This is great. Attention is also needed in Festac town because both facilities were built for each other, and Festac is also a national asset just like the theater
@@maxwellude3241 I don't expect pessimist like you to understand what's going on in the country,I know you will like to hear bad news on our country but God will continue to shame you, because Nigeria is on the rise, and no evil can stop it😁😁
I watched a movie called OPOMULERO in one of these cinemas here. I can never forget. It was my first time here and that was the movie we came to watch. It was so hot that we had to take off our clothes. We were so small too. I'd love to watch movies in here after the renovation. Thank you for the post.
Hey Bro, your videos are more and more captivating and really impressive, and I think it's high time you add more minutes to your videos. That place is really big and beautiful, the fact that it has its own train station makes it even more striking. We'll continue to support you going forward great job. Thanks 👍
@@abiodunbalogun3292 thank you so much My friend, please I need your help with information on that building at the middle of the coastal highway that wouldn't be demolished. Do you have any idea why the building would not be demolished and why? Do you also know about the contractors who owns that building?
Keep quiet! Have you searched it on the RU-vid before making your silly comment? I got to know about the renovation from another youtuber on here some years ago, and the project was recently finished.
Do your own and don't judge anyone. The easiest way to make this go viral is organise an opening ceremony and let Rhema perfom there and Boom! it's Viral. Let Chimamanda speak there and it will go viral. We have many beautiful structures but management has been an issue. Let's see how it fares in 2 years.
The question that bothers me would be, why this magnificent structure was allowed to fall into disrepute in the first place? The concern now is how are we sure that in the next ten to fifteen years, the same thing will not happen again? The maintenance culture of us Nigerians is certainly a thing of concern. The body concerned with managing that edifice should please, please ensure that it doesn't fall into disuse again!
Love your videos keep bringing it. I thought I was already subscribed. I am now. I love it, and it looks fantastic. I can't wait to check the place out. I watched, Dynasty, cool And the gang, Shalama, and skyy with free tickets from silverside production. I met up with Dynasty at Ikoyi Hotel , chatting with Nedra Bread. Sweet memories ❤ I hope the government maintains the National Theatre o.
Well done! Trust me, the high quality of your videos will help you grow soon, but I think you also needed to make a consistent post and collaborate with the most famous RU-vidrs. Best of luck!
Very impressive work was done to restore this national monument. The bankers commitee, especially the former CBN governor must be commended for this. Thanks for sharing.
OMG very nice to see this, our problem is we have money we don't know how to spend it i hope TINUBE change that problem and use our money to develop our dear country NIGERIA.
Lol how can Ghanaian think Nigeria who is far above them think Nigeria is a poor country lol, ghanaian work as slaves all over Nigeria few decades back, they prefer Nigeria to Europe
If they give the responsibility of this place to someone to make sure he or she maintains the quality, cleanliness and the day to day running, it would be great and if he or she doesnt do the job well, then they should be fired.
Me personally i just wish we can remove all the jaga jaga houses in naija and build everything from scratch in a properly planned environment. The way we are now, i am not sure how we can become a developed nation without demolishing bad, ugly and decayed structures.
The problem is when the government starts that they face alot of backlash For me that marina which is supposed to be the "CBD" they're supposed to remove all the shops and shanties and even some of those roads and just turn it into a walkable public space
Award shows and concerts have found a new location😅 Plus its very accessible with the lagos blue line. With all the stairs i wish they would have installed escalators
You started very well and then uttered “mini Dubai”. When can we stop with ourself degradation. No country or city in the world compares itself with any African country or city. Dubai doesn’t do Dubai to be New York. Paris doesn’t do Paris to be Shanghai. Beijing doesn’t do Beijing to be London. Let’s just do Lagos or whatever state in Nigeria to be that state. God damn it! This is National Thearter Lagos, unlike anywhere else in the world. It is beautiful and ours. We don’t compare with others. own it
Well said. The first home video that was ever produced in Nigeria in 1988 called "Okan Soso" in the Yoruba language movie sector of the Nigerian movie industry was screened at the cinema of the then National Arts Theatre, Lagos as well and many celluloid-era movies were shown there from the late 1970s right to the 1980s before home videos and VHS recorders displaced celluloid and the cinema movie. But now, the multiplex cinemas are here so the newly named and gentrified Wole Soyinka Center for Culture and the Arts, Iganmu, Lagos State, Nigeria will thrive again with more cinema goers. I visited this place during FESTAC 1977 and in the early 1990s and this new gentrified look is LIGHT years BETTER than the original look back in 1977 interior and exterior-wise! Kudos to those who made this happen. Eko onibaje.
Me pwrsonally i just wish we can remove all the jaga jaga houses in naija and build everything from scratch in a properly planned environment. The way we are now, i am not sure how we can become a developed nation without demolishing bad, ugly and decayed structures.
This is laudable. But let’s face it, this is small boy stuff 😂, compared to what some countries with half the level of financial resources as us are pulling off. The national theatre is just an auditorium, nothing more. It’s not some symbol of national unity or anything. These silly renovation projects are what they use to pacify and placate the pea brained, ignorant political supporters that are equally as responsible for the rot we’re experiencing in this country as the leaders/political office holders. As citizens, we need to demand for true transformational projects if we really intend to move the global power needle in our favor. Cheers.
