My intro video for the new HTP Invertig 400 AC/DC 1/3-Φ TIG & Stick Welder that I bought and paid for with my own hard earned money! You know who I'm talking to!! lol Anyways, I'm just a hobbyist, so sorry for the long video, and the awkward pauses, just so much to remember and talk about! Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
Later I will make more videos about this kick a(# machine and get some arc shots on both TIG & Stick for both DC and AC welding.

I had fun making this video, since it's not something I'm good at, but trying to get better. Let me know if you have any questions. Right now I'm setting up a rotary phase converter so I can power this machine up and squeeze the max juice out of it! and of course there will be a video! Coming soon in a couple weeks.

Not trying to knock the htp but I have the Everlast 255EXT with 220v plug in and it puts out 250A @ 60% duty cycle AC TIG for $2200.00. They also have the 350EXT it puts out 280A @ 60% duty cycle AC TIG. 60% duty cycle is the number you need to look at for those who plans on doing a lot of welding.

Good for you; its your money so you are free to buy whatever you like. It's all fine and dandy until they break down and everlast blames you amd basically denies warranty. Seen this happen already. Hope this doesn't happen to you. If you're in Texas, you can come by and we can torture test both your TIG and mine until they hit the thermal shut-down repeatedly....just to see who needs to call the vendor first ;)

@@zod-engineering-welding preach brother lol didnt like that guys attitude either. I'm selling my everlast 210EXT and going for the Invertig 313(shop only has single phase) the everlast served me well, but I dont want to be stuck with it when it no longer is worth anything, it's like a car(chinese car), every year that goes by, it's worth gets closer to $100 lol and the HTP will still be worth thousands YEARS from now. I dont want a machine to "get me started" or "get me by until I'm able to upgrade", that's what everlast users basically all say. I got a used Dynasty 280 and it opened my eyes to what "quality and service" means. But when it comes to buying a new machine to take me far with my side business for Years(10-15 YEARS) I see that HTP is the way to go. Best value for pro welders who have tried the Miller route and see the difference. About $1500-$2000 difference, for same type of quality and service, plus the HTP has slightly better duty cycle than Millers. Everlast will definitely "get you by", and u can definitely do quality work with them, I did. So has everyone on RU-vid, but not One of them have said "if your serious about welding, and want machine you can trust to feed your family with, go with Everlast" ...if they say that, its cuz they work for Everlast...HTP doesnt have to pay pros to endorse their products. That means something to me. It obviously meant something to u too. Great vid Oscar!

I have a real hard time trying to understand the reason for all the adjustments and hard to understand tweaks on this machine.I have been welding for over 40 years and certified in both stainless and aluminum welding using the old transformer welders.Flip the switch to DC for stainless and AC for aluminum and start to weld, simple as that! I see very little if any advantage in the inverter welders these days with all of the bells and whistles they offer. Am I missing something, we are only welding here?
@zod-engineering-welding
@zod-engineering-welding 3 года назад
Yes, in my opinion, you are missing something Added control. Think of this analogy. Why have automobiles progressed the way they have since they were first introduced into the mainstream population at the turn of the century? We still only get from point A to point B? So why do automobiles have all these added features now? That is the basic premise that the analogy will follow. Don't worry, it's normal for you to feel the way you do, because you learned to weld when none of this existed. So you had to make do with what was available to you; absolutely nothing wrong with that. I will feel the same way you do right now, but it will be 40 years from now in the year 2060, when welders will have evolved to a point where even I won't recognize them. I too will also wonder, "why do you need all those newer features and adjustments?? Back in my day in 2020, all I needed was my Invertig 400 with a basic set of menu functions and that was all I needed for mild steel, stainless, and aluminum, etc". Do you see what I mean? :) Also look also at communication. Why are you surfing the internet on your computer/tablet/mobile phone right now and posting a comment on a youtube video? There are still telephones, regular mail, newpapers, libraries to find information and communicate with others. Yet here we are, communicating at light-speed, likely thousands of miles away, right? Because it's *convenient* to utilize new technologies :) It makes things faster/easier/etc/etc in ways we can't even dream of right now. Things change. Things evolve. Time moves forward, not stands sill, nor moves backwards.

Oscar you just set me straight. I am 63 years old and sometimes struggle with new technology. Your explanation was just perfect.Thank you for taking the time to explain things in a way that is easy to understand.

You need a 40hp phase converter?! I could run my mill my lathe plasma cutter......pretty much every tool in my shop off of a 10hp
@gmaestro79
@gmaestro79 2 года назад
No it's not "needed", I'm actually running off of a 30HP phase converter. I believe I mentioned 40HP since that would put the max load of the welder in the 50% range of a 40HP RPC, which would be much better than loading up a 20HP phase converter to the max. 10HP is only 7,500W total power available. This beast pulls nearly *15,000* watts at full throttle. That would overload your 10HP RPC real fast at that level.

@@zod-engineering-welding yes I got the smart cooler.....I actually haven't received the 301 yet but but I ve had my pro pulse 300 for a few weeks and I like so much I had to get a tig machine too I'm told the settings are very similar to the 400 invertig
@zod-engineering-welding
@zod-engineering-welding 2 года назад
@@westweld Yea from what I can tell it's a lower-amperage version of the 400 with the same features. I have a TIG Button on mine and my Invertig 221. I love those things. Gotta love that PP300, eh? I have a custom-made 20ft MIG gun on mine and works awesome. I just finished making my ultimate MIG cart and I'm putting together the footage to upload a video. I have an HTP group chat going on Signal Messenger in case you want to join. I don't think there is a way to send the link directly through youtube. I can send through facebook if you use it.

So 400 box is around 1000 bucks more than their new 313 (with cooler), however 313 does not include anything else such as torch, pedal, cart etc. while 400 comes with all that?
@zod-engineering-welding
@zod-engineering-welding 3 года назад
For some reason, the 313 has the options where you can select the water-cooled package or just the "power source alone". But on the 400's page, it doesn't give you that same option. So it just depends on what option you are looking at. If you are looking at the 313 with the water cooled package it does include some accessories as described on that page if you read further down.
