Hello. Thanks for the vid. I want to trail and crawl, never comp. Should I go Evo Pro or 2024? Worried about the single speed transmission on the 2024 not having enough range. Any advice appreciated!
The driveshaft on mine snapped and I want to replace it but I’m not sure with what…😔😔Do you have any idea what metal drive shafts might be compatible with this truck?
Oh yes the battery box, feel stupid but just spent 10 minutes trying to close this without squeezing and damaging wires. Why did they not maket that just slightly bigger. Will 3D print something, unfortunately my CAD skills are not good enough to recreate the look of that original box.
Save yourself some money & just get the new CR18P v2 plastic rear reverse rotation axle from the 2024 T-Hunter like in this video. It is a direct replacement for a FX118 Fury Wagon, FX118 Katana, CR18P Evo Pro, & older CR18P Evo models that uses the 2-speed transmission that has the reverse rotation output shaft on the transmission.
They don't weigh that much, and it keeps the cost down. This is also a trail rig, so it won't rust. The Traxxas TRX4M doesn't either. The only ones I know that do are the Furitek Cayman and Redcat Ascent 18. Those are specifically listed as crawlers and not trail rigs.
Just received mine and very disappointed, the transition from a very slow crawl to much higher speed is very abrupt. None of my other furitek items does this. Useless for crawling. And i really wanted to use that ready to run, i do mods on my SCX24s, now if i have to buy a new motor and esc for that the price is over 300. Not what i had planned. Not even sure what will fit this.
@@hyperc5249 Yep, perfect, not running hot and smooth transition. I wonder what they thought selling it with that lizard light. Also why there are several videos out showing it running very smooth, i ordered it based on that.
i was disappointed by previous versions; weak motor, poor gearing ratio and lots of slop, where the battery goes, and the body was impossible to remove. so, the body hinge was added (awesome), torque twist being addressed (awesome), new motor/esc (great). All the other stuff is nice, but not necessary. Didn't see drag break and how much slop... furitek and hp rigs have historically had the worst slop and not great drag break; like one rig (i think its the fury wagon) taking 8+ turns of motor before wheels move is terrible. so now furitek is doing what ascent did with the fusion; a 'lite' version of their esc and that's going backwards in the hobby in the we should always be getting brushless... but then again, this is an RTR so lots to replace and this isn't a value for your $; far more cons than discussed in this video.
The CR18P platform may have slop in the drive train but the CR18P platform performance is far above the compition & performance is what actually counts.
@@DTW-bx2vy please define what u mean by competition. I'd love to debate. Comparing it to say the ascent18 or an fms18/24 HP actually didn't fix their torque twist as it just flipped to the passenger side. The other two don't have that problem. The slop is the worst of its competitors. The electronics are available to all its competitors which are cheaper in price. The gear ratios are diff and the link system is design for better composure and balance between sidehill ascend and descend. The mounting and ease of changing electronics location is also better on its competitors. These new chassis also look pinched in the front and if so that Will make it hard for aftermarket shocks and servos. Why do I complain? Because I love the look of the t hunter and am looking forward to the day it gets done right.
T Hunter is very cool but a bad construction. I have the EVO Version and tried everthing to make it capable. Forget it, too top heavy. Buy an EVO Pro. Better basis to improve imo
This one comes with the EVO chassis, shock, and transmission, and it's brushless. The EVO doesn't come with the counter rotation rear axle, and this does. Did you watch the video? You are comparing your old T-Hunter to the EVO. Not the new 2024. The T-Hunter is also a trail rig, and the EVO is a comp crawler. So it's not even apples to apples.
@il_DonGelato I hear you. The chassis is not the same, tho. It's an aluminum CNC chassis with a 5 degree angled skid and multiple shock mounting locations. Why a white turn table? Lighting?
