This is a review of the new HDZero Eco VTX and Camera as well as the Happymodel BNF that will debut the new combo. This is the first HDZero FPV system that does not use a mipi cable to connect the camera to the VTX. This allows the Eco system to save both weight and cost which makes it ideal for Tiny Whoops.
When I first recieved this prototype whoop the cam was locked at 16:9 and had a very narrow vertical FOV that was not suitable for whoops IMO. I expressed this concern to Carl and he got Runcam to use a different housing and lens that is much more in line with what most whoop pilots prefer. I am so excitied for the future of HDZero and whoops because they are constantly innovating while still looking to the community for guidance on what is needed most. Look for more exciting innovations from HDZero in the near future!
