Planning to buy one, and create a trailer to it. Remove the backup tire from the rear and make a trailer joint there, and then get the trailer to be for a some extra weight for logging or stone transportation.

Trail Hunter/Cr18p RockVan Bulders kit Axles are ideal for a TexomaRC Slayer chassis. Ultimate performace for micro crawlers. 3d printed PETG which is super slippery on the rocks and with just brass wheel rings in the front its at 430g, 160mm wheelbase with the portals and the same super smooth brushed ESC as FCX24. Highly reccomend the Full PRO kit from TexomaRC if you like performance, comes with everything but electronics and axles

I purchased the RCAWD - CR18P Front Aluminum Knuckles & Brass Portal Covers being I broke the left plastic steering knuckle. I installed the aluminum knuckles but left the brass portal covers off being they added far too much weight to my FX118 Fury Wagon. I like all my small scale comp crawler rigs to be light as it possibly can be. The more weight added the harder it is for rigs to pull the extra weight up inclines & make climbing performance actually decrease in my personal experiences.

i want to do a mullet build with my t hunter to hopefully make it a great hill climber, and ive watched another video about a mullet build and the differential gear in the portal was flipped to make it spin the correct direction and i believe a fcx 18 portal was used in the rear wirh trx4m in front, is there another 18th scale portal that can be done with? i plan on using a trx4m straight axle in front for ease of overdrive installation

@gibsonlife573
@gibsonlife573 Год назад
I love the axle housings but I also have their axle housings for the fmsfcx-24 Power Wagon and let me say this it is not the greatest because where they put the screw through to hold your rear portal box on and you don't really crank down on that they'll come off I mean your hole axle Tire can come off but other then that there awsome i put my on axles in them have heard alot of bad about there axles shafts breaking any body else
@CapeCrawlers
@CapeCrawlers Год назад
I found I had to use a different set of hardware on the FCX24 parts. The portal boxes would not seal because the bolts were too long. Once I got that sorted out it was good. My SCX24 portals have been solid.

I'd pick the Rock Van over this. On the van you also bought the motor with gear reduction if I remember right and that slow crawled really well. Hi adam, would you recommend me to buy this or a trx4m? I habe around 200 bucks to spend on the car and upgrades.
@CapeCrawlers
@CapeCrawlers 6 месяцев назад
That’s a tough question. If you prefer a more scale look, the trx4m is going to give you that with those licensed bodies. Plus you’ll have more upgrades available. But the t-hunter is a great performer and the aftermarket is starting to warm up to this platform. It really comes down to what you like better. Can’t go wrong with either!

630 grams for a 1/18 crawler ! 😳 A RC anvil.😊 I'd bet this wouldn't climb nothing taller than a chocolate bar, but yours still runs great. Maybe you're right. Funny : i upgraded my CR-18T the opposite way. I took off the roll cage & cosmetic accessories to clear and lighten the rear. Now, i can see the chassis and the axle (love this stock nude look). And i put brass rings on the front wheels. It climbs like a chamois, but hates descents...🙄

Did the same. Wheelbase with stripped rear this thing is a monster. We made it as a dually to tow but this thing crawled with our real rigs. Bumper is the biggest obstacle but it’s there for a reason and easy to navigate the rocks enough.

@JUSTHAVEFUNRC
@JUSTHAVEFUNRC Год назад
RCAWD did this with the fms scale trucks. IMO it’s lazy engineering to just make a skidplate and use the same scx24 transmission. The engineers/designers at hobbyplus made the effort to keep a compact and low slung transmission. And with great success.
@CapeCrawlers
@CapeCrawlers Год назад
I was bummed out when I realized it was just repurposed SCX parts. I'm happy with the other upgrades though.
@stunod-RC
@stunod-RC Год назад
IMO, you dodged a bullet by not mounting that motor/gearbox.. RCAWD uses the SCX gearbox which is about 12:1 reduction. The CR18P has a 51:1 gearbox!! That’s why it crawls so good. Overall ratio is 157:1, that’s slower than the FMS low gear.. most Ring and pinions are about 3:1, while the SCX worm is 8:1 stock, which offsets the lack of gearbox reduction. SCX gearbox with CR18P axles is like putting it in 5th gear and trying to crawl. Axel (Axle?), your son, will love it for jumping and trailing.
@CapeCrawlers
@CapeCrawlers Год назад
That’s great info! I’m happy with the power train as it is. Although I know hobby plus is releasing a new version of this soon that will have a bigger motor and two speed gearbox…
