regulations when flying anything that is remotely piloted and 250 grams and higher. You need to know what the rules are for flying and you’ll learn them when you study for your online multiple choice exam to get your basic RPAS certification.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thank you for your fast response. I have one so maybe this weekend I will try it. I purchased it from RC Going and it was just like you said very well packaged.
Hi captain Drone, nice helicopter review, it's really a nice helicopter, something I would like to know, hats 👒 off to Steve flying in manual mode, question? If you are flying it on manual mode and you start to experience some unstable flight, can I switch it to GPS mode in flight to gain full control and avoid it from crashing?
Question are they reliable because I have two smaller brand new and all what they do is goin round and round no flying at all I have try everything nothing works Let me know please thnks
I’m not the person to ask because I’m experienced in the RC hobby which means I rarely have issues with any product. People that have issues are always new and due to that they tend to cause their own issues. So to answer your question… to me and my friends these are very reliable.
