Exactly what I wish I could tell the manufacturer. BLACKBOX-2, having expression pedal. I also don't trust the rechargeable technology, it might not last for years like direct 9V powered pedals.
I believe it would be a great step ahead for M-VAVE! We never know what they will bring on future, but for sure I will let them know the suggestions!! Cheers mate! 🎛️🔥
@@Lexus-Poxus here to me appears the blackbox 20 dollars more expensive still. So I will need to wait a little bit more to buy it... probably when Aliexpress will be in sale!
You can buy both for under $200 USD. That's what I'll likely do. Keep the one I like more or run them both. Do we know if this black box is BT midi capable like the Tank G? Having both on one board with a couple of M-Vave Chocolates would be pretty cool.
I really wish they would do a midi controller with a screen and more features than the Chocolate. I have that one, and its build great, just a pain to program. Edit: It can be battery powered? Thats a plus.
I had been waiting to buy the Tank G. A week later the blackbox came out. But thats okay, I'll just have to buy the blackbox later. I'd been thinking about making something very similar to this for a couple of years, for personal use only. It was compiling/writing all of the code that held me up. But M-vave beat me to it, they must have been reading my mind. Lol
It seems like everyone is doing this form factor now. Boss discontinued the GT-1000 Core at the wrong time because the Ampero, HX Stomp and now the M-Vave Black Box are making compact multi effects modelers without expression pedals.
Exactly! This stomp box format helps to fit it to the board easier! I would easily keep it only for Preamp+IR on the end of my signal chain.... for example! Cheers mate! 🎛️🔥
@@aaronkaaimarino maybe I heard an untrue rumor? I love my Boss pedals. The Boss corner of my pedal board has the most unique tones of all. I have a loop from an Electro Harmonix Tri Parallel mixer going to a Boss SY-1, then a noise gate and an SL-2 Slicer followed by a GT-1 for further manipulation (harmonizer, slow gear, tera echo, overtone, feedbacker, vibrato). The only huge omission from the GT-1 is the space echo but I can use another loop from the Tri Parallel and use the space echo setting on the Line 6 HX Stomp. The last loop is just a conventional guitar signal chain i.e. compression, dirt pedals, amp/cab sims, Wampler Terraform, Boss DD-8 and RV-6.
Love the form factor, the amp processor is gonna be the game changer with the tech to model Your own gear. I owned the cube baby and really hated it, but it was all I could afford at the time! All these preamps are stock?
Yes!! I have recently released a video with Custom Captures and combining with pedals! Check out in the channel list! The native preamps are good, but you need to equalize them a little to balance the brightness and thicken the sound! Cheers mate! 🎛️🔥
Does the IR loader have an EQ option in the app? I’m looking at the IR box because it has a parametric EQ option in the CubeSuite app, but if this can do IR loading plus a bunch more for a little more money. That’s be great. But, I’ve found fine-tuning IR’s with a good parametric EQ to be a game changer.
It is not that detailed like the IR-BOX mate! I know really well what you mean. In this case, better to pair it with the IR Box, even because you would have the Balanced Output as a plus! The BLACKBOX runs via the M-EFCS, so no graphic EQ like the Cube Suit! Hope it helps! Cheers! 🎛️🔥
+ for ampero mini is that it's touch screen with more fx.... + for blackbox is that it's powered by built-in rechargable battery ... does black box have audio interface? ampero mini does...
Even though it's cheap and good, if you're not lucky enough, it can be a loss. A friend of mine bought a Cube Baby just about a month ago, and suddenly the unit died. The company refused to refund or replace it. they'll not take responsibility. Knowing this, I listed my Tank G for sale, and it sold 😊. Some may say it's cheap, but it's still money. What's cheap for you might not be for someone who doesn't earn as much as you.
It is a fact that all chinese products do not have warranty at all, so the low prices are actually funded by this "lack of responsibility". But anyway, the cube baby has a chronical issue of simply stopping. Both Tank G and Blackbox still have no history of problems like that, the same as the other pedals and the chocolate midi controller. Anyway, we need to see how they will behave in the long run! Cheers mate! 🎛️🔥
@@sublikeheroes4656 i bought cubebaby 4 years ago, after 2 years it died, found out battery was bloated they freakin use Lipo battery, but i am greatful it works again after replacing it..
True, cube baby was awful, so I picked up some “mono block” pedals or “analog” but this was the only unit I could afford and it does rock, I pray it doesn’t just crap out like MyMvave ABY
@@adamstein9333 Good choice! If you're rocking it out on stage, it's a great idea to add an IR pedal-I’d suggest the Flamma FS07 for its stereo features and more (though sadly, no warranty is offered for the Flamma FS07 too). btw It will make your sound comparable to using expensive gear, especially if you use professional IR samples like those from York Audio. Good luck
There is a small latency, but I honestly do not believe it is a deal breaker. The same latency as the Tank G! Of course, if you will use a midi controller to turn on the slots without changing presets, there is no latency! Cheers mate! 🎛️🔥
thanks for the nice Overview for the Blackbox ! very interesting little device! Iam searching some new Effect devices for my Synthesizer Jams.. so no Guitars for me XD I have the M-wave Mini Universe & The M wave Elemental Delay on my list or instead maybe The Blackbox ..? at the Maximum for my budged iam Thinking about the Hotone Ampero mini.. is there a big difference from the Quality of the EFX`s ? the Price is more than double... Would be nice if someone have some nice inputs for me. Thanks 🙂
Hey mate! So... the Ambiences of the Blackbox are not exactly the same as the Mini U and the Elemental, but they have some of them. Suggest you to check my review of the Mini U and Elemental to understand if there is any other algorithm that you would miss. But I could tell you that having the possibility to use presets makes the Blackbox as a good alternative for the two pedals stacked. Compared to the Ampero, they are in different league. The Modulations of the Ampero Mini are much better. It is a stereo equipment. It has more features of Effects on top of noise gate, compressor and Boost... so it is difficult to compare. But on the budget league, I believe the Blackbox is a pretty good product! I hope it helps! Cheers mate! 🎛️🔥
@@RiffsRigs Hey Man,Thanks for your quick response! I watched your Videos of them already 🙂 Ok, i see i have more Algorithm options with the Standalone padles. To have no presets seems at the moment not a big miss for me. In a Jam situation, i always will play a bit with the settings. The multi EFX what i use atm, is the Zoom MS70-CDR, and the G1Four. Iam shure you know them aswell. For me the are more or less ok, but they are getting slowly really aged, and i want an upgrade, in terms of effect quality. What dou you think, will the Ampero mini also be in a diffenrent league (compared to the zoom`s - mainly for the Reverbs and Delays wich i use the most time) ?? then, i think my solution will be, to get the Ampero Mini as my main, or the better "High Quality Multi EFX" device, and the M wave Mini U and Elemental as "fun Toys" ---> (many Synths need many different Effects 🙂). Or do you have maybe a different recommendation in the 200 euro range.. ? Thanks again Appreciate your Help
@@RiffsRigs porque los pedales Flamma si bien son digitales, al dejarlos apagados sin conectar los 9V igualmente la señal de audio sigue pasando por ellos...
M-vave is not the first to do this, but why does it look like they're changing the game? Prolly coz of the price? Not sure. But yeah, they've been releasing great stuff lately.
Unfortunately no! M-VAVE will release a new version of Midi Controller which iw compatible with it! But for now we will need to survive with only two footswitches! :( 🎛️🔥
Hola! gran review!! se puede usar conectado a un contrlador midi para cambiar de presets o parámetros dentro de un preset?, como el joyo pxl por ejemplo... Saludos!
Yes! You can do it using the Chocolate Midi or the Chocolate plus. Here there is a video showing how: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CglyTLLPnHI.htmlsi=jupttde0VG0aeqAf
For sure! You just need to shut down the preamp and IR session, or load an acoustic Preamp capture with an acoustic guitar IR! Suggest also to edit the signal chain placing the IR as first in chain! Cheers mate! 🎛️🔥
does it have Distortions and Overdrives or is the main gain just from the Amps? because I keep noticing that you only use Amps to get some gain sounds, does it not have a Distortion section to thicken up the gain?
Hey mate! For sure!! There are some nice captures of preamps being sold in some packs which can get even better! But of course, with compression and the clean preamp + the acoustic IR it gets already KILLER! 🎛️🔥
Hi, greetings from Italy. 🙂 Is there a possibility of modifying the chain? Do I have the possibility to bring the IRs to the top? I'm thinking, for example, of use with an inexpensive acoustic guitar: I bring the IRs to the top to have the IR of a Martin and then apply modulation effects such as reverb and chorus.
Yes! The full signal path is editable in Slots! And it allows you to load 20 IRs! So for acoustic it will help you a lot! The mods are not that amazing... but works for chorus in low speed and Tremolo... for example... Auguri mio amico! 🎛️🔥
@@RiffsRigs Amazing. I was considering buying the Zoom A1 Four, but this one costs half as much (which doesn't hurt). 😁 It is also true that it does not have a looper and drum, but I would not have used them. On the IR no problem, I have mine on Martin, Taylor and Gibson. I will look at a couple more reviews, but I really think I have found my next pedalboard.
@@warp09it is a budget gear! So of course you can't expect it to be strong and reliable like a zoom or a Boss unit, but I've been using M-VAVE stuff for 3 years now and they all work just perfect! For 85 bucks, it is worth the try! 🙌🏻
Hey mate! Just got my blackbox, i just cant help to notice that when im turning on/off effx on a preset i always notice this buffering for mili seconds before the effx on/off. Does the mvave chocolate resolve this issue? Because i feel like it is really noticeable. Tank g updated it and still have that but became more unnoticeable in live context. Thanks mate!
Hey mate! The latest firmware update from blackbox reduced it, and the Chocolate engaging of the slots performa ir seamless... which can be a good alternative if you are not completely changing the presets! I hope it helps mate! They are working hard to reduce this issue!
@@RiffsRigs thanks mate! This channel really help me understand this Mvave products, in early days i hated cheap multi effx but saw your channel got introduce to this units, sold all my high end boutique preamp like , dream, iridium, walrus preamp , and ruby and settle to this cheap unit. Very happy and kinda boost me to focus more on playing than changing new pedal everyday haha
Hey mate! I didn't notice any latency issues... but it has a miliseconds gap when changing presets! Take this into consideration. It doesn't pop, but instantly cuts the sound for some miliseconds! I hope it helps! 🎛️🔥
It depends on the quality of transfer of the capture. Some colleagues at RU-vid reduced a lot the hiss noise by transferring the captures via SyncoAnn, instead of using the M-EFCS! The custom captures are more silent also! Cheers mate! 🎛️🔥
@@AndreChrisyudhait is a pitty! I agree! I asked them to send me with the Chocolate and they replied me this info. But soon the new midi controller should be out! And improved!!
How the h*** do you charge it? All I got was a usb to c cable. “It can charge with the 5v adapter or the power bank. When the battery run low, you can use the 5v 2A adapter”. There is no adapter. Wtf
😂 I'm a big fan of mvave, but I think the ampero mini is slightly better (i have one). I'll probably get this one too. The tank g w/captures is a great value too.
@@EdBendertwo different leagues of products! But the Blackbox has potential for solving 90% of the issues of many guitar players who need only the basics! Cheers mate! 🎛️🔥
@@RiffsRigs yep, I agree. Seems like a great product. Mvave has been upping their game. The batery power is a really nice feature for practice and casual jamming too.
