Morning Whitney, love your New makes and I am now the proud owner of the pattern and tutorial. Than you for the coupon code Every little helps on a fixed income. Have a great day. Val ❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧
You amaze me, you are such a fast sewist ! I am such a slow sewist .....by the time I will sew this shirt you would have a whole wardrobe made !! I'll get there one day! Good you mentioned there actually are Bust Darts ...! Thank you for sharing. I love yr dress and yr sister's shirt .
This one knocked it out of the park for me and hope many others too! What a fantastic and very very versatile pattern and, Whitney, your version of the Aria in that gorgeous plaid challis is sensational particularly, imo, sans belt! I’ll be working on mine this afternoon! Your sister is going to be over the moon for her shirt version! Can’t wait to see photos!
Love the pattern, your fabric choices & bias yoke. You have the best ideas! Thanks for this, I just ran to get my bundle! Cannot wait to get started! Happy Spring & hope your allergies resolve soon! 🤗🤗🤗
I love the aria button down but have always steered away from collars and stands - chicken I know. But I can imagine this one in a light weight denim for in between seasons so decided to buy the bundle so I had intense instructions available because I didn’t think I could just wing it. Soooo I down loaded the bundle and have begun going through each lesson from the beginning - it’s brilliant. Her voice is very easy to listen to and the instructions are so clear and concise, thanks heads up. ❤️
I love this dress, Whitney! The plaid is gorgeous, and the drape of the fabric looks to be perfect, though maybe a nightmare trying to sew :) This will be a fun video week, thanks!!
I love the plaid! This would look great duster style or with just a couple buttons done up with leggings or straight leg trousers. The colors are amazing!
I’m in StL and it has been insanely windy here, too. We were at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday and all the poor vendors were holding onto their pop-up canopies for dear life! And don’t even get me started on the layer of yellow pollen on everything. Your plaid dress is beautiful and nobody is noticing anywhere the plaid doesn’t line up flawlessly, but you. That’s the curse of being a maker, I think. We are so close up to our projects that we know every little imperfection up close. Nobody else sees them. Sometimes I inspect ready-to-wear the way I inspect my own makes and it makes me feel so much better 😆
I’m down in the KC, MO area and the wind has been insane. Everyone has allergies, including those who normally don’t have them. You can see the pollen in the air. Best time to be inside and sew! Love your makes and will see if I can get this to work as I’ve got the larger bust as well. I bet your rayon gauze feels great on, almost like having your pjs on
Both your versions of the Aria shirt looks great and so different from each other. Even though I have made men's dress and western shirts and similar shirts for myself, I decided to get the Love Notions tutorial and the pattern just for fun. Yes, I did use your discount code, thank you. I have light blue fabric in my stash waiting for a shirt like this. I plan to do facings, bias tape, and maybe the inside yoke in a floral percale. Probably won't watch the tutorial and start this project until May since I have some Selfless Sew projects to finish this week. Thanks, Whitney!
I love your plaid dress!!! Maybe it's the colour but I love the style on you too! I could really see this with short sleeves for summer, imagine how cool that would be to wear around unbound at the waist!!! I would have to cut it at the shorten/lengthen line and put a gathered skirt on it but soooo cute!! Great job!
Rectangle here. I agree 💯 % with not cinching in waist. It never looks right on me. A loose gathering however is fine. I own Classic Shirt by Liesl and Co so no need for this pattern. The built in collar stand is super intriguing tho. Nice job on your makes. 💗
I love this pattern, and I'm hoping I can make it. I had two of these dresses when I was in high school. I loved them. They were sleeveless and I got a lot of compliments on them. That was 50 years ago. I'm not the same shape as back then but looking forward to trying to make this with a short sleeve.
Disappointed this shirt doesn’t have a separate collar and stand, for a traditional shirt, I kinda like that look. But, if I can get by with less bulk in the collar, I’m good. It’s a great shirt, I’m excited to get going with this one! Love your dress. Deb
It's a very interesting collar that I hadn't seen before. It does include the collar stand and collar, they are just one piece instead of two. It was a fun change!
@@TomKatStitchery I did get the pattern, and while I was at it, the course, it’s always useful, if I pick up one thing it’ll be worth it, and with your code, affordable! Thanks. Not sure you see replies, but it’s here. ❤️🙋🏼♀️
Beautiful makes as always , do you have a tutorial on how to do the bias binding on curved hems ? If not would you consider doing one ? Than you so much for your wonderful vlogs 💐
They turned out so good. I bought the pattern late last night and used your coupon code. Already watched about half of the course that goes with it. 😂 Needless to say I was excited for this pattern releasing. I think I am going to make the banded collar version first.
I grabed this pattern about 3 mins into your video! I think I'm going to make one out of linen for a beach coverup. I'm in Dayton, Ohio so I always nod my head and say "yep, yep" when you talk about the crazy weather in your area. We generally get the same weather patterns as Indy. Here's hoping the sun shows up for good in a couple of weeks!
Really pretty shirt and dress! I’m a double gauze lover! 💗 Were you going to show us something about the difference between how you sewed the button plackets on the two garments?
Oh! I"m so sorry! I folded one to the wrong side of the shirt and the other to the right side of the shirt. The instructions have you sew it on the right side.
I love your plaid dress! Either way, with or without the belt. I was confused when I saw the line drawings earlier that it didn’t have bust darts. Thanks for clarifying they are on the FB pieces.
Those are really cute. I like it without the belt and that’s the same way my body seems with a belt and straight hips. 😬 Curious: when do you premake your bias tape? What goes into that decision? How much do you do? Etc…
I almost always make my own bias tape and when I do it I always just make way more than I'll need. This way I have some in my stash when I don't have enough fabric to make bias tape or when I want a fun pop of color. I am going to do a tutorial on how I make bias tape soon!
I don’t think collars lay as well as they do with a collar stand, I also think the button on the bottom of shirts should be higher like a purchased shirt. So sorry about the not good kind of rock hard stomach! Sure wish I could sew like you, you do amazing work.
No honey. You started off pink it isn't the yellow shirt 😆. I reckon it is tied in with your allergies after your day in the pollen-y wind. But anyway, who cares if you are a little pink today? You still rock!
I'm mainly gluten free. However, when I'm having major issues I go to a diet that's a mix of vegan and paleo. There are quite a few vegan staples that I can't eat so I really need the meat.
