It's worth noting that genex setups also walk directly into nibiru 99% of the time because just getting the link 1 into play eats up 2 summons Edit: doing so also immediately ends their turn because even if they didn't burn their actual normal somehow you can only summon a single copy of the link 1 per turn
Shit yeah, getting one 6* synchro out with this thing is five summons. Normal original Undyne Link for repair, fetch back Undyne Repair normals Undyne, dump a water, search Controller Repair normals Controller Synchro for 6, get Nibiru'd
Honestly, I think that's why I love the Genex support. Its not going to warp the meta, it's not going to revive the archetype from the dead. What it does do is give the deck something cool to do, Look at all the synchro's! Look at all the Stratos's!
Dark Guardian's shuffle-back self-summon effect isn't completely useless, it can summon itself back from GY. Dark Element only makes it from hand, deck or extra
I don't think the new Ghoti cards "fix" the archetype necessarily (1 or 2 more good Fish Synchros would do a lot), but they are really strong. In tandem with the White support also in PHNI, the Ghoti main deck is looking really solid. Regarding the apparent artwork shift, I don't mind it at all; it sort of reflects the fact that the deeper you go into the ocean, the weirder the fish look. Not sure if it was intentional, but that's my headcanon.

I don't think a ROTA is gonna happen; Deepest Depths is as good as I think it's going to get, and it's OK in all consideration; we just need a way to get to it. A Gravekeeper's Commandant-like card would be really nice. As for a good normal summon, Lifeless Leaffish is great, although I guess it wouldn't hurt to have another solid NS.
Sadly, they do nothing about "fixing" the archtype save adding some non-tuner followup after going Deep Beyond (Pscii and Kiif can come back) Otherwise, the archtype still has no one-card combos (though I wish this were the case for all of Yu-Gi-Oh, honestly) and remains *ridiculously* dependent on Arionpos Pscii is still sweet in that he can banish Arionpos' tuna (Arionpos banish Pscii; Pscii special summons itself) and then search another tuna from the deck to banish, but without other cards he's just a brick If he were lvl 4, though...
Dumb question but how often do TCG exclusives get further support after their "join OCG" wave? About the artwork, I wouldn't mind if only one of them was skeletal (would be their peculiar trait), but the fact that they both are makes them look like outcasts to me, as if they don't belong to the same school as the other Ghoti monsters. Unless they're supposed to be like different sexes of the same species where one is much bigger than the other, which happens with anglerfish iirc.
For the how questions: Generic special summon, spell removal your own monster, activate Passage, Normal summon the Time Lord, swing twice with one, immediately lose the following turn because you used a 4 card combo to at best deal 6k damage and now have 0 resources
Lamo I also just realized it's a quick play that you can activate for a second time during your first battle phase, which means you get ANOTHER additional battle phase

The Ghoti cards aren't that ""strong""* * because the standard for "strong" is so fucked in modern Yu-Gi-Oh No one card combos and still heavily reliant on Arionpos But damn if they ain't fun, and if Kiif isn't a fascinating maindeck interrupt

Probably won't be a Memento, the Memento monsters are mostly ones that didn't have lore connecting them to other monsters, Queen of Autumn Leaves has Green Phantom King.
My concern with Repair Genex Controller isn't the card as is...but what could possibly exist in the future. Sure, it's a choke point that dies to hand traps and interaction, but what happens if there ends up eventually being an easy way to protect it in the future? Even something as simple as immunity to monster effects would make it downright horrifying.
The problem I have with these new Ghotis as someone who already plays them is that, well, they don't seem to do anything the existing deck doesn't already do. Banish -> Resummon -> Synchro. That's already the mechanic, and we have plenty enough to do that for the whole duel. Right now Ghoti needs defense against the dark arts (the meta), not more internal consistency.
it's time to mill the passage of star and frost in tear fusion summon to add it and then pop kaleidoheart with perlereino for 2 combats. surely that combo isn't inconsistent and doesn't fix any problems you could encounter in a game

I think the issue the subs is that you have what, 3 or 4 youtube channels that are all formated and edited in the same way. i am subbed to the main Channel but i was getting recommendations from all channels and up until now i thought it was all from one place. There is MBT clips, MBT & Friends, MBT Yu-Gi-Oh! , MBTYGO_ProGrussys of course most people will not sub to all of those when there is minimal difference and the feed comes in regardless.
Just use anything that sends cards from the extra deck like Dogmatika Punishment or Nadir Servant to send a Gate Guardians Combined to the graveyard to allow the use of Dark Element.

When I first saw Fishlamp, I thought all the Ghoti problems were literally solved. Then I read it again. Fishlamp has so many little details that make it unplayable in Ghoti strategies. I initially thought it summoned tokens on Synchro Summon, but it doesn’t. You need to use it in a Synchro Summon just to get 2 useless FIRE tokens that lock you into Extra-Deck Fishes. This whole card actively works against you using great extenders like Marincess Anemone and Abyss Shark, and limits your endboard options. The cherry on top is that it’s a Tuner, making it even more difficult to use for a Synchro Summon. Using it to summon Arionpos is really hard, since you would need another lvl 2 non-Tuner. And the only other thing you can really use it for is Dragite, which doesn’t extend your plays. It becomes even more useless on your opponent’s turn, since you can only use it for summoning Deep Beyond, which was not an issue for Ghoti. I hope Ghoti gets an in-archetype lvl 4 Fish Synchro to make up for this affront to god

That Genex link is one of the best cards printed in ages only kept fair by being inGenex. But, as weird as this is to say, Genex might be a viable rogue deck now.
If I'm reading the card right for the Genex link, it says only synchro summon using a Genex tuner, now I'm not sure if they have restrictions where they can only be used for genex synchro monsters on the tuners, but that would in theory unless I'm wrong about limitation on the tuners. You'd be able to synchro anything with a Genex tuner that's generic

I think what we can all agree on is that Konami wants the Synchro Archetypes to be able to blow up and i mean BLOW TF UP Buuuuuut they also make that completely and entirely reliant on a single card. And ya know what, Synchron's, Resonator, Genex. I'm okay with that, they're fun, combo's are fun and most of all, Junk Speeder will never end up banned. That last card seems like Shenanigan's waiting to happen lol Like, there's plenty of ways to blow up your own stuff with a Spell Card, I'm pretty sure there's a few Dragon sentric cards that can do it, there's no doubt that Unchained can(I think) and funnily enough, Scrap, another old synchro archetype can do it. Ntm, LITTERALLY EVERY PENDULUM ARCHETYPE IN THE GAME. So I actually see that card being pretty problematic eventually, maybe not now, but, someday.
OR EXTRA That new Visas card is kinda butts, but I can see some madmen using it in conjunction with things like Dark Hole or Afterburners just to abuse the crap out of the extra battle phase to spam effects or OTK. I would not look forward to what kind of dumb crap something like Lyrilusc could pull with an extra battle phase with all their direct attacks and damage reflection.
It's funny because I've extensively tested Gate Guardian against the current and upcoming Meta, and it's absolutely slapping them and MBT was just like "nope I can tell this deck sucks". 🤣
