I live in Phuket and have just ordered a Pcx 160cc standard in Mysterious Blue colour. Arrives in a few weeks. Excited to upgrade from the click I have now.
Big upgrade from the Click. Now you get a big boy bike. Puy has a Click that has 14k on it so I drive it occasionally. It's a different experience. Always thought the Click with the 160 was a cool bike. Have fun!
Great video. I’ve got a PCX but I’ve been looking at the newer models with the LED lights and New display. So I appreciate you taking the time to show us the difference. Once you get a PCX you won’t want anything else. It’s tough to beat a Honda.
Really good review pointing out the upgrades etc. With our daily 10 km trip to school on our click with the 3 of us on its very bumpy as we are all getting heavier and the click is at its limit, faultless performance for years, but defiantly time to order the pcx pearl white to March our Rocco. Hope to see you around.
Great review Pete...Also, the best English review which deserves a sub. I have a Suzuki Address 110. Can get these in Australia, but many dealers still offloading the previous model. This sounds so much better. Great tip on the valve servicing. Honda are notorious for they big overpay in service fees. I usually service my Suzuki. Cheers
Service is incredibly cheap here in Thailand. I don't do anything. An oil change with new airfilter costs $15. I service my bicycles. Which I wish I had someone to do since I'm still learning. Hey goodlucj with the Suzuki. Some Suzujis here. More motorcycles than scooters. Honda owns Thailand.
Hi From Ireland. I am a PCX , Driver I look in on your web Love the page.We only have 125 cc We have a thing called C.B.T. You may not drive any thing over 125.until you get your 600cc big test Pain, Down under. Love your page, Keep it coming, Thanks.
It was baffling to me why they were still making a 125 PCX. Now, I know. We have that 125cc in our Honda Click and it's quick but the PCX is a bigger heavier bike.
@@peteandpuy Just placed an order for the ABS model in grey, which is more of a blue grey. Beautiful color. Should get it within a month. I'm in Chiang Mai.
HI Pete and Puy, I have moved to Thailand from Australia, I am based for now in Pattaya. I have ordered the Honda PCX in the sport model yesterday. The prices have gone up a lot, I would say due to being a very popular bike. Most dealers have back orders of 3 months, but I was lucky and found a dealer who could get one in with a 3 week wait. I loved the review you both made. I have a question? Where did Puy buy the seat cover? I think it is a must have with the hot sun. Anyway, thanks for the review.
Hi Pete and Puy, well after 4 weeks my PCX sport did not show. I was disappointed but managed to find a flat red 2022 PCX the same as you have. I have not ridden a bike for 10 years and trying to ride this beast I am finding difficult. Most of my bikes I have owned over the years were much easier to ride. This is my first scooter and I am finding it hard ride as the dash does not move with steering and I can not see the front wheel and not to mention where my legs sit. Even while learning to ride my feet are way back like I have them on the pegs. Then we have the panic stop going for the left clutch lever and foot brake. lol It is slowly coming together and I am enjoying the bike, just need to more practice. When the sport version did not show, I almost purchased the Honda Forza 350, that would have been a bad move. I have looked on Lazada for the mesh seat cover and most come from overseas and there are seat covers all over the site. If you have some spare time do you think you could give a link to the one you and Puy purchased. I don't want to grab the wrong one, more so if it has to come from overseas. Thank you both.
@@anthonyquin57 The Sport model is exactly the same isn't it? I liked the look but that's all it is...looks. Mesh covers are all the same. The ones your talking about on Lazada are perfect. It's a 300baht item. They last forever. I love the looks of the ADV 350. I think it's too big but it looks great.
The Hybrid doesn't save gas. It didn't for me, anyway. There is a kick for the first three seconds when accelerating but the new PCX offers additional horsepower now. Storage space is smaller because batteries take up space. I think the Hybrid is a failure. There isn't any real payoff for the additional expense, complexity, and storage penalty. I went with just the ABS standard version. I think it's the right choice.
Catchy song man. I could dance to it as they said on American Band Stand with Dick Clark. I just sold my 2018 PCX 150 to a friend and I’m waiting and waiting for my 2022 Honda ADV 150 to arrive in California. After watching your video I’m thinking maybe I should have waited for the PCX 160. I need to go off-roading some and the PCX a street bike and the best Small cc bikes I ever ridden. I’m missing it a lot.
I think the ADV160 is out here in Thailand now. It wasn't out six months ago when I bought this or I may have considered it. The PCX is perfect for my little beach town but I don't know about American roads. It can barely get to 65MPH. It is fun.
You can search Lazada for Mesh seat cover for PCX. Also look for a bike accessories store in Samui, larger stores will have them. I like having the store put it on because it can be a bit tricky to get it right. First thing I buy for a new bike. Bum is much dryer and it isn't a problem sitting on a hot seat. I just remembered, a large SuperCheap may have it.
The PCX was originally produced with a 125cc. I remember it got a lowered cost and insurance class as the 125. I don't ever remember seeing one here in Thailand. Every model now comes with a 160cc including the smaller Click.
I have not. It's basically the same bike so I doubt there would be much difference. The ADV wasn't out yet when I bought the PCX or I would have considered it. I like the way it looks.
I wish the US model had a rear disc brake. We also don’t get the hybrid model or the engine stop/start function or the smart key unless maybe with the ABS model. I haven’t seen them in person to check. Dealerships hardly had any 2021 PCX last year but seem to all have the 2022 in stock here in SoCal. White both years. I’m considering buying one due to high gas prices and hardly riding my Rebel 1100. I also kind of miss having a scooter.
You also get the high price in the good ole USA. With the currency exchange rate very favorable here in Thailand now the PCX is $1000 more there. Good luck.
I owned an Aerox 155 a few years ago. The lack of legroom bothered me. Sit on one and you'll see. It's a smaller bike. The PCX is a bigger better bike. More sophisticated, more comfortable than the Aerox. The NMax is more comparable to the PCX but the PCX is better than that scooter as well. If you look back at my vids, I've compared the PCX and the NMax in a couple of videos.
Just found your Channel? I'm so happy because I'm going to buy that bike when I come back to Thailand soon? Was that video filmed in phuket? I have not been there yet? But I've been living in Island 50% off and on the last 7 years since I retired How much will it cost? Thank you
Hey Mike in Poland - The gas mileage between the two models...is the same! The acceleration, the first three seconds anyway, is there for the for the e:hev. It's fun, like a turbocharger kicks in. The gas mileage could be the way I drove it. I just drove it around town, accelerating to get the electric motor to kick in all the time. Honda has said the MPG to be 10% better but I didn't see it. The new PCX 160 with ABS is the way to go. More storage space and ABS trumps 3 seconds of acceleration.
@@peteandpuy Thanks for answer. So there's no reason but acceleration for e:hev. As you wrote "normal" 160 is better due to its storage or ABS. Anyway, for acc/top speed you can always install hi speed Pollini kit or other. Thanks once again for comparison.
Not at all if anything it protects it. Have one on both scooters. Protects your bum from a hot seat and when it's raining (very useful here). First thing I buy with a new bike.
I don't know what a set cover is. The seat cover is a stretch mesh that are available here for around $10. They seem to last forever and highly recommended to protect the seat from getting too hot and when it's raining you don't notice the seat is wet. Available on Amazon.
No idea. Did the 2022 make it? I can't imagine there is going to be many (any) changes after the 2022 version for a few years. What they usually do is change colors for a new model year. The PCX 160 has been in short supply here in Thailand where they are manufactured.
The TG (Thai Girl) is very comfomfortable back there. I just asked her and she said, "soft as". She has her own scooter (Honda Click) but will take the PCX alone. She loves it. This is the third one I've owned so she knows the PCX. Her comment when she first drove it was that it was just a little better in every way. That sums up this version of the PCX. Sometimes if she has a dress on she'll sit with two legs on one side on the back. Perfect bike for two people. I can't say that for the Click, seems too small. Maybe that's just me since I'm so used to the PCX. By the way, I had to look up what "riding two up" meant. Have fun, Father.
I’ll plan on moving to the Philippines at the end of 2023 so I was looking for a good bike that me and my girlfriend could do long trips on and I think I will get The 2022 coming end of yr 2023 and by the end of 2023 might be a little cheaper to buy
They've never gone down in price, only up. What I've been doing is selling in two years and buying the new model. They hold their value well so it doesn't cost me much to always be driving a new bike. If the model doesn't change, I might keep it longer. If you plan on long trips you might think about a Forza, the next model up.
@@peteandpuy I think as long as it holds two people comfortably and don’t bottom out I’ll stick with the 160 when I live in the Philippines because it’s not like Traveling interstate roads in America . as long as it can hold two people comfortably and don’t bottom out I like that scooter
Wow 999 subs. If you could just persuade me a little harder to sub you'd make your goal... but how do I know you're not greedy.... You get 1000 you'll want 10,000, get 10K and you'll want a million. Where does it end!?!? Great review.
