Congrats on the new machine. I love the color. My engine takes 30 minutes to really get going, so hills right off the bat make for some fun suffering. Raced on Cannondale road bikes when then first came out, loved them.
We have owned several bikes but this our first time on Cannondale. I always like to try different bikes and it has not always gone in my favor. However this time was a grand slam. I found a used Scalpel Ultimate on eBay and took a chance and bought it. It is the finest bike I have ever owned!! Christine rode it once and was not happy with her Top Fuel after that..... So we got one for her and she is SO HAPPY!
If you don't have Trailforks, download the app, it is a big help. We parked at the upper parking lot of Kitsuma only because the road was closed. from the upper parking lot of Kitsuma take the trail down when it dumps you out on the road you will see a road directly in front of you ride that road for about 4 miles the first paved road to the right take it. A church sits just off the intersection take the the road that heads left a 1/4 mile up you will see some double track on the right that is star gap (no sign) take it up and over the R&R tracks and make your way to the top. Continue down the other side once you hit the stairs go right this will take you right to Heartbreak. At the end of heartbreak is Copper trail (no sign) turn right head down to the road when you get to the road turn right again and stay on that road for about 7 miles, 6 mile climb. You will pass the lower Kitsuma parking lot about 1/4 from the end of copper, this is the better place to park, but the road may still be closed. The whole route is 20 miles with 3450 elevation. HAVE FUN!!
@@weekendswithfrankchristine3377 Yeah, use trailforks all the time but wanted to make sure I parked in a good place to ride. Gonna try this. Thanks for the detailed info.
@@weekendswithfrankchristine3377 FYI.. Old US 70 to the Old Fort Picnic area (lower Kitsuma Parking Area) is actually open. West Main Street is closed at the bridge, but you can still take a right onto Old US 70 to the lower parking area of Kitsuma
